The SNP have wasted Millions of pounds on the Independence bid, Lost to the high Court. A London court makes a judgement of a Westminster law voted through by Westminster which has 533 English MPs that the Scottish people from the Country of Scotland cannot hold a democratic vote to decide their future.
If the 533 English MPs continue to block the Indyref2 vote then it's a forced union.
Westminster tried that in Ireland and look how that turned out.

Quite right we need more posh people as representatives, people who know how to govern, put working class people in their place, starve children so that they can demonstrate their true charitable selves by opening food banks. It’s about time the people of Scotland woke up to the fact that a private health service would be far better because posh people could make more money and by extension be able to afford more food banks. You seem to have misquoted yourself. It was not an “or”, it was an “and”.
She suggested that a new vote could be triggered if the coming in/out referendum sax Britain exit the EU in defiance of Scottish wishes.
But, it was also stated that a 60% figure in the polls was ALSO required before she/the SNP would consider going to a vote.
Scotland was NEVER a member of the Eu . If 2014 had gone the other way , the SNP wouldve dragged scotland out of the EU

An election is voted on a multitude of policies, from health, to education to council services and many more.
What he is rightly pointing out, is that if you use the SNPs logic, folk vote for them,l must support independence, and if folk vote for a unionist party, then they don’t support independence.
That is what the SNP is pushing in their “de facto” election. All he is doing is using the SNP argument against them.
The fact remains that in every single election held for the Holyrood seats, more votes have been cast for union parties. The same goes for Westminster places.

David Cameron's 2015 Tory manifesto promised an EU referendum if the Tories won, which they did, so there was an EU referendum. But he only got 36.8% of the votes in that 2015 election. What gave him the majority was the number of MPs; 330.
What Alastair Jack is saying is that the SNP can't have a referendum because - according to some rules the Tories just made up - the SNP need to get over 50% of the vote in a general election BEFORE they can offer a referendum, despite having a majority of pro-indy MSPs in the Scottish Parliament.

Jack was born in Dumfries and educated at Dalbeattie Primary School, Crawfordton House and Glenalmond College before attending Herriot-Watt University. As a businessman, Alister founded successful tent hire and self-storage companies. He farms, mostly dairy, near Dumfries and grows Christmas trees.
Lord Offord is a Scottish businessman who was appointed a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State to the Scotland Office on 4th October 2021. He was born and educated in Greenock and graduated in Law from Edinburgh University in 1987 before embarking upon a 25 year career in The City of London. He returned to Scotland in 2014 and established the private equity boutique Badenoch & Co which invests in Scottish SMEs, that focus on manufacturing their products at home and selling abroad.
