    Just two days ago, I secured a software engineering internship after a grueling journey. It was a challenging process that began three months ago, marked by numerous rejections, some even before the interview stage, and others immediately following a single interview. However, I'm thrilled to share that I've landed a position at a medical company, and I'll be receiving monthly compensation, which truly makes all the hard work and perseverance worthwhile. The road was tough, but the destination is certainly rewarding.

    I'm an MIS student who also studies programming. The tech recession initially worried me, and I thought about quitting. Instead, I deleted social media and focused on studying. This made me realize I love working on big projects and complex systems. Despite the tech market's challenges, I believe it's a phase. Technology will bounce back. Success depends on motivation, not just market trends. Those who genuinely love tech will make it. Find what excites you and stay dedicated to your goals.

    Good thoughts, Luca, especially for those who have doubts about studying technology, particularly for mid-20s career shifters like myself. I have been studying full-stack web development for almost two years now but haven't completed any projects yet. Along the way, I found it easier to grasp the concepts of CompTIA A+ and successfully passed the exam. Do you think that obtaining a CompTIA A+ certification holds value for a full-stack web developer?

      Thank you for watching. From my experience I don’t know if these certificates are needed for full stack. They may help you stand out during resume. Knowledge is always useful but I haven’t heard anything about these during my career

    Thanks Luca for your video. Do you have advice for retaining the information you learn, in particular the theoretical concepts. This could be CS fundamentals (e.g. databases, os, networks etc.), frameworks (e.g. spring boot, django etc.), libraries, technologies (e.g. docker, kubernetes), software engineering tools (e.g. git, command line, design patterns) etc.? Do you take notes for your own reference or do you use Anki?

    • @TechwithLuca
      @TechwithLuca  11 месяцев назад +1

      Retaining is definitely hard. I don’t remember everything and what I try to do is have this familiarity. Hmm this feels like something I know let me see if I can find it. A part of being a good software dev is knowing where to find information and retrieve them. Repeating and constantly practicing def helps. I think this could be a good video topic

    Hi Luca! Your video is very helpful!
    I am in the first year of SDE at JPMC.
    I am a career changer that means I don’t have CS degree. I’m thinking about going back to school for a bachelor degree in computer science. I will be eligible for reimbursement for the tuition fee. I’d like to ask you for advice on this please. I’ve always thought that I’m missing the core knowledge of this industry. Any thoughts are very welcome. Thank you so much in advance! Looking forward to your insights!
