@blitras8102 The clip doesn’t actually show the context. I (the person) was asking a genuine question on the nuances between the moves, not comparing them in a way to try and say they are the same. I also said it as someone who hadn’t gotten home to play the game and try anything myself.

What was the normal motion for scissor kicks? Either way, if they thought it would be a problem they coulda removed it from modern and leave it as a manual input
@@sloesty It's a charge move historically, which while still very strong, makes him way less able to abuse it randomly while walking back and forth. My comment was mostly a joke, but it does seem like they may have given that Deejay's Sobat, which also used to be charge, is motion now as well

I'm a little worried that even if he's not a tournament problem, he could be most of what was oppressive about s1 Honda at lower ranks only more so.
I was close to Diamond 5 and now I’m struggling to stay in Diamond 4 because of this guy. It’s SO MUCH worse than early Honda. Honda you could at least learn to counter by practice and preventing yourself from panicking. You can be cool as a cucumber against Horse Man and there’s just nothing you can do unless you’re way better than them
Honda was never as bad as some people make him out to be, I saw silver and even bronze rank players that could deal with headbutt spam

He was OBJECTIVELY the hardest character for people to beat online. You seeing a bronze player beat Honda doesn't say anything, as well already knew Honda's win rate was not 100 percent
The pushback on scissor kick certainly is a little comical. Even point blank, most characters struggle to do a light > medium punish-counter combo because of the range he's pushed back and the distance the first light sends him further.

@@Hrybread doesnt matter if its at launch, its not like people stop buying dlc after launch. People will buy dlc characters if they are strong now. And oh look, ed is considered literal top 3 in japan, akuma and bison are meme machines, and AKI has been buffed to A tier. Rashid is the only iffy one, maybe only half of the tier lists has him at A tier.
I love the way Bison looks using both spirit and psycho power. It's a very pleasing color combo.

I'm still contemplating on if I like Bison or not. He feels stronger than my previous main, but man, it's still taking me time to get adjusted to him. Not being limited by options compared to Honda is something!
Honestly I suck but I feel more hopeless as AKI against Bison than I feel against any other character so I'm inclined to agree that he's the best.
0:40 There is a delay on the 5LP here so it is too late to punish. Jamie probably couldn’t have punished anyway cuz his 5f lights are garbage, but I promise you there are characters who can punish that at that range because of his extended hurtbox
Edit: Again at 4:40 he shows that it has enough pushback to be safe from Jamie 2MK, but the extended hurtbox is gone 5f after the opponent is actionable, so this doesn’t show the real punishable range (for example I know there are ranges at which Bison 5LP will punish L scissor kick when his 2MK does not reach). Not saying that it isn’t a very strong move (it clearly is) but it’s not quite as good as he’s showing it to be.
Knowledge check. It happens with newer characters, especially when the move looks like this. Thanks for the info. Gonna see if aki can connect. The problem is often that a lk will hit, but the rest of your attacks wont due to push back, so either you cr lk once or you drive rush cancel in, which scales your damage

I’m really enjoying Bison but scissor is definitely degenerate as hell. The push back on block definitely needs to be lowered severely and I wouldn’t be against making light and medium versions -6 meaning the only one consistently safe (the heavy one) is the slowest with the longest recovery

If it's anything like it was in SF4, which it looks like, its got a hit box way bigger than its hurtbox.
It's just pretty solid, but i feel like blanka back medium kick is still the best anti air normal in the game
Cr Hp hurt box is very low, so it's very consistent. It also knocks down/juggles on CH, giving you good oki.
It is a bit slow, and doesn't have a lot of horizontal range, so wouldn't call it "the best grounded anti air button in the game" but he has other options to cover other spacings, and it is very good.
Gods, I was mostly joking about being able to do walk forward Double Knee Presses invoking boss _World Warrior_ Bison's "cheating" self. I figured it would be at least good, but this seems a tad dumb.
I would like to join the inevitable downplay war on the side of the downplay army: Bison simply cannot compete without a plus on block scissor kick like the old games (where he was only mid (please ignore V (please))). Please, capcom. :^)

From what I’m seeing, although you can’t confirm DI on scissor kick, you can certainly DI someone that is getting too comfortable with scissor kick to check them.

As a Kim main - this character is already driving me insane, it feels like I can't press anything against him and his pressure is insane, plus he feels impossible to anti air. Plus if I'm not fighting Bison, I'm fighting Akuma, another terrible matchup.

Idk if you can charge partition walking forward then do scissors, didnt play IV enough.
He can be in and out of range while maintaining the threat of it. If he clips you, you are done. And if you get to punish scissors because your opponent cant do 2+2 maths you are barely touching him (this assuming there are no resources other than drive guage fully stock)
But yes I guess they intended the same thing because scissors has always given problems... but they kinda went too stupid imo

Scissor kick is just a command version of sumo headbutt. Its crazy strong, like better than pre nerf headbutt. I still don't think he's the best character though. I kinda like characters being strong when they're released though, more fun than weak and underwhelming dlc.

@@ethanr3480 They limited the upper hitbox and expanded the lower hurtbox so it seems to be much easier to antiair and air to air. Still not guaranteed, but I've been testing it at different spacings and you can be significantly late and still get it
