I booked this resort last year but had to cancel last minute as WestJet had a strike mandate for its pilots. There was no other airline going here on the same day I wanted to travel, so I booked Melia Punta Cana. I've been watching endless reviews of which resort to go to this year; Iberostar, Riu, Grand Palladium, Dreams, Royalton etc. I saw some negative reviews about this resort criticizing the beach and scratched it off my list. But after watching your review, I'm booking it! The beach looks great and the hotel ground are beautiful. This is the best review of this resort I've seen. Thanks !!
Thank you for the kind comment. I have been to 25+ resorts in Mexico, DR, Cuba, Jamaica. I would say this one is like most. There pros and cons. I would say the pros are the buffet, drinks, food the beach except the beach is crowded. One of the things I really liked was the bracelets, your room key is on the bracelet and they are soft so comfortable to wear. The average is the rooms, and service. The cons may be the room service, they didn’t bring anything we ordered. All is all I would say it’s a pretty good place and price. I would also take a look at the 2 places next door, they are both Majestic and newer. The Colonial is the oldest.
We spent a week at Colonial in April 2022. Place is amazing. We have already booked for November ‘24. Make sure you book the Colonial Club Access. We are also planning to stay at Majestic Elegance or Mirage next year. The food is awesome, unlike Cuba.
I enjoyed the Colonia in 2012 the week of the fire. Food was good. Relaxing place. Entertainment good Bikini contest fun. Fixed but fun.. President Beer was ok Beach ok Ill head back someday.

Thank you for the video, I'm from Toronto also! My family and I are going in April. How did you like the food? I've heard some not so great things about it and am getting nervous. We're not super picky but would like to be able to eat, also nervous about getting sick.
Hi. I think you will be fine. My wife and I have traveled a lot all over the Caribbean and I would say the food here is a least average if not a little above. The buffet there is one of the best I’ve seen. The a-la-carts are below average. We ordered room service and they got nothing right and brought things we didn’t ask for. The drinks are average. The beach is beautiful but crowded. All the best

I'll be there also next April 2025 for 10 days. Will be my 3rd visit. Always be very happy there. Food was very good.
