    This series speaks to how amazing both these guys were, pay attention to how much pressure the Nets defense, who were ranked #1 that year, puts on both of them and yet they still absolutely destroy them. Nets defensive plan was to throw multiple bodies at Shaq and Kobe but both of them were so good they could score at will anyways.

    • @ohhhyeahhh1174
      @ohhhyeahhh1174 4 года назад +3

      And thats why defenses changed their defensive schemes on the lakers. To be honest kobe gave shaq room to operate the whole scheme of the pistons when they beat the lakers was to anger and throw as many tall fast bodies at kobe block his passin lanes and his sweet spots. The way they defended kobe in that series prevented shaq from really dominating in that piston series. Also the fact that kobe and shaq had friction and didnt get along anymore. Kobe was really the focal point on why shaq won those rings.

      @tony tonyt Then that means you don't respect Shaq's rings because he played the same 3 teams in the Finals. Plus, the Lakers had a tougher road in the Western Conference to even get to the finals during those years so respect should be paid off of that alone. And Kobe beat that same Celtics team in 2010 so payback was given.

      Inigo Bantok Penny Hardaway was averaging 25.5 in the finals so that’s help right there. Now I would say that Shaq definitely carried Kobe in 2000 I have nothing to say about that. But Kobe did save Shaq in game 4 when Shaq fouled out and Kobe stepped up to win that game. It’s very sad that people say this Kobe “carried by Shaq” praise and don’t have evidence to back up other than finals MVP.
      I just want to know how is someone averaging 28, 5 and 5 in 2001 and then averaging 29, 5 and 7 in the playoffs is getting carried? Like I said, there are a lot series that Kobe was the better than Shaq. Shaq was the better player overall during the 3peat but I want I want is just respect from Kobe

As one of the biggest Shaq and Kobe fans out there, both them needed each other to win. To say that one carried the other is ignorant. You're an idiot, lebron shot 27% while kobe guarded him on iso plays, kobe shot 52% while lebron guarded him on iso plays. Kobe would of embarrassed lebron, this is why the league didn't want a kobe vs lebron in 2009 and 2010.

    A great character is equal to his counterparts. Unfortunately Shaq had none aside Hakeem and Duncan. Wish he could have played with Wilt and Russell. I think he'd of gone down as a top 2-3 ever if so. He didn't take it as serious it seemed since his Orlando days. It was like he knew he was just TOO good.
