- Fix: Mouse Cursor Moving on Its Own (Solved)
Sometimes when you're using your computer, your cursor will seemingly move on its own. Don't call the exorcists just yet, though; there are several reasons why a cursor can move about without you moving the mouse.
If your mouse is moving on its own, you should address the problem right away. Some of the issues causing the motion can get even worse with time if left unattended.
Issues addressed in this tutorial:
mouse cursor moving on its own
why is my mouse cursor moving on its own
mouse cursor moving on its own mac
razer mouse cursor moving on its own
mouse cursor moving on its own windows 11
why is my computer mouse cursor moving on its own
ThinkPad mouse cursor moving on its own
mouse cursor moving on its own and opening files
mouse cursor moving on its own laptop
mouse cursor moving on its own and clicking
mouse cursor moving on its own app
Recently a friend told me that its mouse cursor moves on its own. In particular, the mouse cursor on his laptop moves slowly to the left side of the screen and makes it difficult to click on anything on the screen.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.

My mouse is going crazy 😭💀
It's like it controls itself now

Lol 😂
I've lost count of how many times I have warned the ghost in my house to stay away from my stuff!
Like, "Mess with anything but, you better not mess with my computer!"😂😂
Lol
Here is a fun fact. Mouse slowly move even when it is unplugged. This only happens on windows 10. This is my case. it happens randomly. Windows restart fix it but its really annoying when working. Sometimes it fixes itself out of nowhere without doing anything...
I have the exact same issue, did you manage to fix it by any chance?
@@sherbee2416 Nope, it always randomly come and go... I did much searching regarding this but no clear solution so far
Does your mouse move to the corners? Mine keeps going to the top right and bottom left really quickly or slowly, no idea what it is
@@sleepppokaho9728 Yeah, same
same I did everything might be a virus also when I open an app it just opens it a million more times
Outstanding. That is, this stands out from so many bad tutorials that makes me wonder if clear, to-the-point, understandable instruction is a thing of the past. THANK YOU
Glad it helped!
What if you can’t click anything because the mouse wont respond because it keeps moving? 😅
yea plz what can i doooo😢
exactly😂
Precisely my comment and continuing challenge. I can't do a thing on my PC as the cursor won't stop moving and won't allow me to control it at all...
@@markloberg905 hi, did u fixed it?
What I did is restart computer and as soon as your desktop appears immediately go to control panel before the mouse starts moving on its own. There slow down your mouse to the lowest capacity under control panel (mouse options). This helps with system restore and other options. This video is useless for not explaining what to do if you have no mouse to work with.
its not my mouse, i unpluged it and still doing the same it goes all over mostly to the top left corner and at times opens other files etc its my pc its messed up
Same thing for me
@@Jessiegames287 i figured out the problem and solved it for me, it had to do with a conflict with my touchscreen, for some reason i had two touch screen progs and i figured they were interfering with each other , so i decided to simply disable both of them for now and the problem has gone away and never returned, if you got touchscreen option then go into device manager and look under human interface devices to find the touch screen program, either you may have two of them running that is causing the conflict or if you only got one check to see if you got latest driver if that don't work i suggest you disable it and see if that solves it

Any fix?
This would be helpful it the mouse would move where I want it. I am so frustrated, anyone know I think I might have windows 11? My cursor work on the control alt delete screen but on the main desktop it just flies to the top right and you can drag it down but it just pings back up

Thanks... i spent days with this INCREDIBLY annoying issue, difficult to click things, etc. For me, what worked was the tip about uninstalling the mouse device.

I am having a issue with it moving on just the basic computer screen and its not the mouse or the keyboard
have you find a solution?

@@ARCSTREAMS Actually found the problem. it was a windows controller. did realize it was setting on its side with one of the joysticks slighlty moving it.
@@Scaash i am not familiar with that is it just another program under device manager? what do you mean setting on it's side with joystick moving?
@@ARCSTREAMS what I mean is it was sitting on the joystick where it was slightly pressed. so it was enough to sometiem regesiter and sometimes not. mainly kicked on when Steam started up thats how I pin pointed the problem. The Steam softwar for controllers I am guess works the whole time the app is runnign not just whne you load games that will use the controller
This did not help me in my case unfortunately. My issue is the cursor is moving all around the screen on its own quickly. I cannot control it long enough to click on any icons. It's a fight just to have control of the cursor for a split second.
Hi - I’m unable to control anything because my mouse won’t stop moving (and opening random files). How can I stop it to try your suggestions? Thank you.
You can unplug it and navigate with your keyboard only. Using keyboard short-cuts like: WinKey+R to run a program or TAB and Enter to navigate some. Easiest fix is of course to use a different mouse lol
The issue was my USB hub. Unplugged it, let the power drain, plug it back in and presto chango the movement had stopped. Now it took me 4 days of experimenting with every fix I could find before thinking of this.
Thanks! This did it for me

i have a problem with my mouse point and click without me clicking it
Hi! I think with my mouse have hardware problem. Becouse if I connect that Trust mouse to any other PC, the problem appears. And if I connect another mouse then there are no problem. I unscrewed mouse and cleaned inside (small peace of plastic fell off). Re-assambly it, but problem still accours time-to-time.
I had the same problem with my wireless mouse. I solved the problem by inserting the wireless keyboard/mouse receiver into a different USB port. Perhaps the issue is an motherboard IR mismatch.

Thanks for the video. Would you know how to set windows 10 so it does not refresh the content of a folder when we paste a file in the folder (I mean while we are inside it) ?
All previous Windows worked like that and it was handy, now I have found nowhere how to get Windows 10 to behave like that. Thanks in advance if you find how to do that.
the moment i clicked on this video my cursor stopped moving down. best tutorial ever! haha
Glad it helped!
My system wireless mouse is moving in circles as soon as I turn it on. I have tried everything mentioned in this video but its behavior is still the same. A different mouse is working absolutely fine. What could be the issue with this HP wireless mouse?
Same here bro
the senser is proberbly broken and/or youve spilt something inside of it to lose code and damage the internal parts making it so it would go in circles, otherwise u just slammed it near the red sensor and its crocked and the sensor would think its moving in circles.
oh thanks the batteries were just low HAHHAA
Well, I just started watching the video, paused it, and remembered that I paired a BT mouse the day before. Mouse was left in the car. LOL. Even though it was technically off, and with a low battery, it caused enough interference to make the pointer dance around the screen. I retrieved the mouse from the car (fell out of the bag) and it worked. So people, check all settings- USB/PS2/trackpad and bluetooth as well!
the usb pointing device does not pop up for me in my options

I tried all these steps and my mouse cursor will still randomly bug out and go up on my screen and it wont go away until i restart but it will came back again. I have switched out mouses and it still bugs out. Any other ideas on what could be causing this?
Replace the mouse pad, the mouse laser might not like what you have it on.

Tip if a wireless thing is pluged in like wireless blootooth or sum any random wireless thing unplug it

i have a wired mouse, the problem with my mouse is that when I use a left click, it moves downward on its own.
same prob too, have you solved it??
Yes, but actually it was not a problem, it was some kind of a mouse function which I enabled unknowingly. Mainay new mouse buy kiya tha or usmy 7 keys thi total or un mein sy ek key sy yeh enable or disable hota tha.
it worked but then anytime i think i need to restart my computer or something it goes back to being demonic again moving on it's own so how many times will i need to do this!? :/ oh and my options in the pointers options do NOT give the exact option yours says ...Yours says WINDOWS DEFAULT SYSTEM SCHEME that is not coming up on my options is that why mine reverted back and is doing it again after restarting my laptop the other day? Mine says WINDOWS AERO (SYSTEM SCHEME) and the word default is not listed in the choices :( except for that Use default box next to the Browse box. But the Use Default box is not allowing me to click on it either ugh.

For many years upon a windows update on my dell desktop, the mouse will do all kinds of crazy stuff. I mean opening and closing stuff mouse movements all over the place. Totally frustrating. The fix every single time is to unplug the pc from the wall and reboot repeatedly until it is fixed, maybe 2-4 unplugs till it is fixed. I do NOT properly shut down the pc as it will keep all settings forever.

Sorry, but your tutorial needs a tutorial. Why does every tech person assume people understand what they're saying and doing? It sounds like you're in some type of speed race.
