DIY Fireplace Transformation (Wood Beam Mantel, Veneer Stone)

In this video we show how we transformed our old fireplace with a Reclaimed wood beam and veneer stone. We plan on welding up some custom doors for it in the future.

I have almost that exact same fireplace with the tiles, hate it! And we are wanting to do the same kind of remodel but with rock veneer and add a hearth as the fire box is over a foot off the floor .

What was the name of stone? On sides of fireplace did you
apply anything to face of metal in between durarock and fireplace opening before applying stone? Thank you
