Imagine hearing that in the cinema...I wouldn’t be able to watch the movie I was supposed to be watching properly since I’d be thinking about this all day long
+Dallas Nanes All of us just don't care about all the things you(HATERS) said. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE TYPE OF MOVIE OR SOMETHING ABOUT IT, COULD YOU BE QUIT PLEASE.
Just hearing the "Lumos" being said on screen again gave me goosebumps. HP Fandom let's just take a moment to appreciate our queen J.K for blessing us with more HP content, which we all so desperately crave.
It's 'historical backing' to the HP world and it's existence. Whilst it's not the prequel of James/ Lily/ Snape's days at Hogwarts that I personally dream about receiving, I'll take magical beasts and wizards over nothing.
+Modster Tbf the cursed child play comes out next year too which is a continuation of HP. Still the film makes me nervous, wasn't a big fan of the latter movies at all and feel one of the plus points of HP was JKRs writing ability, to translate that into a less verbose and more action heavy medium will be interesting to say the least.
Of course, but The Cursed Child wont be accessible to those of us in the Southern Hemisphere for quite a while, so I'll get Fantastic Beasts first. I know what you mean about being nervous for it though, her writing was always the biggest hook for me, but I believe she is said to have had a much more hands on role with setting/ character development in this movie that she had with the HP movies, so I do have hope that this will flow in a style more suited to her.
Bunny McPfeiff Hopefully. JKR's built a great world so I'm happy for any continuation from her. I just think it's a bit ominous she's not going down the route of writing book content for all this new stuff, probably due to it be more work and less lucrative than writing a movie script and then letting others produce it. That suggests to me it'd be closer to HP movie quality rather than book quality, but then again she's not really obliged to give us anything so I'll wait and see I guess. I won't complain if it's terrible, we still have the books, and if it's any good then all the better
+Tom Spiegel thats the only bad part he has played. Aside form JA, he has been incredible in each and every movie he appeared in. He has 2 standout performances in his resume at the moment: The theory of everything and the Danish Girl. And he was consistently great in Les Miserables and My week with Merilyn to name a few. You cant say he sucks just because of 1 terrible movie with a horrific script
This year was a bad year for WB. but next year holy shit ( Batman v Superman, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Conjuring 2, The legend of Tarzan, Suicide Squad) can't wait for this movies.
+Hal Jordan I don't know how I feel about BvS thus far, I hope Beasts is fantastic, not a Conjuring fan, Tarzan looks fun, and I'm very excited for Suicide Squad.
I'm a BIG Batman fan. Always have been. But their take on Lex Luthor makes me cringe and Doomsday...well...they added Doomsday lol. Brainiac, or even Bizarro...but Doomsday just doesn't sit well with me.
Lol and what's Lockhart supposed to do Let Newt Scamander do all the work and then use a memory wiping spell so Lockhart can claim all the deeds as his own
Really really looking forward to the movie though I gotta say this teaser makes me scared it won't live up to my expectations; but I am looking with nostalgic glasses and I am a huuuge fanboy of the harry potter universe so my expectations might've escalated a bit too far over the years. So worried they'll jack it up and it won't feel like harry potter when it doesn't take place in the UK.
Well it was Jk Rowling's idea to set it up in the United States and she did write the screen play so I have high hopes this will be as good as the Harry Potter series
+Munchies romero We still have two books they could base it on (Quidditch Through the Ages and the book of fairy tales Hermione got), and there's a play about Harry's children too. All of them are options I'd be interested to see c:
+Troy Grauel Technically Batman is right. This takes place before the events that happened in the eight Harry Potter movies, and there's a book that's in the Wizarding World called Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them which was written by Newt Scamander(A character in the HP Universe.) which this movie is talking about how that book became part of the Wizarding World. Hence the title: Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

+ZxAxify How can she be a cross between Fantastic Beasts and Hunger Games? She is obviously 100% Fantastic Beasts, as this is Fantastic Beasts. Maybe you meant a cross between Hunger Games and Harry Potter?
I didn't want it to be "done" after HP, but I didn't want them to mess with the HP story. Meaning like, extending Harry's story or redoing it. But I knew there was *so* much more they could do, movie-wise, with the franchise simply because of how vast and detailed the whole world & it's history was. They could (and *should*) do Dumbledore spin-off movies of his earlier years! The books got into *WAY* more detail about Dumbledore, his family, and his quest for power (which really casts him in a bit of bad light, in a manner of speaking) but still manages to keep him on the fringes of being a good guy; he's someone who just made some mistakes and l;et them get the better of him in his formative years. There is at LEAST a trilogy of movies they could do with that. Funny thing would be if they did like 5 movies about it and named each one after one of his names (Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore), which on one hand would be amazing because it would end on "Dumbledore", as sort of like a "coming into the person we know him as" sort of thing. But on the other hand it would be really odd for the 4th movie to be named "Brian" haha!
+The German Sisters God fuck it really feels so wrong. Look at that american minister? Is that freaking storm? Whats that on her head pineapple? just so messed up when I think about it. feels so wrong.
+The German Sisters seriously why in America when in British, things are more cultured and magical. I hope they dont mess up with my only series that I look up to, growing up.
+The German Sisters O gosh people come down! It's just that it is a British series and I personally think it should therefore take place in Britain. There are already so many movies that are set in America, so it would've been lovely to stay in Europe with this one. If you see it differently, you can. But stop cursing at me for no reason. Thank you.
Kinda disappointed they slapped it in an American setting just to pander. Harry Potter has always felt British, and now I'm worried it's going to just turn into Hollywood trash
+Tipsylou this film is currently still in production and being shot at Warner Bros. Leavesden studios in the UK. It is produced by David Heyman, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram (and others), all involved in previous Potter films. Director is David Yates, who also directed the last 4 Potter films. With Rowling as a screenwriter, the crew will pretty much be like it was on Potter. Just because the story is set in New York (with a British main character), does not mean it will suddenly turn in to 'Hollywood trash'.
+Tipsylou "No mention of America is ever made in the book." Yet, J.K. Rowling herself just announced that there are 11 wizarding schools on Pottermore, and also one in America. I trust Jo on this, as well as the rest of the production team that were directing the Harry Potter movies.
+qarahiyo that's not possible McGonagall was born in 1935 and newt's first edition of this book was published in 1918(52nd edition in 1927). This was before her time, this movie is only set in the wizarding world, it has no connects (maybe some easter eggs) to the hp story
That was an evil tease. I liked it. I love how the theme is so similar to the Harry Potter music. Was that the president of the Magical Congress as well?? These next 11 months are going to go by sooo slow.
2016 is gonna be a hell of a year for films! There's Batman vs Superman, Captain America: Civil War, Suicide Squad, Finding Dory, Allegiant, and of course... FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM! Wow, I can't wait till this year is over! :D
The book was based hundreds and hundreds of years before Harry Potter and Tom Riddle, I think they've just modernised the movie a bit so don't get you hopes up to much!
+Pmunnzy Actually Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them was a compilation of notes written in 1918 and wasn't fully published until the year 1927. So it didn't take place hundreds and hundreds of years before Harry Potter.
But what if the movie won't turn out good. Like in deathly hallowed part 2 the 20 years later scene was terrible even the producer and screenwriters hated it so imagine it as a 2 hour movie.....oh god it hurts my brain to think bout that scene
+YouiXpCreeper1 What the fuck are you saying? Deathly Hallows part one is the least favorite out of the 2 and it got high ratings on crtics and people alike
"Invites you to return" *sobbing* This actually makes me realize that I wasn't ready to let this magical world go, I never was :D thank god I now don't have to anymore
.....I have *no idea* what's going on in this Trailer. Sure, I don't want a Trailer to spoil everything, but I _do_ want some idea of what this movie's going to be about.
I love how the direction of first ever trailer of Fantastic Beasts is like Tina as the narrator of the story. And her line "Mr. Scamander!" become iconic
+Connie B. From the descriptions we've had so far of the film, it sounds like the actual antagonists are a group of anti-wizard no-majs (muggles) nicknamed the Second Salemers.
+Connie B. well this is before the rise of tom riddle but so lord voldamort dosn't exist at this point but there shuld be at least some dark wizards in this
I'm not really sure about a Harry Potter-verse film set it in the US. The Chinese wizarding world, the Indonesian wizarding world, the Persian wizarding world, the Greek wizarding world - they all sound absolutely amazing. Seriously, I bet Indonesian wizards would be awesome. But an American wizarding world? It kinda takes the magic out of it for me. Part of the allure of the British wizarding world in Harry Potter is how old everything is - there is a sense that it everything has grown organically since at least the time of Merlin. It's contradictory, it's mish-mashed and there is centuries of tradition in almost everything. America has its own appeal - but not in a way that fits with Harry Potter. To me, at least. I'm probably going to pretend this film doesn't exist - which is a shame because I really like Eddie Redmayne.
naruto minato That would be awesome! I can just see him and Luna travelling the world looking for wild sphinx in Egypt or Tanzanian Rocs. Exploring indigenous wizarding cultures of the Americas and 'new world' would also be interesting. For example, maybe looking for Mayan mythical creatures in the Yucatan. Provided it was done sensitively of course.
Setareh Rezvani Because, like I said, an American Wizarding World takes the magic out of it for me. Pollutes it. I would rather they never made _Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them_ at all than make it set in New York. Maybe that's spiteful and it certainly is nonsensical. But what can you do? It's an emotive topic for me.
This film is based on a 2001 book (same name) by JK Rowling who I remember reading actually has a personal connection to New York City. Besides, The British can't really write stuff about Asia without looking inherently racist and ignorant. I mean Rowlings creation of the HP character Cho Chang was pretty racist. In Chinese and Korean culture, the surname actually goes in front of the given name. For example, if someone is called 'Park Min-joon', 'Min-joon' is the given name while 'Park' is the surname. Cho Chang is ignorant and possibly racist because 'Cho' is generally a Korean surname while 'Chang' is generally a Chinese surname (hence she has 2 surnames) and if that were the case, her given name should be Chang and not Cho. Calling an Asian Cho Chang is like calling an African character Ooga Booga.
JTN L 필리핀 The fact that many in East Asian cultures the surname comes first is pretty common knowledge. As in, I've known that since I was a kid. I highly doubt JK Rowling was unaware. Almost all people of East Asian descent living in the UK adopt the Western naming convention in day to day life. Personally, I know plenty of British-raised people from Hong Kong. It's never an issue. They themselves always use family name last when speaking English. Cho Chang might be a racist caricature in other ways - but that isn't one of them. In the context of a English-language book set in the UK featuring a British-raised character, it'd be weirder if she was referred to as 'Chang Cho' Besides, I wasn't just talking about East Asian cultures, I was thinking more globally. I agree that you have to be careful not to stereotype cultures as an outsider - but frankly it seems just as bad if not worse to pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist.
man, was i the only one who was reading "fantastic beats and where to find them"? i clicked because i was like, who the fuck named the movie like that lmao but hey, looks great!
I don't mind if this movie is made sequel to hundreds of titles in the future... "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them, and what ... and when... and why... and which... and how... and bla bla bla" :P
+Antonia Rommel I dont think they were criticizing the film, just saying that even if it was called "Harry Potter and the god awful waste of 2 and a half hours" they would still enjoy it
bullshit. how can this 'reality' be far more magical than all those magics in Harry Potter movies?? don't try to rationalize just because you simply want to sound 'positive'.
Magic not real,, black magic it's real,, but it's danger,, yes you will be Super human, but your soul will in hell forever...all magic its black magic,, Demons grant you power, there is no such good magic in rel life..
Cindytv well thats thats your opinon. Yeah what about white magic for good.. lets say for I had magic power.. for good and hero.. I will have a white magic.. for good. And well its depence on people.. Depence
I would love a prequel which included James, Lily, Sirius, Remus ect ect. That or an extension of Dumbledore's story I mean in the book it was pretty interesting and dark.
I got goosebumps watching this

There are two scenarios

I listen to it, and think that it could be so much louder and more intense. But yea, I was thinking that.
" Invites you to return to the Wizarding World" we never left
Woman at 0:43 looks like a cross between Fantastic Beasts and Hunger Games
ikr! kinda look like thr capitol citizen
+Rahma Matsna Aulia i agree
I thought the same thing!
+ZxAxify How can she be a cross between Fantastic Beasts and Hunger Games? She is obviously 100% Fantastic Beasts, as this is Fantastic Beasts. Maybe you meant a cross between Hunger Games and Harry Potter?
+ZxAxify and I don't like that.
"Invites you to return"?!BITCH PLEASEI NEVER LEFT
this is from a tumblr post dude
omg wait it's you!! I thought it's some random person... Sorry sis.............
+Merida Of Clan DunBroch TRUE STORY
+DεϻΘͷ ϭῖrl yeah agree with u
lmaooo I feel you
I didn't want it to be "done" after HP, but I didn't want them to mess with the HP story.
I agree, a dumbledore spinoff would be nice, or a marauders. But i'm quite happy with fantastic beasts
+Fyrecide Don't forget his brother practicing "inappropriate" charms on a goat!
I will take anything i can get
it's down to Jo
YAASSSSS TELL ME MORE ABOUT DUMBLEDORE AS A KID!!!! That would be FANTASTIC.
SO BASICALLY, the plot of Goosebumps
+deadphishiy No... The animals didn't escape a book. Nice try, though.
Yep. AND Inkheart. I guess the originality has faded away for most movies.
I fail to see how you've either disputed my claim.
"disputed my claim". I said you were wrong. How else would like me to word it.
***** So you think because of one tiny little difference their plots aren't the same? LOL
I am pregnant!!!!!!!
+Rickshawali Shame on you!!!
+Rickshawali Hahahhahahaahahaha
+Rickshawali Not again!!!!
+Dark Knight You are here too!!!
+Rickshawali So am I.
Harry Potter Episode I: The Phantom Beast and Where to find the Menace
+Spetsnaz Beaver Voldemort is the key to all of this.....
Yo Raritydash Want to go skateboards It's so dense. Every single image has so many things going on.
+Spetsnaz Beaver What is it with Ricks?
Ben Amos They may have gone too far in a few places
***** Ah Harry thinks magic is his ally? He merely adopted the magic. Newt was born in it, molded by it.
We're going back to Hogwarts! (well, maybe not LITERALLY Hogwarts, but you get the point)
Most of us never left.
Same. I never left
+Chloe Watts-Calkin such a cliché.. grow up
+Chloe Watts-Calkin never has a truer statement been spoken. Read your comment and felt such nostalgia. Thank you for making my day.
+Catmagic123 You're kidding, right? please tell me you're kidding...
That intro. is chilling! "Lumos Maxima..."
I'm not sure if I like the fact that it's set in America....
Thank you.
This isn't Harry Potter. It's an entirely different story. There is more world than just the UK people. And a lot of it has just as much magic.
Yeah I heard the police force in the movie are very eager to use the Avada Kedavra spell
I am so ready for this!
I'm WAYYYYY too excited for this movie!!! I have missed this magical universe ❤️❤️❤️
+princessangel999 SOOO MANY FEELS!!!
+princessangel999 Can't waitt
ME TOO
Kinda disappointed they slapped it in an American setting just to pander. Harry Potter has always felt British, and now I'm worried it's going to just turn into Hollywood trash
No mention of America is ever made in the book.
***** it doesn't detract from my original comment
+Tipsylou I agree but the main character is British and I think it will be good to see other places
i heard Professor McGonagall 1:21
me too :)
When?
+qarahiyo Well it's Tina's voice (played by Katherine Waterstone)
+qarahiyo that's not possible McGonagall was born in 1935 and newt's first edition of this book was published in 1918(52nd edition in 1927). This was before her time, this movie is only set in the wizarding world, it has no connects (maybe some easter eggs) to the hp story
+qarahiyo The voice is to young to have been Maggie Smith and her character wasn't born until the 30s.

That was an evil tease. I liked it. I love how the theme is so similar to the Harry Potter music. Was that the president of the Magical Congress as well?? These next 11 months are going to go by sooo slow.
+Justin Miller How do you know?
***** Mary Lou is a muggle... I'm talking about the woman in the Magical Congress...
+TEC1
Maybe because he read the book and just assumed?
Cameron MacLean What book? lol. Fantastic Beasts is just a textbook with no real story. The movie isn't actually based on it.
Ravenclaw1991
Is it not? Oh, I never read it! :P I feel like such an idiot now.
Did you hear Professor McGonagall at 1:20 ?
"Mr. Scamander"
+Ankit Hooda Thats what i heard too!
i hope so
+Ankit Hooda Professor Mcgonnagal wasn't born until the mid 1930s. This film takes place in 1926.
Omg yes!
+Ankit Hooda I did too!!!!!
Don't mention Star Wars ,Star Trek beyond , TMNT 2 , Tarzan , the jungle book , the BFG, and x men apocalypse.
+Raven-Tyler DA actually star wars releases tomorrow
+Max Legaspi Im french and Han solo dead in star wars 7, his son kill them. bye
Raven-Tyler DA yup those as well but I was just thinking from the top of my head. :)
+Samiha Rifayat Fuck the other movies, only this matters
if this is set in 1900s does that mean there will be a mention of Tom riddle he was born in 1902 and died in 1943
+Helen Bramwell That would be awesome!
You mean Tom Riddle as in Voldemort's father right?
The book was based hundreds and hundreds of years before Harry Potter and Tom Riddle, I think they've just modernised the movie a bit so don't get you hopes up to much!
+Pmunnzy Actually Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them was a compilation of notes written in 1918 and wasn't fully published until the year 1927. So it didn't take place hundreds and hundreds of years before Harry Potter.
+Tino Spiker Voldemort's father? What? Tom Riddle was Voldemort before his appearance changed
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
WTF hello haaz I'm a fan lol and happy birthday from a few days ago!
Gogh haka pas pro yri
Gaming nerd
ohh, cool. Hazz is here
Ily Hazz
I just read the Philosopher's Stone and I was so surprised seeing first years required *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander*
Eddie Redmayne fits the role, he totally looks like he'd be apart of the wizarding world
i was kinda hoping that if they created a new Harry Potter like thing that it would be about Harry and Ron's kids honestly
+wariolandgoldpiramid But we want a book or movie (or both!), not a play...
But what if the movie won't turn out good. Like in deathly hallowed part 2 the 20 years later scene was terrible even the producer and screenwriters hated it so imagine it as a 2 hour movie.....oh god it hurts my brain to think bout that scene
YouiXpCreeper1 what are you talking about? I loved the epilogue scene
+YouiXpCreeper1 What the fuck are you saying? Deathly Hallows part one is the least favorite out of the 2 and it got high ratings on crtics and people alike
+Paul Francis Goneda yeah I know that and did I forget to say it was my opinion? Shesh dude chill
Why are all the comments in portuguese?
+Lauritz Wiesinger because the world are hue BR.

"Invites you to return" *sobbing* This actually makes me realize that I wasn't ready to let this magical world go, I never was :D thank god I now don't have to anymore
Be still my heart... Seriously, you can't take this kind of pressure, you're too overweight
+KidBehindACamera Hi Michael :)
The title of this movie sounds like a drunk guy trying to remember the name of 'Where the Wild Things Are'.
+Andy Pandy The title of the movie is the title of a Hogwarts text book
Exactly
"Invites you to return."

.....I have *no idea* what's going on in this Trailer.
Sure, I don't want a Trailer to spoil everything, but I _do_ want some idea of what this movie's going to be about.
Says it's just an "announcement" trailer... In other words: a teaser.
+Paradox Acres there are fantastic beasts, and now they need to find them.
+Paradox Acres Literally the idea of what this movie is about is in THE TITLE. Wow. Context clues, man. Context clues.
+Daniel J It's actually 10 months away. BE POSITIVE

The real question is, are there going to be any dark wizards in this movie? They are the best part......* cough* Malfoy's*****cough ***
Yeeees😂😂
+TheColorOfCaramel im not sure, because they havent been born, but no idea if what you mean is their elder:)
well I heard the voice of professors McGonagall at the end.
+Connie B. From the descriptions we've had so far of the film, it sounds like the actual antagonists are a group of anti-wizard no-majs (muggles) nicknamed the Second Salemers.
+Connie B. well this is before the rise of tom riddle but so lord voldamort dosn't exist at this point but there shuld be at least some dark wizards in this
they had me on lumos maxima
+n4m1k RIGHT!!! #FantasiChills

I'm probably going to pretend this film doesn't exist - which is a shame because I really like Eddie Redmayne.
hopefully it will not stay at america .I wish that the character would travel the world. And maybe this is the start of the movie.
naruto minato That would be awesome!
In the context of a English-language book set in the UK featuring a British-raised character, it'd be weirder if she was referred to as 'Chang Cho'
Besides, I wasn't just talking about East Asian cultures, I was thinking more globally. I agree that you have to be careful not to stereotype cultures as an outsider - but frankly it seems just as bad if not worse to pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist.
SÓ EU QUE PERCEBI QUE O BRASIL TA COMANDANDO ISSO AQUII?? ❤️❤️😍😍😍

I don't mind if this movie is made sequel to hundreds of titles in the future... "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them, and what ... and when... and why... and which... and how... and bla bla bla" :P
+Siska Yuliawati we dont need a title to love a movie.
so true watch the last 4 Harry Potter movies yesterday. just for fun
+Antonia Rommel I dont think they were criticizing the film, just saying that even if it was called "Harry Potter and the god awful waste of 2 and a half hours" they would still enjoy it
I wish magic were real... because real-life / real-world / reality sucks & boring...
i hope, actually i know, at some point of your life you will find the magic in real world
bullshit. how can this 'reality' be far more magical than all those magics in Harry Potter movies?? don't try to rationalize just because you simply want to sound 'positive'.
Omg same I know how you feel... mate
Depence

I canny believe a whole year to wit for this film, gosh I may not be alive and to think I will have missed this :( why why advertise it so early...
+Connie Sinclair Maybe they will come out with a hibernation machine XD
AND WE DANCE. Well we can only hope :)
A couple people have been running the numbers and that would make her over 100 during the Potter Movies :P
I would love a prequel which included James, Lily, Sirius, Remus ect ect. That or an extension of Dumbledore's story I mean in the book it was pretty interesting and dark.
Same here.
WAS THAT MCGONAGALLS VOICE AT THE END???
+NunoDanid I had the same impression!!!! Lets hope the answer is YES
+NunoDanid No, sadly. It was still the same woman as before (Mary Lou, played by Samantha Morton).
Own.... ok.
Porpentina, played by Katherine Waterston. That's her name.
I love the look of this. It looks like it's going to be so much fun. Can't wait.
