Since he crosses his arms he can't actually steer the horse and just goes wherever the horse wants to go.
at this point they could tell me that they're bringing rufus back and i'll 100% believe that they make him look so much better than he has any right to. i have full trust in how they make even the characters i'd hate on paper look cool as hell

Glad that I'm not the only one who remembered the "M.Bison on a horse" painting from the Street Fighter movie. The thumbnail artist really is a person of class.
If I'm right and it's moste, moste has the best thumbnail game in the industry. Mans deserves more respect.
I'm of the opinion that Bison is cooler than he's ever been, but he's also been in so many of the games that you didn't really miss him. I think this design will get him a lot of new fans but veterans won't turn around on him much.
If you're not an FGC history buff or been playing since SF3, you probably don't know anything about Elena that's not "ugh Elena was busted in that one game", so she definitely deserves a chance to shake off that narrative.
Not much to say about the guests, they're big pop offs for a lot of people and big turn offs to others. What I will say is that I feel like the reaction to pass 1 was basically "Rashid's fine, ugh Ed, Who even is AKI, give me akuma pls" and by the time they were all out, each one was decently liked. I won't be surprised if the same thing happens here.
I'm just happy to finally get a SF3 rep in the game, and I like most 3rd Strike characters (not you, Remy).
The thing with Bison is that even if there are hints that stop his return from feeling like an *ss-pull, it still sucks that they don't commit to putting him out of the picture. That makes only SF3 the one game where he's not involved. And it's a problem not exclusive to SF. I would be equally mad if Heihachi and Justice were made playable again.
I'm kinda fine with Bison returning as this weird amnesiac who looks different because he was a soul jumping bodies anyway. But I would've preferred a longer break, even just waiting until the final season of this game. That said, maybe they'll do something interesting lore wise. Akuma getting to a point where he realizes that chasing power endlessly can get unsatisfying is cool, and I hope Bison gets something like that moving forward.
Heihachi is just a guy, that's his thing. If he shows up as a soul in a new body with no prior setup, I'd be sad.

This goes for veterans too... Max Dood stated that the new design actually made him take a second look at Bison and made him excited to play him! The Raul Julia reference is such a nice touch too.

@@punkypony5165 According to the udon comics which are considered canon what I said is what occurred but part of the problem is Capcoms writing and inconsistent narrative. Both have been stated in an official capacity one just more often than the other. I guess you can decide what you want to accept. Of course I also read those when I was a kid so my memory could be off.

Arcueid in MBAACC is another good example: she's got incredibly high damage largely because her numbers are just higher than other characters, and her 5B when charged is a high so there's incredibly messed up things you can do with partial charges into lows or the full overhead and she can cancel into basically any option she wants after due to Crescent Moons rebeat system

I’ve played and enjoyed every version of Bison and I love Fatal Fury/KOF so I really couldn’t be happier with S2. He has so many Raoh references now so I like him even more lol. Hell, I have confidence they’ll make me like Elena because almost every legacy character in SF6 is the coolest version of themselves imo.

SF6 Capcom is the kinda team to make a 3rd Attack Button to give characters 3 different Quarter Circle Forward Specials before they give a Charge Character Back Forward Punch and Back Forward Kick.

Yeah, he already has at least one female clone that we know about, so it wouldn't have been that much of a stretch for them to have said "his spirit reincarnated into the body of a previously undiscovered female clone."
I'm definitely in the "this season is for me" camp. Mained Elena in every game she's in, Mai is part of my CvS2 team and c'mon, everybody loves Terry.
I will say I think Elena in SFxT is better than you're giving her credit for. I mained her along with Dudley and never felt like I was being held back by that decision.
OH MY GOODNESS! I finally found someone who appreciates and actually remembers SFxT Elena! I thought I was going crazy 😂😂😂 she was super fun in that game!
@@darkosstrife Yeah, crMP combos into crMP, and stLK being a magic series starter were two parts of her kit that were super fun to abuse in SFxT. Regardless of tier placement, had way more fun with her in SFxT than USF4
On one hand, I think this is the most interesting version of Bison from a story telling perspective. On the other hand, Bison's never been much more than evil supervillain evil laugh bad guy, so to me it feels like a marginal upgrade to a very unimpressive core. Visually I found him to be kinda eh based on this, but hey he's actually out yet so I'll try to reserve some judgement. Not enough horse, they really missed the mark by not including it in his pyscho crusher 😔 I also would've loved to see it in his level 3 with it stomping on you as the ending bit as an example. Not his fault, but there being two guest characters in a 4 chara season does it make bite just that much more.
Maybe the CA version Bison is too weak to do the Psycho Crusher and horse steps in to do it for him.

Wrong. Officially, Bison is the master, he trained Rose decades before the events of SF but he abandoned her to pursue his ambitions. The whole 2 people 1 soul thing was a mistranslation/misunderstanding from the 90s.

I think five characters every season would be perfect - the gap between Terry/Mai (or in S1 AKI/Ed) would be perfect with another character in between. Especially with the guest characters here (not that I’m complaining - Terry and Mai are some of my most favorite characters ever).
This can also be solved with a sizable mid season patch, more costumes, and more fun events like Giant Attack as well - which I guess is more realistic?

As someone who has played games where they did constant balance updates, new characters and general changes, it feels nice to be able to invest time into a game that is stable and well balanced.
The game doesn't need constant patches, it's in an amazing state and this slow and steady approach helps.
Just look at what happened to Tekken 8.

on the note at the end of the video about eddy in t8. im really sad they converted him to an all out offence vortex character. i liked it when that was him backup gameplan for comebacks and when he was undeniably stronger at the keepout game. it feels like he plays too similarly to everyone else in the cast now, and im sad the only character i really enjoyed playing is so samey now

Look at animation of SA 2 (Psycho Punisher). His face at this moment looks exactly like in SF Animated Movie. I think devs make Bison face more like square than it was in SFV.

Fun Fact: Rose has a similar power to Bison because he was her master before he strove to perfect his psycho power. She uses the (technically) weaker side of Psycho Power named Soul Power. IIRC She even had a chunk of Bison's soul that he intentionally expelled to get rid of the "good part" of him for a lil while.

The reason because His power attacks are bluish Is because he Is using Soul Power instead of psycho Power!! :] When he Is using Is other arm which Is More corrupted you can see him using psycho Power, he was rose's teacher in soul Power

See I interpreted the bison reveal and trailer as someone else prevented his resurrection and stole Bison's power, and took his name when people started calling him that. That could be just cope BC I think m bison coming back to life like 6 times now is so boring, but the floating body in the tank behind Bisons throne does lend some credence to my theory, I think
And with regards to the last point I do worry about oversaturation of the market, like it's nice to be in an fg renaissance but I was there for the rhythm game crash. Hell the fg community already had an oversaturation crash in the late early to mid 2000s, with the big players either putting their fighting games on backburner like Capcom or SNK having to rebuild after the bankruptcy.
I would have bet that Makoto would come back before Elena.
According to a Famitsu article, this is the same Bison from SFV, not a clone or a new person. He’s just amnesiac now.

honestly Bison and Elena are two characters i wasn't particularly interested in, but i love both of their new designs. of course, terry and mai are incredible but i never would have even thought to ask for them. that being said... i really hope season 3 is 4 really good returning character picks, because "another sf2 character and 2 guests" sounds like a fake leak someone would post to make people mad, at this point lol
Yeah, this season 2 dlc pack is a hard sell. But I bought it only because I don’t have a problem with any of the characters revealed. I like or tolerate all of them. I know one thing tho. Bison, Terry, and Elena are the only 3 that will catch my interest gameplay wise. Elena I’ll probably only rarely play. But I honestly don’t care at all for Mai.
Considering the pace of last year's content was ABYSMAL, i am really worried about the prospect of Terry releasing around Evo and the gigantic chasm between him and Mai. Like, it was one of the most complained things, it was to be expected that Capcom had a plan, and maybe that even broader spacing is part of that plan, but still... easy to doubt at this point

It was originally Balrog's name, who was M. Bison bc of Mike Tyson
M. Bison was called Vega
Vega was called Balrog
Later they added the lore reason for it being Master Bison I think, lol

I was not excited AT ALL for bison, either -- I even explicitly DIDN'T want him in, I wanted them to finally move on from him for good and give another character his moveset, or even something very different as his 'protege' (like Ed to Balrog). Then I saw this stuff drop and instantly shut my mouth. His redesign is cool as fuck, the white long hair, the stubble, the big mysterious cowl, the horse, the amnesia which actually could be used in a cool interesting way for once, it's all there to make this the best the character has ever been.
