Use rub’n’buff on the mini candleholders instead of spray paint!
Not only do you not look 65, you don’t look 40. The utensil holder has amazing glaze. It looks like a landscape almost.
Don’t take it personally, sometimes GWs give senior discounts automatically. Say yes and take the discount!

wavy amber glass are fro serving celery at a large dinner. one on each side of table, water at the bottom to keep celery crisp.

They looked like vases to me. Celery would get stuck in smaller waves….

Wooden ovals are risers for decorative objects.
Use “rub and buff” on the mini candlesticks instead of spray paint, it gives them a beautiful patina

The utensil holder pottery is so pretty, it looks like a tree landscape to me. And I liked that wood treasure chest box, very cool! Also, your lil sardine painting was really cute 😊 and you don’t look even close to 65, not even 40 for that matter. I’m 38, we’re still young & fun, girl!!! 😁

That brass piece with the bell in the middle, the hooks are to hold a little mallet to strike the bell.
The “hooks” on the brass “bell” are for where the hammer rests to ring it.

Those wood blocks that you were thinking about repurposing are actually stands for porcelain birds by Andrea by Sadek and they have value on their own - they can sell between $15-$30 depending on the size and shape. Those were good ones because they were so nice.

You found some amazing items! That pottery dish with the intricate design while being somewhat "clunky" was awesome! I'm so glad you got it! Watching you thrift was almost like watching Laura and then I saw your beautiful displays of artwork, pottery etc! Just like Laura! I LOVE that because it's great inspiration for our homes! :)

If you have the Ooba Tooba granite counter, it's actually green and not black. I paired mine with a copper sink and copper accents and it brought out the green. This is one of the most common 'black' granite colors from early 2000-ish. I had no idea until the designer who helped me do my kitchen showed me the color....Love your channel!

Great video, Andi. Loved you taking us along as you were sourcing (that is always my most favorite part). You found some terrific pieces, the pottery especially. How do you pass up such pretty Myrtlewood? Also, the hooks on the bell are where the gong rests. That's how the bell rings. We used to have one like that. :) Edit: I watched further on and you did learn this. Also, yay! You added your initials to your art! Just as you should. Future people can now research who YOU were, just as you do now. Full circle.

The oval wood pieces are risers/bases to display either a ceramic vase or decorative piece. Great for other things, maybe a mini little town at Xmas and other holidays. Cluster candle holders, special pieces, etc on them but its easier to use a regular frame for needlework pieces. Made in Korea is usually 1980's/early 90's. Love all the studio ceramic pieces. Id have grabbed those little houses too. Love those things.The amber wavy glass arent drinking glasses, they are probably for celery. One for each end of the table. They can easily be used as vases since the flowers will fall beautifully in all the nooks of the wavy top. I can see them with a fall/Halloween theme or pretty spring and summer blooms. Nice glasses in a popular color! I adore your sardine painting...sardines are having a moment for some reason. Ir love to buy either that sardine piece or another if you would sell one. Seriously, I would love to have one of them so please consider it. PLEASE!!!!!🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

The oval wooden plaques look like the bases of some figurines.
I use brown shoe polish over gold touch up to mute the brightness.
Your comment reminded me of one of my go-to solutions to spruce up dull-looking wooden picture frames:
I use Kiwi (or any brand of SHOE POLISH in a tin) and go over the wood a couple of times with the polish on a soft cotton rag.
You can do frames in blond wood or lots of different shades of dark wood using Neutral or Brown. The shoe polish will camouflage light scratches and dings and minor blemishes - they just disappear! Buff the frame with your cloth, and the polish won't transfer from the frame to anything else.
@cheryldavis8776 I love shoe polish on wood. It is just colored wax ...and it can be buffed to a shine just like dad's old shoes.
The jar that put the utensils in you could also use for paint brushes

The wooden carved box is from around 1905-1910. I have one that my great uncle made in 1906. It was the rage, at the time.

16:42 called a "Valet" and very "out of style" (a LOT of men do NOT wear suits to work anymore like they did in the 1950s ) . BUT it would be good if you're photographing CLOTHES for ebay photos .
The valet could also be used as a blanket holder/display.

The hooks on the brass bell are for a small mallet that would be used to ring the bell. And those Amber glasses are not glasses they are vases. They remind me of a purple vase that my mother got back in the 1950s.

The first couple of times I was offered a senior discount I was offended, and then I decided if they were going to deign to offer, I was going to say yes! 😂 Also - I think their “senior” threshold is 55 not 65. 😉
Lady at the bins said she thought we were the same age. I just turned 60 and she was in her 70s. Hard to bounce back from that comment, lol.

Chips are easy to fill. I take spackle to fill the chip. Next day smooth rough spots. Paint then if glossy, top with clear nail polish. I save many charming items. I disclose and price accordingly. Love your channel

Oh my so much to say on the Acrylics. Just bought Gamvar Satin varnish and Golden isolation coating. I’m all in, even if they sell at goodwill for $2.
As someone else mentioned you do only have to be 55 for senior discount. You definitely don’t look near that but neither does J-lo and she is! Lol

I would have bought the Roku. It looked like it just needed wiped off. Those two things that were oval that you didn't know what it is? You bought the light colored one. I think it is one of those things that the glass cover goes over.

Are you strictly a reseller or do you buy things for yourself? What cities do you mostly shop in? I am not a reseller but only shop at thrift stores when they have senior citizen discounts as I am on a super fixed income and don't even have a car or a Smartphone. I take the bus to thrift stores.
P.S. (Some) thrift stores, as some senior citizen apts, ,consider 55 + age to be considered a senior citizen age (instead of 65.) Depends on the thrift store though. Some consider 60 or 62 years old to be a ""senior citizen."
I buy for myself too. I try and buy secondhand before I go to somewhere like Target or the mall. Portland, OR has some of the best vintage shopping in the country so I tend to just shop locally.

My goodness, my intention was to certainly not slam older folks. I’m simply saying how I don’t want to look decades older than my age. That’s a pretty normal thing.
