Years ago when my daughter was 10 we talked her into wearing her great grandmother’s hat to the Christmas Eve service. It was darling with her velvet dress. After that she decided to collect vintage hats when we went to antique shops. She collected about 30 hats, all in perfect condition. I even bought her a few metal hat forms to put them on. They were even worn by the girls that attended my youngest daughter’s tea party and in school plays. I’m sure we still have a few in hat boxes in the closet. My daughter had fun shopping for them. Definitely special memories with my girls.
My husband and I h have been watching you for about 3 years now. We love Roger and love it most when he is also in the videos! We are 71 and 75. (We celebrate our 54th Anniversary 8-22)! If it weren't for our age and the fact that all our kids are here in the Kansas City Metro Area, we would love to move to your area! The thrift stores here are not good at all. You are definitely one of our very favorite You Tubers! Thank you for great videos and tips!
Congratulations early!! My Goodwills are not as good as these PA goodwills, either. I do find lots of treasures at estate sales and garage sales though. The key is to preview the sales on the internet. Companies include nice photos.
@@missbarbarajean I think most of us consider moving to Pennsylvania when we see Karen with two or three full carts in one trip. Happy Anniversary early.
Oh, that little Singer machine. I got one like it for Christmas one year when I was 6 or 7 (I'm now 75). I actually did sew doll clothes on it. Love it!
You and Roger are a wealth of information. Love watching and learning from both of you! Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. What a gift. ❤
Roger is extremely knowledgeable!! What a great catch Karen!! If he fixes things also, you hit the jackpot ( of course he's extremely lucky to find you also) 🎉
Hi Karen, I sold three hats to a hat collector and make a friend. After I dropped off the hats she invited me to lunch and we now do lunch together regularly!
Hi from Bristol UK - my granny gave that very sewing machine (I got very little from her) - it does work as a sewing machine- I also have the original box and table clamp.
Vintage glitter IS a thing. The really old stuff is actually glass. Wendy Addison is an artist and has the most fantastic store in California called Théâtre of Dreams where she sells artwork made from and or inspired by vintage paper goods. It is absolutely magical!
I always buy the vintage crafting supplies I find. Do I sell them? Mostly no, because I haven’t stopped loving the display I’ve made. But one day I will.
I get so jealous of all the wonderful thrift stores you have close to home. I watched every minute of this video and have made some notations: @2:12 love the spells and potions! @4:17 did you miss a framed embroidered piece? @5:26 you missed a tall vase on its side by the wooden lighthouse. @13:13 you missed a mantle clock with snow on a Victorian house in a styrofoam box. I LOVE BUTTERED POPCORN JELLY BELLIES TOO! @14:32 SCORE on the Stangal Bucket! @ 15:47 Love the green Lily Pad Plate @16:07 love the egg plate @18:13, I would have picked up the mouse and cheese plate. @18:50 SCORE on the knives! @22:30, you missed a stainless steel cocktail shaker. @23:55 LOVE THE CATS!! @24:40 Nice Stove Roger! Minnow Trap, Skateboards, Camera etc. SCORE! @31:20 there were gnomes on the top shelf. @32:05 love the bottles! @32:45 Sewing machine was my absolute favorite item you snagged! @34:43 My husband has 20 of these blow torches in his collection. @35:14 nice duck picture, but you missed the gorgeous ski boots! @43:24 I would have gotten the Superman Print. @44:09 would have grabbed the C. Rambo vase. @46:26 I would have grabbed all of the hats! Vintage costumers would have eaten these up, regardless of the few nicks. You and Roger are the perfect pair because you both have your own genres/niches that you love to sell! It's fun hanging out with you two! I can only see things from the comfort of my "Lazy Girl" recliner. You are there in person! Can't wait till your next episode!
That vintage glitter/tinsel container would look amazing in a vintage Christmas display with something Christmas-y and vintage sitting (or glued) on top of it!
I have the most wonderful collection of fancy ladies' antique hats and antique hat stands. My most favorite ones are displayed on one of my antique sideboards, which is positioned just behind our sofa.
Hi Karen, You are so funny & had me laughing. Your comment about Roger cooking on the Coleman stove with the helmet on was hilarious. 😂 Also, the lure comment about it being big enough to catch a shark or Jaws was so funny. Thank you for sharing your thrifting videos!!! My family and I love them!!! 💖 God bless you both!!!
Thanks for your time and video. Great assortment of items . Perhaps look into putting the fancy lamp on ' chairish. It sells high end , decorator items
OMGEE Karen! I can't believe you found that ANTIQUE SINGER MINIATURE SEWING MACHINE! I would never think you could come across those "in the wild" and at Goodwill. Good for you!
i love that Roger is getting comfortable on camera ; now we get to see more of his personality, .ya all are living the dream in my opinion .you guys inspire me so much , by the way you make every moment fun & silly , by your work ethic ofcourse & lastly by your Love Story
Great find with the knives. They sell for many hundreds of dollars. The can can cats are so cute. Looks like Roger is going skate boarding and then off to camp for the weekend. 😉
Karen i really enjoy your videos and have been watching for several years😊. I am also a customer. Hard goods and clothes. You use to do clothing haul in your home. I miss those. Please do them again too. Thanks.
Loved the nice, long, all thrifting video. Thank you Karen and Roger! ❤ * there are a few pieces of vintage York Pfaltzgraff pottery that can go for pretty good money. Like over $100. However, you really do have to research your particular item for sure because some of them don’t bring a lot. 😊
I've been a fan of yours for years Karen. As an avid Philly sports fan I love that Roger came into your life and as a result mine through these videos. lol Thanks for all the hard work you do to put out great content.
Another fun & mesmerizing video. I think the hats will do well for you. I can't get over how well stocked those Goodwill stores are in PA. I went to one on Long Island today. It was full of pure junk!
Karen, as usual a n informative and interesting video. Thank you! I especially liked hearing you discuss lamps and how you decide which ones to pick up and why.
Karen, I actually ask myself “Would Karen pick this up?” Before I buy something! You have taught me so much. You are so classy! Thank you! And I love the addition to the channel… that gorgeous hubby Of yours! Roger teaches me so much also! Tell him we want to see more of his hauls!
I found an estate sale once that had a bunch of old craft supplies. I bought a lot of stuff that day and the old glitter was among the items. Glad you bought the bottle you found.
My, what fun it was to see the true vintage ladies by day, then walked 1 block down the street to her home which was dubbed , "THE YOUNG HOTEL". It was a B &B long before that was even in ogue.
The Coleman stove is the one we used in the 70s. Camp stew was our go to. Open up a ton of cans, pop into a saucepan. Cheap. Not too tasty, but filled us up.
We just sold 6 Wustoff steak knives in their block on a best offer of 96.00 plus shipping and they had oxidation on them! Your knives are just beautiful! Also, I’m scheduled to come to your area in October… daughter and fiancée live in Belcamp, MD…I very excited!
❤😎😜 Do we love a good Snack bag packed by Mr. Lavender Clothesline? Yes we do! ❤😎😜
Roger kills me!!!😂 He used to be so shy. Now, he is such an extrovert. You go, Roger.
Roger isn’t really shy in real life 🤭😂

Luv the Cats in the Tuna can…
Loved the Constable Salisbury Cathedral print. Love that cathedral. And Constable, of course.
