I loved animals so much I wanted to study zoology, but silly me I shifted my focus to graphic art xD Anyhow, I can definitely relate to enjoying an animal's company more than a human lol Especially if it were magical!

honestly im really excited to see how different the magic society is for wizards in america. it must be so different than harry potter bc itsin a totally different time period, its on a different continent, they are not in a mideval type school and instead in new york city, and a whole new set of adult characters instead of kids. it seems really cool to me

If the body is in a bad condition, i.e. feeble and weak, then the soul can go on and find a new body (like Quirrel's death). So even if Volde's body was old and he felt like it was dragging him back, then he can always just leave it to find a new one. He clearly didn't do this, so probably felt happy with how the old body was working.
I still have the two little paperback books that Rowling released as pseudo-textbooks back when...ohh...probably the first four books hadn't even been written yet? Quiddich Through the Ages and Fantastic beasts and Where to Find Them. Both books had fake handwriting in Harry's, Ron's and Hermione's hand writing little quips under certain beasts.
