    You’re 100 percent right.
Take your Boat out of the picture and it would be something else they would be bitching about.
    Complaining over nothing is senseless.

I never complained about the boat, just the fact that as a professional fisherman, you were unprepared and didn’t even check the battery or give yourself a fair shot to compete. It just seems like you’re not taking Professional fishing serious anymore if you were, you would’ve never spent Most of the season without a boat, a real competition boat like the one you’re getting.

The only thing I take issue with is the co-angler. Doesn't the boat owner owe it to the co-angler who is paying an entry fee to have a sea-worthy craft that doesn't break down 6x times during a tournament? It doesn't seem fair, and you didn't mention what your co-angler thought. I think they deserve a refund.

Hateful and vitriol comments is of course never the right path. There was a lot more comments that were more from a place of confusion or being dumbfounded. As someone who was excited about trying to end the year well on points and is a professional angler, it’s hard to imagine that boat being your best choice to be as competitive as possible. That does not mean you had to fish out of a $100k boat either, a reliable and safe boat would have done. I think people see someone who has sponsors and is getting a wrapped boat as someone who is trying to do the best they can, and using a boat like you did doesn’t align with that. Perception on the role you have versus what you actually need to do in that role is the key missing link it seems.

Randy , just because equipment is old is no reason to let it go without proper repairs. Old batteries and fuel line issues are all manageable issues that should have been addressed if you are going to compete with that boat. I’m sure your new boat will at least have GPS. So why not buy your buddy a small working GPS for the dash , a couple batteries and a new fuel tank in appreciation for getting to use the boat. No hate, just seems you didn’t put full effort into the situation

No one I know has a problem with fishing out of a 35 year old boat-I fished out of a 1989 Ranger quite a bit- (my brother's boat with fish together in sometimes. The issue is with it having so many problems accumulating on it without it being maintained and fixed and letting it be the best it can be. Being 35 years old is totally separate from having 6 things simultaneously wrong with it-some of which could be safety hazards.

I was in the opposite situation. In 1989 I was running an old 1970’s Ebbtide Dynatrak and qualified for the clubs year end classic. The old 140 Evinrude finally bit the dust after the last tournament of the year. Buddy let me use his new Stratus for the championship and I was scared to death I was going to scratch it in a tree filled Smithville lake. Everybody went up river but me so I wouldn’t have to deal with trees. I won the dang thing!

I don't fish tournaments, but any time I'm worried about my boat not getting to and from a spot or the trolling motor batteries giving me problems, it completely spins me out even as a recreational angler. My boat is 20yrs old and has a bunch of random issues and it's always in the back if not front of my head.

Your series and teaching is about dealing with variables in fishing. Some of these was within your control and if fished and did what you did DISPITE the boat you would have gained great support in your anti FFS views
Love you channel Randy and love your views on technology but that bass fishing is to a large degree about preparation. Preparation of tackle, water, equipment, body and mind. This is what you teach, and in this case we kinda believe you let down the race against technology due to lack of preparation.

When that old Ranger was new, bass fishing had class, integrity, and an anglers ability to find and catch bass relied heavily on his skills to observe nature. They also had courtesy towards other fishermen. These punks now are arrogant, narcissistic, and couldn’t catch their dinner if you took their $$$ electronics away!

#1I did not hate on you. I simply stated that as a professional, you should have addressed the issues with the boat before you took it out. I don't take my Bass Tracker out unless I have taken care of the problems with it, at least the problems that I would have with the trolling motor and other major issues. #2, as a long time subscriber of your channel, I resent being called a name like smart ass. Maybe you could have more subscribers if you would not address us by derogatory names when we simply made suggestions. Nobody called you stupid or irresponsible for what happened, but I think you were reminded of the responsiblity of your position and a leader in the fishing industry. I feel a public apology is warranted.

Yeah RANDY, why didn't you spend a couple grand and really fix the boat so these guys would be happy. Don't you care what these experts on here think? Don't you know they are all professional boat mechanics and anglers? Don't you feel bad that you hurt their feelings again and again? You sure know how to trigger these Karens....🤣 Anyway, good luck in your next tourney with the new boat. 🙌

Nobody cares that it was an old boat. They are just pointing out the obvious, that it is a shitty move to co-anglers to take out a boat that has known reliability issues. At the very least you should have taken the boat out, shaken it down, and done some repairs to get it running right before hopping into a toyota.

To call us smart@@## shows where you are. It was not haters, you presented the boat as a problem. I saw old vids when you were fishing out of Ranger boats. Some of the pros you fished against years ago are still fishing out of Rangers and other well know rigs,i.e Skeeter, Nitro, ect. I guess you are no longer a viable asset to any of these companies or you would be fishing and sponsored by them. Now you want to backtrack on how you made the presentation. What happened to the boats you used to fish out of, guess you had to have a new one every year. Mine is working on 12 years old and still runs great.

The question is *** Why in the HELL ,would you attempt to fish in any boat that IS NOT WATER READY. ESPECIALLY in money paid out and chance of winning. Your chances of winning were slim to none.

This type of elitist snobbish behavior seems to be almost exclusively among tournament bass anglers..
    (For example)
I go to my local lake, and bass anglers are flying 80mph in super expensive boats with a 250hp on the back with at least 15 high dollar rods on the boat.
Meanwhile, in saltwater, I'll see an old man standing on a jetty catching a 30lb bull redfish on an old spincast with a zebco 808 on it like its no big deal.. 😅

This is the new Randy, folks. Clickbait, everyone is "haters", old is good new is bad. You taking that boat out was a goofball move and dangerous. Making that run was pointless. Whatever gets you clicks, bud. People were laughing at you at the weigh in, not laughing with you.

It was awful nice of your friend to loan you his boat to fish out of.
That said, you opened yourself up to the comments, negative or not, when you started bringing up or in this case kinda complaining about the issues with the boat. I think you are really into click bait topics/headlines in your videos in order to get viewers/comments. If you're really concerned with nasty comments, simply change your titles or content targeting these results. Otherwise, be ready for what you get.

What happened to the times were we all met at the ramp enjoying fishing stories, a few beers and everyone left with a smile and a few new fishing tips the next time we met up. These haters, hate themselves so much I'm surprised they have time to fish.
