Yessss!! Finally, it’s MY turn to watch Sajam pick up my main and eclipse me in 10 minutes so that I can try to ride upwards through the ranks by desperately clinging onto his coattails.
The first step to being great is to copy the greats, and since Sajam is learning the characters live, you can absorb more information that you can apply to your own skill set. Once his are yours you can start mixing them up to make your own style with conistent training and mindful reflection. Godspeed

43:27 "Why does it feel weird to do flashkick in this game" I knew I wasn't the only one feeling it. Flashkick feels really finnicky in this game. I was playing Guile's Trials and even though I can do Deejay's Up-Kicks 10/10 times. Sometimes Guiles Flashkick just won't come out. I do wish SF had a more lenient 'Hold time' like anime games do, but that's neither here nor there.
by the time any individual makes masters, they can work most diamonds over like sajam. the difference isnt sajams character knowledge, the difference is sajam has years of experience building up fighting game fundamentals, getting a good ability to analyze opponents, rotate his own options, and develop intuition on habits. the same diamond player sajam works over is probably one that has slaughtered me. also holy fuck did not know that about blade.
As someone who is very new to fighting games and specifically street fighter, watching Sajam play characters that aren't really his playstyle is really insightful. This series and the Zangief one (who is my personal main, god help me) are some of the best examples on the channel of his actual learning process. Rad stuff
Im actually curious after he finishes Road to master with all the character will he change his mind on what his main is. At this point he doesn't really have a main but ill be curious to see if he goes back to Luke after this. Also Editors good work scrubbing through all the stream video to get us the best matches.
Hey Sajam, wanted to say I really enjoy your content and listening to your advice on these Road to Masters has really improved my game, and I just wanted to say thanks for that
I find it funny Sajam’s chat thinks his fights are easier. I’m in Platinum and just happy to keep grinding since SF6 is the first time I’ve ever tried a fighting game seriously. What’s it matter how skilled a player is when we’re all trying to climb the same mountain?
Just cuz he’s in theory climbing that mountain then jumping off to climb again before you’ve reached it once and when that happens you excuses come out. I’m a diamond 5 cammy but when I get on after work I wind up sucking and going back down to D4 and end up quitting before I annoy myself in a cycle every couple days but I know it really is only gonna take one good night where I’m in good spirits to finish the journey off and go to my secondary chun
It really depends on the day with that tbh. My Manon climb was very chill for the most part, with a lot of "free" wins because of people doing outlandishly bad things. My chun climb was looking kind of similar til around diamond 4 where it felt like every other match was a master player til I hit master lol. In a way that made my climb "easier" (like I got 360 points for taking a game off Samurai), but I was definitely playing way higher competition. I will say in Sajam's case, it is always impressive how many people are able to corner him (sometimes in burnout) and do nothing with it, or worse, completely throw the opportunity away by doing something crazy. But that just seems to be a problem a lot of players have in general.
@@steponmeplease6217 You can get to platinum in sf6 with like a 30% winrate because of how winstreaks work up until that point, they made the ladder pretty easy to climb. This is also my first SF and I'm diamond 2 already.
@@steponmeplease6217 I think easier is the wrong word. More accessible fits better. Capcom has put significant effort in making the game more approachable for new players including the ranked grind itself which isn’t as bloated as in SFV. Many pros have said getting to Master is a much easier grind than Warlord was because there aren’t as many ranks and the point system is more forgiving. Platinum should be very achievable for most players who put a small amount of time in.
This was one of the early complaints about this new Guile, but you hear him say Perfect ! 90% of the time instead of his regular Sonic Boom lines and it's so much less cool. :(
Genuine question at around 28:42 when guile is doing is level 3 are you pressing buttons when he's doing the kick for something? I see a lot of players when a character is doing a level 3 hear them pressing buttons when a character is inflicting damage. Does pressing buttons during a level 3 do more damage or are you just playing around them to pass the time?
7:18 what's the difference between a modern player walking backwards under the timer, waiting for a jump, and hitting a dp and a classic player doing the exact same thing? it's slightly mechanically easier yeah but the modern player still created the right situation, right?
Chat thinking these diamond players are bad when they ask about ryu sweep, not knowing that’s a excellent character knowledge on ryu’s end is laughable
Hi Sajam. I have been playing FGs since SF2 and I still cant get my head around “when is it my turn”. I probably understand theoretically (frame data, plus and minus on block etc..) but in an actual match, I get whooped. Is it just a series of knowledge checks that I have to learn or is there a way for me to intuitively get it?
@seeanthonyn hey man, so most characters have 1 normal move that is plus on block. To break down plus / minus frames basically if im plus 1 and you and i both press our fastest normals i will win out because my move starts 1 frame before yours. You basically need to know what normals are plus. There are also some special moves like heavy dragonlash from ken or heavy spin knuckle from cammy. Some examples of plus normals are guiles forward heavy punch or Ryu forward heavy punch. Good luck on the grind!
This is probably something you already know, but you can DI Zangief's charging punch on reaction. You had many opportunities to do so against Grabs a lot.
Maybe this video will actually make people realize Guile has matchups that aren't favorable for him and that he's not an easy braindead character like everyone on Twitter seems to think. It won't but I can dream.
Sajam, I don't know if it's anything you can do on your end, but I've noticed that your videos have really poor bitrate quality? Even on 1080p It looks extremely blurry. Is this something you can fix or is it youtobe throttling the bitrate?
She can get in on Guile fairly easily with spin knuckle if you boom too predictably. Once she has level 3 stocked you basically can't throw booms at all. So you have to mostly fight her with normals.
Why isn't your left hand terrible? My poor joystick control is my biggest execution weakness and it seems like a decent number of advanced players built good left hand dexterity doing things like playing instruments.
10:49 one of the MOST IRRITATING THINGS IN ALL STREET FIGHTER being LITERALLY UPSIDE DOWN you are still weak to sweeps. Made me RAGE as M Bipson back in sf4
Did you watch past that point? The upside down kick does go over sweeps. The reason Sajam said it didn't work is because the Ryu was only sweeping the sonic blade.
It is weird for me to think the most exciting part of Sajam playing a new character is the naming part?
Get me Billy Boomer.
Get me Freddy Flashkick.
Get me Peter Perfect.
Get me Samuel Somersault.
I’m Fuckin’ Frankie flashkicks from jersey lmao
I’m saying 😂😂
Yeah, thats weird. The most exciting part should be the youtube thumbnail
