It's ironic how very high level shoto games are just SF1 in the end.
It's like that in most physical 1v1 competitions even in real life. To high-level individuals typical are separated by their execution in fundamentals, like battling for position and controlling the pace.
I actually love the way daigo plays, he’s not flashy at all, it seems like he’s using scrub tactics and then out of nowhere he does a godlike raging demon at the EXACT moment he gets the meter for it. And then you realize he’s actually on another plane of existence
The last step to mastery is simplicity after all.

@@arsonne it's the opposite of what people think. People think spamming is scrub tactic because they often couldn't handle it. Fact is winners will do anything to win bar none while scrubs play for arbitrary, non winning reasons like being "honorable", doing flashy combos, doing special moves etc.

That demon off a low kick was insane!
That was godlike especially since the low kick built him just enough meter to go for it, he was fireball zoning knowing he would build up the meter for CA anyways if YAS chose not to commit

You can count the jumps in this match on one hand. That's what respect looks like. When you *know* your opponent can and will punish you, every time. Compared to lower level play with people just hail marying constant garbage in hopes that it works.
The perfect parries are insane tho

Ik Daigo is boring to watch but his playstyle is probably the most frustrating to go against, he’s just constantly trying to condition you to something, he doesn’t do big combos bcs he doesn’t have to, he tries to force a mistake and that’s HIS combo

Hes not boring he's technical. He uses all his big combo moves all the time. This player with Ryu has good D which forces to Zone with fireballs
Besides, for sure Daigo is playing not to please or to bore people... He is playing because he enjoys playing... Totally agree that he is a technical fighter.. very patient, not being affected with what others think of him, which is why he is a legend... He focuses on the fight, on how he can optimize the tools of the game to win... People always say that he spams moves a lot, but it works well..if you can't find a solution for that, then it's the opponent's problem...

trying to optimize 100% of his kit. tbh i have no clue how he gets away with throwing so many fireballs during these rounds. when i try this i get jumped or perfect parried or just any of the many options to deal with zoning. lol

A lot of these players can DP easily on reaction so going for the parry at such a close range is sometimes more beneficial than just jumping SOME of the time

Funny how Yas was almost full health and by trading with those eight low kicks Daigo managed to drop his enemy's health to a similar level than he was. If it looks stupid but it works it ain't stupid, fam.
i rly dislike this street fighter... graphics is trying too hard when it rly should've just been anime, the jumps are floaty, fireballs are slow.. everything just feels much slower than 4 and 5... its strange because one would think the drive rush would make it better, but it rly only made it worse and clutters the screen with unnecessary glitter... yuck, im never buying this version..
and thats without even starting to mention the obvious agenda behind the scenes, everything about this game is just screaming identity politics and mental illness...

Sf4 is still better than 5 and the fight seems a lot more boring and less technical. Sf4 required a lot more skill having to nail 1 frame combo's and timing.
Sf5 was a lot more noob friendly to do combo's like Ryu had this 4 hit combo that you saw every noob doing. And on screen it looks quite skillful but it was just pressing one button after the other. And sf6 does feel even more noob friendly. I liked sf4 because it actually asked more energy to focus and effort to pay off a successful combo. The thing I do like about sf5 was that doing moves are more risky and punishable. In general. Sf4 feels a lot faster because of that.
Daigo only knows 1 combo with Akuma hahaha, how low his level is.
And yet he’s the #3 Akuma. You don’t know as much as you think you do.
