  • Get on board in the drivers cabin of the DDZ and the ICMm. Today we're running empty trains from Amsterdam to the train yard in Hoofddorp and then take another train from there all the way to Zwolle.
We start with a small trip with the DDZ. A view weeks ago one of these train derailed in The Hague. Since then all trains from this type get extra check ups every day. This one just got its check ups and is now ready for a new day. That's why we take it to Hoofddorp and from there the train will start its journey to Enschede with another driver.
As you can see we're running our train pretty slowly. This is because there's not enough space in the schedule between Amsterdam and Schiphol. We get to drive our train right behind another sprinter train that stops on every station. So even though we depart a little late from Amsterdam, there's plenty of time to get back on schedule.
On this slow speed we eventually arrive at the the train yard in Hoofddorp. After we've arrived we change from train sort. We leave the DDZ and get on the ICMm. Picture of the train will be shown in the end of the video.
This train has Onnen workshop as its destination. On of the engines sets of the train is not working. This is why our train is built up in two ICMm trains giving us a total of 75% power on the wheels because we have three out of four engine sets available for traction. The faulty train cannot drive independently because 50% power can cause a train to strand in tunnels.
Also on this ride we take a pretty slow ride. First back to Amsterdam and there we have to wait until the sprinter has departed. That sprinter is waiting for departure ont he track ahead of us. After departure we stay behind the sprinter until Weesp.
Just before Weesp we get to stop because there are two trains with small delays passing by. As soon as the signal gives us permission to pass by the train systems (ATB-vv) thinks the signal is still red while its yellow. As soon as the train rolls its first cm the train brakes are being activated by ATB-vv. After this the braking system must be filled with air again before we can give it another try.
As soon as we're passed Almere Buiten we get much more free space on the tracks and we're able to get the train more to its maximum speed.
If you have any questions about the route or something else, please let me know in the comments below. Have a good weekend y'all! Cheers.
