How do you rip the top piece of the stone if the size is smaller than a full brick?
Try planning the wall to avoid. If it occurs, I would rent a wet saw or, if you have additional height you can add to. Bring the substrate up and finish with veneer stone.
Alternatively, I used an angle grinder with a serrated diamond blade to score or rip the intended height.
