I just love the part in Norse mythology where Odin asked Mimir if he could drink from the well of knowledge it’s just very surprising about how Odin only has one eye.
Ehh Idk. God of War really antagonised the aesir pretty badly. The designs and the character models are pretty accurate, but the stories and personality of the characters are far different from the actual myths.
Mimir and Frey were traded as political hostages during the Aesir-Vanir war the Aesir enjoyed Frey's company and teachings, but the Vanir weren't too fond of Mimir, so they ended up cutting off his head, but later revived him to guard a well of knowledge Odin paid homage to this well and offered an eye to drink from it and gain knowledge, since then, any one who seeks knowledge or information about their fate could come drink from this well, but they must offer something to Mimir in return, and it's not always a body part that they'll have to pay as a price, sometimes, the drinker is bound to serve Mimir till they have fulfilled their fate or found the answer they sought
I was hoping it was a twist in God of War, since he had one eye, was hoping he was secretly Odin, and was his way of spying and getting into the other realms...
Last time i checked it was only mimir that was beheaded not hoenir/hænir since he was odin’s frequent travelling companion and would become balders council after Ragnarök
I don't know if you have done it yet but can you do one of the legend of the remaining Trojans after years of the fall of troy settling in England. I think it was originally written by Jeffrey of Monmouth and how a man (I believe named Brutus) was exiled from his land of enslavement and sailed through the straits of Gibraltar and that is how the country of Britain got its name. Or did you do that one already? 😕

I never knew Odin had lost an eye like that. 👁️
Hello how are you doing today❤ you are so beautiful😍
There's actually several stories, but all of them were to acquire knowledge.
God of War did Justice to his role
AC Valhalla were more faithful to the myth
@@archiev1976 that game sucks though

In some myths Mimir is the brother of Bestla, Odin's mother. So he was the Allfathers Onkle
Could you imagine kartos’ reaction if they made mimir Odin’s uncle in the game like he was in Norse mythology
@@justinhuff4019 Sure.
But I think the God of War Games can not go completely mythology correct
