@@user-unos111 It's confirmed in Dirge of Cerberus that Reeve is a "inspire", a person with the superhuman ability to imbue life into inanimate objects. Reeve controls Cait Sith with his mind, but he also has a auto pilot mode for special ocasions.

But this is (Seemingly) a new continuity. And the bit of Reeve having mystical powers that lets him give life to inanimate objects is dumb and unnnecesary.
Just make him a robot with an advanced IA who can operate on its own but can also be switched to "manual control" if Reeve needs it.

You skipped most/all side-quests, answered the chats poorly/didn't chat at all, and didn't do the synergy abilities. The few times in the main story where it's possible to get affection points aren't enough to make up for not doing those.
