counter hit state for the entire duration... akuma also does not have any quick options off it. keep in mind that both divekick as well as the overhead stop akuma's air momentum before coming down. he cannot strike you quickly. Even ex fireball will take a good while before coming down. he does not have any proper mixup off the demon flip, and you can pretty much just anti air it on reaction for free, especially if you have a crouching attack that anti airs like crHP.
for example, A.K.I. gets like 6500 dmg off the anti air sHK on prediction against demon flip and the reaction isn't that difficult.

I love the Japanese tier lists with Zangief in S tier every time even though only one guy plays him in high-level competition. Itabashi is a hell of a player.
It's stuff like that that always makes me disregard tier lists. if a single player can carry a character for a whole country, clearly the character is good, just not common.
@@itol2201Based on what I've seen, japan tier lists often get skewed by one player doing really good.
@@itol2201 Biggest issue with tier lists in modern games (ESPECIALLY this one) is that the balance really is WAY tighter than anyone is willing to admit and even the absolute worst characters aren't that bad and the most egregious top tiers aren't that oppresive

Some notes I took so far playing this character every day since release:
Good move speed
Demon chop is GOOD
His grounded fireball is competing for best in class
His damage isn't amazing given his small health pool, doesn't hit anywhere close to Marisa. Does chunk in the corner.
He has a safe jump, divekick/cross up, off of light tatsu
He has good whiff punish buttons
6f medium punches
Good drive rush
His air fireball, while good, does not stay on screen when he's hit
Has meaty ground fireball setups
Good punish counter starter in qcb + punch
And, MOST OF ALL, a lot of scrubs are complaining right now that he sucks. LMFAO
I only disagree with his damage, i think him being second best right behind Marisa in that category qualifies him as having 'amazing damage'
And i understand the argument about his health being lower, but unlike Marisa, he has a lot more tools to force an offense and get damage more often

@@whizthesugoiHe doesn't have wallbounce special, but he can combo off of his flaming palm in the corner. His OD air fireball also launches. His combo extension ability is more than sufficient.
HARD disagree on the dmg, his dmg is insane, plus you get so much more after it compared to other characters. also ppl are saying that he sucks? idk you could possibly come to that conclusion lmao

its been intresting watching akuma players. you can see people still learning. ive seen 3 different players, those who focus on punch combos, those who focus on using kicks to just edge the hit and use akumas speed to keep the distance, and those who focus on the air to bait switch ups.

Dude your akuma is so good wtf lol how do you keep the pressure up? I find myself hesitating a lot. Especially when I know they can do an OD shoryuken or something. Also DeeJay and Juri are like a thorn in my side right now
One thing I love about Akuma in SF6 is that he ACTUALLY feels like a glass-cannon in this game. Everyone does such insane damage that he can't mess up or he eats 50-60%. But he ALSO deals good damage.
I think that was one thing I wasnt a huge fan of in SF4, or SF5. While there were situations where you COULD do big damage to Akuma, it never really felt like he was a glass-cannon. But just a cannon.

Down + kick during forward jump. I can’t remember if it’s medium kick specifically or if kick strength determines the angle (that’s how it works on demon flip)

Non ironically it's a good idea to get gud at atleast one fighting game so you have a better understanding of how the games work.
FGs are the kind of game where one single frame could make a balanced move completely busted, so it's very easy to create a bad/toxic game even tho you had good intentions.
It's really hard to maintain a playerbase with a Kusoge game, specially nowadays.
You might have to do a little more research into different types of FG’s as well so you can get a good idea as to the direction you want to take the game as well. Trying to make a game for everyone is how you make a game for no one!
Uhh, I've thought about this one, boss. The netcode is on top of the list. Beyond that, consult more top players like Sajam and maybe DM them to look at the neutral of your game if possible. The fgc is nice, so I imagine people would love to help out.

As much as I love Akuma’s overall design in this game… the paper thin bodyfat percentage and juiced gut is definitely off putting.
THC Mochi might not be the best Dalhsim player, but he's definetly the highest

I've played against THC mochi before, they made me lab the dhalsim matchup because I hadn't played against Dhalsim before getting to diamond
They've done a pretty good job designing a guy who looks genuinely very strong but also like he'd immediately crumple if you punched him in the stomach.
Blanka actually has really good answers for demon flip with his multi angle Blanka balls
I was scared to play ranked because I've mostly played Tekken the last couple months, I beat my first ever diamond player in the last game with drive rush into demon and ranked at Diamond 2, 20200 LP. My highest rank before that with Chun and Ken was around 15k. I think this character might be pretty good.
good job I came back to Street Fighter after playing Tekken for months and got absolutely cooked
@@THiZZyMcGUiREyeah I was so afraid of that that I spent a few hours in training throughout the week. Learning movement in tekken is so involved that I somehow completely lost the muscle memory for cancelling DP into level 3, like my hand forgot how it normally holds the stick for inputs and I had to spend an hour just on that.

The main issue i have fighting akuma right now, is, i swear his normals reach so far. I constantly feel like i cant believe certain moves hit me lol and his jump in buttons fucking smoke some of my anti airs
great fast normals, fastest walkspeed in the cast and every light tatsu leads into a safejump. Character can do anything you want.
Yeah he's got some strong reach, been also fighting a buncha Akuma players and the scary ones are either mad aggressive or they space themselves enough to not get punished lol

Honestly it feels like his lower health isn't much of a factor. Or maybe that's my experience so far
the low health has never stopped Akuma from being a top tier in the past. Especially when his own damage is high enough to kill most characters in as many touches as they take to kill him(or he does it in less, looping safejumps as he does it)

In my opinion they need to nerf the shit out of Luke and Chun li.

Why the f are you cutting out the matches so much? 2 minutes in and there are like 4 cuts, so annoying, like what is even the point? Do you think ppl won't watch longer videos? This video is already 1h long, so might as well put the whole thing.
I mean I'm sure, just like me, a lot of ppl are watching these videos to learn, and if you know how fighting games work you know it's important to see the whole set, to see the adjustments and stuff like that.
i belive that after this patch ed went from low mid tier to low tier i just cant figure that character out yet im a trash plat 5 player and when i try to use my st mk i just get punish for tryiing to use it and even using the flickers is dangerous if u openent randomly jumps or di i just delete the game waiting for new patch and maybe some fixes to ed
