I remember going for the first Harry Potter movie to the cinema in 2001, I was seven years old then. Now, this beginning of the new era of Harry Potter world gives me the same chills. I was so happy when I started watching "Fantastic Beasts..." in the cinema yesterday and I was so sad after it ended because first I thought that this was the end! But after coming home I instantly checked the info and again was full of happiness when I had read that there will be another 4 PARTS! I feel so nostalgic now
I remember how frightened I got on the "Secret Chamber", I even had to leave the hall and wait outside in the dark evening while my friend and parents watched the final... =)

I'm sure this will be decent enough. But if y'all are expecting the same kind of brilliance as the Harry Potter series, you might be disappointed. Expect something entirely new with no bias. Lord of the Rings vs. The Hobbit.
The problem with The Hobbit is that they stretched through 3 films a (brilliant) book which is 1/4 the size of The Lord of the Rings. When they announced the 2 films would be 3 instead, it was more than predictable. This one isn't based on any book (not one with a story, anyway) so the worst it can happen is the story not be any good.
I think another problem with the Hobbit was that with LOTR, Peter Jackson and his team had something to prove. The story was considered unfilmable and so they gave their all to make it work. With the Hobbit none of that motivation was left and it was just trying to make money.
I personally don't see any "problem" with The Hobbit, I just think people were disappointed because they were expecting something as good as, or better than, Lord of the Rings. I'm just warning that odds are quite strong that even if this film is great, it probably won't capture the same kind of magical je-ne-sais-quoi from the Harry Potter series.
I don't know, the Harry Potter film series wasn't that great, especially when David Yates took over. At least this film will have a talented lead actor.
Imho the Harry Potter movies were god awful. That might just be my bias because I loved the books though. WIth LOTR it's the other way 'round for me. I read the books after I had seen the first movie and I just can't stand the book(s)

JK ROWLING, DAVID YATES, EDDIE REDMAYNE and Of Course the music makes this movie is worth to watch. just watched this movie and i feel so blessed and happy, even i got teary eyed when the movie ends. this movie is so beautiful, and all the Beasts visualized so epic.
What I don't get is why everyone complains about the theme music. No one complained about the Star Wars theme being used in the prequels. (There was plenty of complaint about the prequels, but none about the music.) No one complains about Star Wars cartoons using the Star Wars theme. In fact, there would probably be complaints if they didn't use the Star Wars theme. Also, I noticed that while it's Hedwig's theme, it's a slightly different arrangement, just as the whole story is a slightly different arrangement. (Same universe, different characters, different place, different time.)
The Star Wars theme is exactly that though, the theme of Star Wars. HEDWIG's theme is the song used in this trailer. Hedwig isn't even alive during the events of this film. There is quite a difference.
Even though it's called that, it's used as a signature for the series. (Spoiler Alert: She's not alive in the second part of Deathly Hallows or most of the first part.)
Well... Star Wars are (at least had been so far, including Episode VII as far as I believe) the saga about Skywalkers. So using their theme (Main title) makes sence. The same as made sence, that Hedwig's theme was used in all eight Harry Potter movies, because it's associated to Harry himself. But - this isn't about Potter, is it? So using his theme is a bit off. Still - gave me chills, so... why even bother? Back to Star Wars at the end: music was always (ask Snape, he'll tell you) esential for them. It shaped the final experience the same as the visual, sometimes even more. With Harry Potter (even though it was also originally composed by Williams) it's a different story. I think Lucas (may we all forgive him the Prequels already) has a wonderful sence for music and he is well awared of its power. Williams is a brilliant composer, no doubt about that, but what he did with Star Wars is above all. And you can hear, that the OST for TFA (it being made without George) is... different. A little bit poor. The same thing happened in The Prisoner of Azkaban, but the other way around. Williams's score for the Stone and the Chamber was good enough, but in Azkaban, oh boy, what a treat! So playful. As the rest of the movie, thanks to Cuarón's vision. (Which leads me to one small "sigh": where are you, mr. Cuarón? Potter universe needs you!) ... got a little bit off track there, sorry about that. Have a nice day, guys.

Memory Charms, plus there aren't any quick cameras that can easily capture the events so even if some don't get hit with a memory charm then most people would just say they were crazy and they would just become tall tales told by crazy people as time went on.

Amazing movie, it was just magical, funny and whimsical but it had another plotline that was dramatic and exciting (kind of a dark storyline there). Overall just a great movie.

I'm sure this will be decent enough. But if y'all are expecting the same kind of brilliance as the Harry Potter series, you might be disappointed. Expect something entirely new with no bias.
Lord of the Rings vs. The Hobbit.
The problem with The Hobbit is that they stretched through 3 films a (brilliant) book which is 1/4 the size of The Lord of the Rings. When they announced the 2 films would be 3 instead, it was more than predictable.
This one isn't based on any book (not one with a story, anyway) so the worst it can happen is the story not be any good.
I think another problem with the Hobbit was that with LOTR, Peter Jackson and his team had something to prove. The story was considered unfilmable and so they gave their all to make it work. With the Hobbit none of that motivation was left and it was just trying to make money.
I personally don't see any "problem" with The Hobbit, I just think people were disappointed because they were expecting something as good as, or better than, Lord of the Rings.
I'm just warning that odds are quite strong that even if this film is great, it probably won't capture the same kind of magical je-ne-sais-quoi from the Harry Potter series.
I don't know, the Harry Potter film series wasn't that great, especially when David Yates took over. At least this film will have a talented lead actor.
Imho the Harry Potter movies were god awful. That might just be my bias because I loved the books though. WIth LOTR it's the other way 'round for me. I read the books after I had seen the first movie and I just can't stand the book(s)

What I don't get is why everyone complains about the theme music. No one complained about the Star Wars theme being used in the prequels. (There was plenty of complaint about the prequels, but none about the music.) No one complains about Star Wars cartoons using the Star Wars theme. In fact, there would probably be complaints if they didn't use the Star Wars theme.
Also, I noticed that while it's Hedwig's theme, it's a slightly different arrangement, just as the whole story is a slightly different arrangement. (Same universe, different characters, different place, different time.)

The Star Wars theme is exactly that though, the theme of Star Wars. HEDWIG's theme is the song used in this trailer. Hedwig isn't even alive during the events of this film. There is quite a difference.
Even though it's called that, it's used as a signature for the series. (Spoiler Alert: She's not alive in the second part of Deathly Hallows or most of the first part.)
Well... Star Wars are (at least had been so far, including Episode VII as far as I believe) the saga about Skywalkers. So using their theme (Main title) makes sence. The same as made sence, that Hedwig's theme was used in all eight Harry Potter movies, because it's associated to Harry himself. But - this isn't about Potter, is it? So using his theme is a bit off. Still - gave me chills, so... why even bother?
Back to Star Wars at the end: music was always (ask Snape, he'll tell you) esential for them. It shaped the final experience the same as the visual, sometimes even more. With Harry Potter (even though it was also originally composed by Williams) it's a different story. I think Lucas (may we all forgive him the Prequels already) has a wonderful sence for music and he is well awared of its power. Williams is a brilliant composer, no doubt about that, but what he did with Star Wars is above all. And you can hear, that the OST for TFA (it being made without George) is... different. A little bit poor. The same thing happened in The Prisoner of Azkaban, but the other way around. Williams's score for the Stone and the Chamber was good enough, but in Azkaban, oh boy, what a treat! So playful. As the rest of the movie, thanks to Cuarón's vision. (Which leads me to one small "sigh": where are you, mr. Cuarón? Potter universe needs you!)

Amazing movie, it was just magical, funny and whimsical but it had another plotline that was dramatic and exciting (kind of a dark storyline there). Overall just a great movie.
