How To Fix A Mouse That Is Going Crazy On A PC

- If your mouse cursor is moving when you are not moving your mouse then this video might be able to help you out. Rectifying that issue is generally a matter of making sure that your batteries are fresh if you're using a wireless mouse. If that doesn't solve the problem then unplugging and plugging your mouse back in is the next step. If either of those two steps don't work then uninstalling and reinstalling your mouse drivers is your third option. You may also want to disable your touchpad if you're on a laptop. As always, process of elimination is the methodology to use.

Finally, after trying everything this worked. I've removed both drivers listed under "Mice and other devices" and asked for reboot. After that, mouse started working perfectly. I'm a laptop user with a wired mouse.
Same here bro mine seems to be having weird selection issues. Haven't got a solution for that issue. 😥😓🙈
Thank you so much, Dave.
For a moment I was scared that I got a malware. Turns out it was my touch pad being too sensitive.
Wow..my mouse cursor was moving constantly. I just removed one of the HID-compliant mouse and everything back to normal. Thanks a lot!
I changed the mouse, and everything was back to normal.
I unplugged it and it's still happening I have a trackpad though
Yes me too
Bruh I changed it and it's still happening
@@drakesayshi3321 just delete all the mouse from it and then connect it back it worked foe me
Not for me
THANK YOU. My mouse went crazy. I changed the battery in my mouse like you suggested and now I can actually do my work again. You are a genius. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Love it, I'm facing this issue from past 2 days but couldn't find any solution than I watched your video and this issue is solved in less than 5 minutes, thank you so much!!!
It is not moving by itself, but it is acting strange, like it like clicks on stuff by itself some moments when I just move it, not clicking it. Sometimes, I do circles with my finger on the mouse pad, and the mouse cursor does not do a perfect circle, but a TRIANGLE. It happens a bit, but now more frequent. May need help!!
Thanks my man
I Cleaned The Scan Thing
And It Worked
I Thought It was Having A Seizure
everytime i restart my computer its still there and having a seizure please help
Try to shut down dont restart
Mine was like the cursor moving like crayzy and clicking stuffs
@@hatakeuzumaki8083 oh I bought a new mouse its fine now :)
@@hatakeuzumaki8083 Thanks so much, been restarting my laptop over and over and nothing but shutdown just now worked 💯
@@avenal8436 I tried using a different mouse, but it still happens, maybe it’s because they’re both Logictech?
Thanks for the info. The main problem is that in order to do these steps, the mouse has to be able to click on the objects needed to troubleshoot. In my case, I have no control of the mouse.
Get a backup wired mouse. This might be more of a wireless mouse issue. This only happens on my wireless mouse
Oh my GOSH! I had the opposite problem. I kept moving my mouse and it wouldn't budge except when it wanted to randomly. I did all the steps you said and now it works. You're awesome Thank you!
u mean when u move it it randomly moves up?
You are a genius! I tried everything in other videos. You mentioned wireless mouse. My wireless mouse had turned on inside my travel bag without me knowing, causing the issue. Thank you.
I tried these tips on my surface - what finally worked was unplugging the surface pad and then plugging it back in.
my mouse clicked this for me when i searched it
Good mouse
It may also be caused by overheating of the processor. At least that's what caused it for me on my older computer.
this worked so well i have been having this problem for years and no video worked permanently this is the best video to fix your mouse thank you so much
What I found online that actually worked for me....I unplugged my charger. I found that suggestion online and it actually worked. I'm shocked but thought I would share since I understand how frustrating it is.
Lol who uninstalled and can't access your mice give a like 😂😂😂
For newer Windows 10 updates, ie: from May 2021 and onwards, search up device manager instead of this pc, which when clicked will open up in settings.
Thank you. I had to uninstall BOTH drivers and restart my laptop twice, then it was back to normal. Thanks again
This helped! My curser was glitching the hour glass consistently and wouldn't stop. Deleting the drivers is what fixed it for me. Thank you!
Thank you so much. My cursor was driving me insane for days; almost made my computer un-useable. I put a new battery in the mouse, and it's working perfectly again.
omg it works for me yeay! I just having the thoughts to buy the new one and you saved me from that, thank you!
Had my mouse going crazy and I thought I was being hacked. Cursor was randomly moving and clicking icons opening windows and terminal randomly unplugged replugged power cycle and more. Didn't realize I had my wireless earbuds on bamboo tablet with magnets controlling the cursor.🤦🏾♂️
Same exact thing for me
I usually have a charger plugged in so I can attach a controller
What
I have wireless headphones attached all the time
For everyone asking how to do this without the use of a mouse, just click the windows logo button on the keyboard and search device manager, once device manager is up, just spam the tab key and press the arrow down key to navigate through the options and when you reach the mice and other pointing devices option just click right arrow button and then down arrow, after that just select your
Mouse and press enter and then try to uninstall or disable it, and now you can carry on with what the video says
It worked! Thanks. As soon as I uninstalled the first one, problem was fixed. Awesome!
A Quick tip for a shortcut because you cant move your mouse or it will become motion again type device manager it's a beeline to the panel go to 1:20 also click stuff with your built in mouse not the wireless one hope this is more helpful!
OMG! So one of your commenters said to just put your finger briefly on the touchpad, AND IT WORKED!!!!!!! Problem solved without going through all that uninstalling mess. Thanks!!!!
I have a cracked screen and the mouse battery is fine and didn’t run out yet, it’s just that I think the crack is causing for the mouse to do that bc every second I try and move my mouse the mouse moves by it self and go to the top of the screen where the crack is. And it blinks too
This is great info but what I found out is that I turned the touchpad off but it was still checked to operate with the mouse. So I turned the touchpad on, unchecked to work with the mouse then turned it off (again) and my problem is over, My computer is 2 years old and this little fix may not work with older computers/laptops.😎
You’re a savior! Great teacher. Keep it up sir.
I am so stupid turns out I had my wired mouse connected and it was in a weird spot where it would make my mouse shake lol
Lol same xd
Hatake Uzumaki lol
When the first time I got that mouse cursor moving on its own and becoming crazy, I laughed so hard and I dying of laughter.😂😂😂
the first method worked for me!! thank you
How am I suppose to do all this if my mouse cursor is glitching and stays at same position
It never asked me if I wanted to reinstall the drivers...Once I uninstalled it, the mouse clicker disappeared...But once I restarted the computer with a hard start I assume the thing was reinstalled...
Thanks man! My cursor was having a seizure but it's okay now.
thanks dude after 30 minutes of hell trying to click mice and other pointing device finally the problem is solved
This ended up not being my problem. Turns out I had my drawing tablet leaning against something, and despite not being near the stylus, it was acting like it was.
DUDE THANK YOU, I WAS WONDERING WHAT THE HELL WAS HAPPENING 💜💜💜
Because of you I figured out why my mouse was going crazy... I am stupid istg 😔😔😔
If your mouse is moving in one side then, to fix this issue you can constantly press the No 6 key(->) and use your mouse untill it is solved...just press hold that key on keyboard after Num lock. I try because my mouse pointer was going in one direction only in windows 11.
thanks for the instrutions. it did not resolved my mouse issue but it definetly reduced it. from moving all the time to moving every hour or so
My mouse changes from normal size to the tiny one. I have no idea how to fix this. This happens unexpectedly.
The option to disable my touchpad is not there. For all of my other devices it shows up.
My mouse moved by itself then I realized that my pen is on the touchpad
So I did it and it worked but, my mouse has this problem where it stops when I try and move the mouse around.
I'mma tell ya somethign Dave fixed my problem lika charm! Thanks for the vid!
Daves hint was right on and i had trouble hitting the links in the device manager too but sometimes you can solve this by disconnecting the mouse if its usb or if you have a different mouse connect it this may load a different driver. cheers
For me , My mouse's middle click was stuck and it kept jumping click the scroll wheel for a little and see if it helps 🙏
For everyone, if your mouse is constantly moving, just hold the touch pad with ur fingers and do all that,I hope it helps, I did the same and it worked for me..
lol, it worked 😂😂
i've try it and it's dosen't work, even research for viruses and it's dosen't work, I bought my pc mouse before a week and I tought that it's amazing but turns out that he's horrible.
My pointer keeps going up for some reason like it continues to just go up like 10 times can anyone help me?
Same, please help
i try to remove the device and then removed the wireless controler from USB port and it really worked - Thanks David for this video ; so many other video in youtube is waste except this video - so much thanks dear
I cant do that cause my mouse is stuck at top left and when ever I try to move it it dosent work it glitches back to the top left
My mouse wants to go in the opposite direction then I am trying make it go.

For those wondering how to click all of these stuff, try turning off the touchpad in settings, (devices). You should use your mouse, so that you have something to click with :)
The mouse still clicks on its own and I can’t do anything , and I got the laptop for Christmas and now setting it up
how tf am i supposed to go to settings and turn of touchpad IF MY FUCKING MOUSE IS SPAZZING?

But you can use the tab button, move it around the button you want to click and press enter/space to turn it off/on.
thank you! it worked! it was a driver issue🤣 i thought it was being hacked, now its good
I had no configuration problem and I found out later that the problem is caused by the bad power supply generated by my adapter since I plugged my charger in a bad power source
My cursor does, is have like as if it were clicking while constantly disappearing and reapperaing in the top right area of my laptop screen only when I am away from the laptop if I don't close the screen to make it go into sleep mode.
umm de-installed the driver but no prompt to reboot what do i do?
my mouse keeps randomly right-clicking, i tried the mouse on a different laptop, and it still keeps randomly right clicks and the scroll is broken, it keeps scrolling up and down uncontrollably.
My mouse keeps pressing the top left corner and when I try and do something it auto clicks and it’s so annoying 🤬🤬🤬!!!

@NoticeMeSenpai damn thats tough
@NoticeMeSenpai ?
i don't touch my mouse but it keeps going down on its own like if i wanna watch a yt video it just keeps endlessly going down and i can't push it back up
When I’m playing Minecraft on laptop it will just randomly click and when I’m not on Minecraft it doesn’t happen.
I have a touchscreen laptop is it bc of sweat or smth? Bc i am worried
When I open a ms word, the cursor starts moving in rows and is uncontrollable.
So I do have this problem with the mouse which is a little bit shaky, so when I don't move my mouse, the cursor is unstable, so this is resolvable.
Its probably because my new fresh battery is broken or something because I put another fresh battery in my wireless mouse and it works just fine.
I doesn't work. I've accidentally deleted MID Complain thing and now I'm screwed
My mouse always stop forever randomly and I have to turn off my laptop for it to work but it'll always happen
Dude! My hero! Thank you.
Mine just keeps clicking things, also it keeps freezing out of place and teleport when I try to move the mouse cursor by using the touchpad
Both touchpad and wireless mouse, the mouse cursor still keeps moving and doesn't even follow my movements accurately anymore.
thanks. Because of you i found out that my mouse was shaking because I had another forgotten wifi mouse connected
Why nobody is stating the other possiblity? I unplugged my mouse and it's still doing it on my laptop
So how exactly do we press this if said mouse is going nuts?
my mouse is not working right. when i left click, it is trying to take things with it. i just wanna remove it and have the computer reinstall the mouse/touchpad.
l have a mouse that spam right all the time whenever, i move my mouse around. When i move my mouse around it starts clicking insanely even tho i didnt click.
If my mouse is going nuts, how am I supposed to right click
Thanks, my issue was my mouse on certain programs would drift to the left and wont stop drifting left. But after doing this step by step it fixed. thanks.
Thank you so much. I didn’t think I would be able to fix it.
Edit: never mind, it was my mouse software that was the problem
Thanks a bunch David, your explanation was so clear and pointed. El Teira from Libya
I did everything. Still not working. I got a wired mouse. I can't see any option under the mouse
Every time I point it at something it clicks on its own how do I fix that
So i touch my touchpadwhile my mouse is going crazy then it stops but comes back again does that mean its a problem with my touchpad?
I broken one mouse and was almost breaking the new one and the issue was dead battery.
Thank you so much!
okay I got a question, my mouse is a wired one and it clicks on its own how can I fix that, do I do it the same way or is there anything else?
My touchpad on my windows 10 laptop was moving by itself all over the place.... its clicking by itself too, I'm not sure what to do...
Same here
Did you fix it? I figured mine out pretty easily so if not I could help you out
Same problem... Pointer moving on its own.. Can't do anything
@@sonysadanand3078 I have a fix for that but it would require an external mouse to navigate the computer in order to solve the problem. If you have an external mouse I'll help you fix this.

everytime i move my mouse to fast it goes down or stop/goes back when i swipe it to left it goes back to the right, its choppy it wont move freely and fastly.
I unplugged my USB mouse and disabled the TouchPad and yet my cursor keeps moving only upwards... Can you suggest a solution for that. Thanks
Holy shit I was so worried I thought I'd been hacked and was panicking, thank you so much man!
My side backwards / side button doesn't work if used in combination with the left button. Any ideas what could be the cause? Searched the web, but other people with the same issue can't find a solution to it. Maybe you can shed some light on it
WTF. He is the robot from the future. Ha caught you 1:57
I am unable to properly uninstall the driver. When I click Uninstall it shows that it was uninstalled and disappears from the list, however, the mouse keeps moving and it does not prompt me to restart the PC. Any ideas how else you can actually uninstall the driver?
