Cause even Mark Jackson was a little older and past his prime. Jalen Rose was also good but just inconsistent. Then Ron Artest got himself suspended the year they could have won

      @@MFjaYWiLL The Pacers team from 88-92 was much tougher than from 94-1998. They had more offensive weapons as in Chuck Person and Detlef Shremp both known for their outside 3 point shooting along with Smits. They still couldn't get past an aging Larry Bird's Celtics in the first round with all that offense. Pacers organization made dumb moves by trading Shremp and Person and left Reggie Miller as the only option on offense. Don't get fascinated by the 1994 watered down Pacers team.
      They had enough scoring in 1990:
      Smits- 16ppg
      Schremp-16ppg
      Person-20ppg
      Miller-25ppg
      Fleming14ppg
      The Eastern conference teams got weak after 1992 and the effects of the expansion era became much more noticeable. You must have started watching the NBA during the late 90's after Jordan retirement into the 2000's.

      @Kam Mike That's very debateable. Robinson won MVP, took the Spurs to 62 wins without having another star, and was on the defensive 1st team. I would probably agree that he was the 3rd best center at this time and point in his career. He definitely wasn't better than Hakeem, as was proven clearly in the series after this one. Dave Robinson was the MVP that year and led the Spurs to the best record in the League. You could even argue whether or not he was better than Ewing (I think he was by this point). The difference is those guys were in or nearing the end of there primes and Shaq had yet to reach his.

Shaq was the best regardless of that one finals matchup. Shaq numbers basically cancelled out Hakeems anyway. Shaq was the second best player behind only Jordan. • @jaymule7342
      @jaymule7342 4 года назад +1

      Phillip Riles You are wrong about Magic being the more talented team, Penny being better then Drexler and Hakeem having a better season then Shaq. It’s all broken down with legit facts.
      Start off the only reason Drexler was traded halfway thru the season was at time of the trade, Portland was far removed from contention and was compelled to honor Drexler’s trade request or risk losing him in free agency. It’s the number two best player ever traded in the Rockets franchise. Without him Rockets would’ve most likely lost to the Jazz in the very first round. With the series tied at 2-2 game 5 Rockets were getting destroyed but however, Drexler spearheaded a monster fourth-quarter rally with both timely defensive play and clutch shooting when the Rockets otherwise appeared lifeless, and Houston scored the major upset with a 95-91 victory. Drexler had 31 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and a block to go along with five three-pointers to spark the dramatic come-from-behind win.
      Hakeem 33yrs old in his prime after his team just won the championship the year before beat a really young 23yr old Shaq and the Magic. The Rockets had more talented players/veterans. Clyde averaged in the 1995 finals 22pts 10rebs 7ast 1stl and Penny avg 26pts 5rebs 8ast 1stl. Drexler avg that regular season 22pts/6.5rebs /5ast/2stls - FT% 81 - FG% .506 and (eFG% means effective field goal %) EFG% .563 which is excellent and Penny averaged 21pts/4rebs/7ast /2stl - FT% 77 with an EFG% .550 Clyde had the better season and he cancelled out Penny in the NBA Finals.
      During the NBA Finals Orlando had 6 players in double digits and Houston had 5 players with Kenny Smith avg 7.3 but he had a monster game knocking down 7 3pt shots. The next 3 starting Rockets players all avg more points than Orlando’s third top scorer at 13.5pts. The Rockets had a big3 with Hakeem/Drexler and Robert Horry, who averaged 18pts 10rebs 4ast 3stl 3blks. After both star players on each team, it’s clear, Houston had the better role players as well as coaching.
      Shaq avg 29pts 12.5rebs 6.3ast 2.5blks FG%.595 FT%57 and had a monster eFG%.583 also Shaq was the better defender in that finals. Hakeem had 33pts 11.5rebs 5.5ast 2.0stl 2.0blks with an eFG%.487. During that regular season Shaq averaged 29.3pts 11.5rebs 2.7ast 1stl 2.5blks with eFG%.583. Hakeem averaged 27.8pts 10.8rebs 3.5ast 1.5stls 3.5blks with eFG%.517.
      Hakeem played 72games avg 39.6mins a game and Shaq played 79games avg 37mins a game. Even with Hakeem avg almost 3mins more a game Shaq put up better numbers. So after all that no Shaq was the better player that 1994-95 season it’s just a 33yrd old prime Hakeem had a lil bit better finals then a 23yr old Shaq. Those are the facts broken down from top to bottom.

    How do you call this a duel. This video should be renamed to "Shaq daddy makes pacers look like school boys while Reggie Miller makes a couple jumpers".

  • @dennismagee9555
    @dennismagee9555 10 часов назад

    People say Klay Thompson is better than Reggie. Reggie took the Pacers to 4 ECF and one NBA finals. Made the playoffs almost every year too. He was the number one option most of the years too. Klay got better defense but that doesn't make you better. Plenty of guards are better then Stephen Curry. Yet they are not better than Stephen

  • @jaymiller5669

    Reggie better than Wade, TMac, and Clyde Drexler. He more clutch and that is all that matters. Jordan, Kobe, Miller 123.

    • @rucianapollard7098
      @rucianapollard7098 Год назад

      Reggie being better than Wade or Drexler is debatable, but I don't know about TMac. Kobe said that TMac was hands down the most difficult player to guard! I don't think Kobe had a problem guarding Miller
