Daniel would win. Eddie (Newt) was kicked out of Hogwarts and has fewer experience with fighting another wizard
He was kicked out of Hogwarts because of Leta Lestrange. He took the blame on himself for something Leta did. Truly heartbreaking and truly Hufflepuffy. As you can see at the end of the movie, he can get pretty useful with his animals around him. He is also not bad at spells and he is simply older and has so much experience with dangerous animals.

You're not wrong when the originally potter movies changed hands for the third movie, the new director wanted wands to be more personal and unique so they did a redesign and JK was very involved

If Daniel Radcliffe thought that Newt's wand was ostentatious, wait until he sees some of the American wands.... lol. Seraphina, Queenie, and Graves all have beautifully designed wands. Very impressive task, since there are four different wandmakers in North American. Yet the prop department was able to meld, each wandmaker's signature with each character's personality.

i could see how he badly wanted to be in the Harry Potter universe, learned from the comments that he auditioned for many roles and couldn't get them. But hey, look now after years, he gets to play Newt, the character that wrote Harry's textbook, with his own legend and Eddie portrays Newt so perfectly, a gentle & kind man with a huge passion towards fantastic beasts.

I actually really loved the way he cast spells with wand in the movie, there are no over-dramatic movements involved, just very casual and calm, which makes it just 10 times cooler.
