For those interested, Dumbledore was born in 1881. That dude was _old!_ He was 115 or 116 by the end of the series. He was 99 years older than Harry. Fantastic Beasts takes place in 1926, (Lord Voldemort was born this year, on the 31st of December,) so I suppose Dumbledore is 44 or 45 if he's in this film.
He died at more than a hundred years old... That's not sad that's a long life (plus he was a huge jerk that let Harry suffer child abuse and led him to what should've been his death)

Anyone who's asking: The story takes place 70 years before Harry Potter. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a standard textbook in the Harry Potter book and movie series. This movie is a prequel to the Harry Potter, which follows the author of the book (Newt Scamander) and his adventures of writing the book. So Scamander was the author of the book which Harry and his friends were learning from. The fictional textbook was actually published in 2001 (written by Rowling).
I think it was pretty much pre-stablished since it was said in the announcement the year this movie is on. Besides, I believe the idea is that its not a prequel, but a spin off. Since there is no involvement of Newt Scamander in any of the Wizarding Wars.

Anyone who's asking: The story takes place 70 years before Harry Potter. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a standard textbook in the Harry Potter book and movie series. This movie is a prequel to the Harry Potter, which follows the author of the book (Newt Scamander) and his adventures of writing the book. So Scamander was the author of the book which Harry and his friends were learning from. The fictional textbook was actually published in 2001 (written by Rowling).

I think it was pretty much pre-stablished since it was said in the announcement the year this movie is on. Besides, I believe the idea is that its not a prequel, but a spin off. Since there is no involvement of Newt Scamander in any of the Wizarding Wars.

After all the book it was based off was actually pretty good for a spin off. And if that's not proof for you that this movie will be awesome then hear is two words, Ron Perlman l, that's right he's in this.
