I got Barret, and I think it's the best one imo. Ofc the Tifa kiss is great but it doesn't go anywhere the rest of the game, and Cloud isn't himself yet. Barrets dad wisdom is really great at this moment in Clouds emotional development

Yeah I was kinda disappointed it went literally nowhere. I’m assuming they’re saving stuff for part 3. But they kiss and there’s no inkling of any feelings after that. Cloud goes through a pretty difficult mental state after chapter 12 and treats everyone, including Tifa like garbage.
In the date with Aerith he actually made some progress as a character though....... Clouds a shy awkward guy so him grabbing Aerith's hand and then sheepishly looking at her to see if she was acceptant of it was some HUGE progress

Damn! You can tell the difference between Tifa's and Aerith's Dates with Cloud. Cloud gave me the impression he was more interested in Tifa; he was the one who lead how the relationship changed and deepened. However, the date with Aerith, I could tell Cloud thought of his relationship more as a professional bodyguard, even though they are friends. Aeirth is trying hard to get over Zack, but there are a lot similarities between Zack and Cloud that she is having trouble trying to keep them separate in her mind/heart........WAIT A MOMENT! Did Yuffie just confess to Cloud she had a crush on ZACK?!?!
Yup, they definitivly proven that he is. The devs say all the dates reflect Clouds relationship with the gang and he kisses Tifa. Tifa is thus definitivley Clouds love intrest. Now he can still have an interest in Aerith, just not as strong as his interest for Tifa is. He's known Aerith for a few weeks to maybe month of two by the time the GS date takes place and she has a a heartfelt monolouge about how she has to accept that her ex is gone, she was not up for kissing on that date anyways. So if your head canon says he wanted to kiss her, he could still read the room and tell she ain't ready :P In fact, had she wanted to i'm farily certain she would have made the move after he took her hand, but she didn't.

Cloud remembers Zack and wonders if Aerith still loves him. but -Aerith: Cloud accept Aerith's love, so they become a couple (just like the clerith always wanted) -Tifa: Cloud decide to let his feelings for Aerith done and focus on Tifa, so they become a couple. (just like the clotis always wanted).
Interesting that Aerith's route even with high affection they only get as far as hand holding, something Cloud voluntarily did with Tifa even without attaining high affection. Only Tifa's high affection route led to kissing.

The Tifa one is the most "intimate" that's for sure my weird grudge is that after a kiss like that you would assume there's more to it but then again cloud is practically still broken. The fact that yuffie and barret (his advice is generally neutral ) hints at Tifa too is also pretty interesting The rest of them are having lots of fun and it doesn't feel like something more meaningful is supposed to come off of this that's why the tifa one felt pretty weird after finishing the game
I’ve been trying to find these discussions about that game but can’t. Nothing, literally nothing happens after the date lol. Cloud goes through his mental mess and treats the entire party like trash. I was slightly disappointed nothing else happened between them.

No, that does occurs if you don’t have anyone at high enough intimacy, but it also happens if there is a tie at the highest intimacy for your characters.
I got the awkward one with Cid and Vincent ahahahaha. I had both Tifa, Aerith and Barret all at the same relation level so it probably like glitched and gave me Cait Sith lol.
Tifa despite being awkward to each other, got the kiss (finally, too much pussyblockers. not cockblockers.) Aerith interlocked hands and Cloud initiating it AND almost got the kiss (so "don't fall in love with me" but she is the one falling) Yuffie got to see a version of Cloud that NO ONE ever had AND received gave Cloud a steamy whisper and actually is falling for him Cloud the Harem King!
The Aerith who told Cloud to not fall in love with him was future Aerith, who's already dead. She doesn't know if Cloud fell for her or not (given that he doesn't respond to her confession later in Rebirth) but she tells him that anyway because if he did fall for her, "not" falling for her would make the pain and guilt she knows he's going to feel be easier to handle. And she doesn't want him to feel pain and guilt. So can't really blame "present" Aerith for falling for him, she has no idea that she is going to die until she regains the white materia later on.
I chose Nanaki as my true love in Loveless and it convinced me that he's such a good boy. Now, whenever I see dogs, I'll forever imagine them as talking in two different voices depending on what the moment calls. The serious one when they're trying to adult/human and their kid voice for just being themselves.

even if they’re all blue it’s still possible that one of the relationships is a little bit higher. Tifa and Aerith have been neck and neck for me but Aerith is on top because i chose a wrong dialogue option for Tifa back in Kalm lol
If you maxed out all of your party's Affinity you'll get either Aerith or Tifa. Which one it is will in turn depend on who you chose to aid in Costa del sol, that will be the "tie breaker" between the ladies.
In general, it would have been great to have the original date theme play. 4:18 "Or am I getting ahead of myself again?" as she bares her thong for the world to see. 8:43 You'll never be Him, Cloud. 22:13 and that's when the CloudxBarret ship starts its voyage.

I really don’t like this system. I don’t like being mean/ aloof with these characters so I try to pick the best options. At the same time I want the Tifa one.
You don't have to be mean! If you want to assure that you get the right girl, just do not do the character side quests for the others before the date (they can be done until the Point of no Return, no missing out!)
You also get affection points when you perform Synergy Ability for the first time. Prioritizing unlocking and using Cloud's synergy abilities with Tifa should help
You come back later in the game where you attend the Broadway show and then this. So the shooting that occurs is part of the story. You'll have a chance to manage who you want to go on this date with because of this.
Ok I’m a little confused and slightly sad- and I was wondering if someone could help. My date in my first play through is with Tifa, the first date and the second date were both with her. But for some reason her and Cloud don’t kiss at the end of the date- they just hug and then get off of the skywheel. I don’t see ANYONE else getting that version and I’m just confused. I’m assuming my friendship with her is not as high as it can be or something?-
reddit says you need to complete 7 side quests with Tifa and pick right choices in the dialogue options. Don't worry though - after completing the main story you'll be able to replay the Skywheel date.

Is there an official requirement list available on how to get a specific date? I remember there was something similar in the first game that was basically related to the number of solved side quests. Wondering whether this (in addition to the friendship level) is the case here, too 🤔
No idea, but you can choose which date partner to have once you complete the game in normal and replay the chapter if you want to directly see all of them I got Tifa in my normal playthrough and she was my highest relationship, close by Aerith

@@DarkLeon02 nah, you don't. This is probably the only thing they improved upon in terms of the platinum trophy in comparison to remake. You only need to do the loveless bit with a S ranking with tifa and yuffie, which is fast.

I don’t see how people think date with Tifa is more intimate than with Aerith when it's not. You dont even need my opinion, just look at how the scene plays out, when Cloud is with Aerith he feels a bit insecure and shy and while he is reaching for Aerith's hand he is hesitant afraid of rejection and he cant even look properly into her eyes since and keep in mind that this Cloud's first love experience hence the nervosity makes sense. But with Tifa first thing he asks about is Aerith and her fondness for Zack . Why would u ask that while being on a date with someone else, physically he is there with Tifa but psychologically he is with Aerith. He even makes a snarky comment " She probably still likes him" again there is no need for him to say this , Cloud has been a character that never voiced out his views yet when it comes to Aerith he keeps getting jealous (calling Zack a loser etc.) Note he never made snarky comments when Johnny was lusting for Tifa , he didnt tell tifa to stay away from johnny, he simply didnt care. But there is a scene where he is on a date with Tifa and where they meet Aerith , she says something like " im sure there would be someone who would want to hangout with a cool person like me " and Cloud immediately steps in and says " stop it we are not here to make friends " but with Tifa he is simply doesnt care much. And then Tifa says " am i getting ahead of myself again ? " and here we see Cloud's " Cool Soldier personality " which isnt his real personality . He has been clueless and dense about the topic of love throughout the whole game but all of a sudden he acts confident . Now this choice made by the company is blatant fan-service Cloud is the one initiating the hug and the kiss cuz otherwise it would have been pathetic , making Tifa reach for him . Throughout the whole game it is always Tifa trying to start something and Cloud just going along with it because of the trauma from nibelheim. Again u dont need my opinion just watch the scenes and see whats more intimate , look at the way Cloud reaches for Aerith vs Tifa. People think an optional kiss is suppossed to seal everything when they never had a touching moment together except the scene in gongaga which was a moment of vulnerability and not a moment of actual want. And in the childhood flashback , once again its Tifa initiating the promise and Cloud just going along with it. While with Aerith its more of a pure - soulmate relationship while with Tifa its the sexual relationship most of the audience is dying for .
Also Note that Cait's fortune says "You will lose what u Cherish the MOST " The ending of the game clearly shows what Cloud cherishes the most hence losing Aerith.

He's going to be completly shattered and lose all sense of self, becoming the same as the black robes, until Tifa helps reconstruct him in the lifestream. His deepest desire was to become the SOLDIER who could win Tifas favour and that's the identity he crafted when Tifa found him comatose after Zacks death. Tifa is the canonical lover he goes on to live and raise kids with. Without his love for Tifa, the game doesn't even happen.
Honestly, Cloud could give at least a little interest in Barrett's story. I hate weirdos who act like he does, making things awkward and not giving you any way to engage. He is so empty.

You need to interact with the rest of the party to raise your relationship with them. If you end up with Aerith, it probably means you've raised her relationship the most.

I don't think that hug with Aerith is in every route. So it's only "canon" to the Aerith route. It doesn't appear in everyone's playthrough.

The Tifa one is the most "intimate" that's for sure my weird grudge is that after a kiss like that you would assume there's more to it but then again cloud is practically still broken. The fact that yuffie and barret (his advice is generally neutral ) hints at Tifa too is also pretty interesting
The rest of them are having lots of fun and it doesn't feel like something more meaningful is supposed to come off of this that's why the tifa one felt pretty weird after finishing the game
I’ve been trying to find these discussions about that game but can’t. Nothing, literally nothing happens after the date lol. Cloud goes through his mental mess and treats the entire party like trash. I was slightly disappointed nothing else happened between them.

I hope that the last part will actually won't forget this thing or I dunno give us the option that we had our gondola scene with this character. Though since cloud ever since the temple practically lost himself and in the last cinematic Barrets and Tifa's worries are also high it might make sense that cloud could pretend they never happened up until he gets fixed.

No, that does occurs if you don’t have anyone at high enough intimacy, but it also happens if there is a tie at the highest intimacy for your characters.

The Aerith who told Cloud to not fall in love with him was future Aerith, who's already dead. She doesn't know if Cloud fell for her or not (given that he doesn't respond to her confession later in Rebirth) but she tells him that anyway because if he did fall for her, "not" falling for her would make the pain and guilt she knows he's going to feel be easier to handle. And she doesn't want him to feel pain and guilt.
So can't really blame "present" Aerith for falling for him, she has no idea that she is going to die until she regains the white materia later on.

It depends on meters you can’t see till the end of the game. Each one determines who wins and it’s different for each character.
If you maxed out all of your party's Affinity you'll get either Aerith or Tifa. Which one it is will in turn depend on who you chose to aid in Costa del sol, that will be the "tie breaker" between the ladies.

If you want to assure that you get the right girl, just do not do the character side quests for the others before the date (they can be done until the Point of no Return, no missing out!)

You also get affection points when you perform Synergy Ability for the first time. Prioritizing unlocking and using Cloud's synergy abilities with Tifa should help

Hello. I got on the date but then dyne showed up shooting everyone and they close the park. Is the date happening later or i miss something?
You come back later in the game where you attend the Broadway show and then this. So the shooting that occurs is part of the story.
You'll have a chance to manage who you want to go on this date with because of this.
Ok I’m a little confused and slightly sad- and I was wondering if someone could help. My date in my first play through is with Tifa, the first date and the second date were both with her. But for some reason her and Cloud don’t kiss at the end of the date- they just hug and then get off of the skywheel. I don’t see ANYONE else getting that version and I’m just confused. I’m assuming my friendship with her is not as high as it can be or something?-
reddit says you need to complete 7 side quests with Tifa and pick right choices in the dialogue options. Don't worry though - after completing the main story you'll be able to replay the Skywheel date.

No idea, but you can choose which date partner to have once you complete the game in normal and replay the chapter if you want to directly see all of them
I got Tifa in my normal playthrough and she was my highest relationship, close by Aerith

I don’t see how people think date with Tifa is more intimate than with Aerith when it's not. You dont even need my opinion, just look at how the scene plays out, when Cloud is with Aerith he feels a bit insecure and shy and while he is reaching for Aerith's hand he is hesitant afraid of rejection and he cant even look properly into her eyes since and keep in mind that this Cloud's first love experience hence the nervosity makes sense.
But with Tifa first thing he asks about is Aerith and her fondness for Zack . Why would u ask that while being on a date with someone else, physically he is there with Tifa but psychologically he is with Aerith. He even makes a snarky comment " She probably still likes him" again there is no need for him to say this , Cloud has been a character that never voiced out his views yet when it comes to Aerith he keeps getting jealous (calling Zack a loser etc.) Note he never made snarky comments when Johnny was lusting for Tifa , he didnt tell tifa to stay away from johnny, he simply didnt care.
But there is a scene where he is on a date with Tifa and where they meet Aerith , she says something like " im sure there would be someone who would want to hangout with a cool person like me " and Cloud immediately steps in and says " stop it we are not here to make friends " but with Tifa he is simply doesnt care much.
And then Tifa says " am i getting ahead of myself again ? " and here we see Cloud's " Cool Soldier personality " which isnt his real personality . He has been clueless and dense about the topic of love throughout the whole game but all of a sudden he acts confident . Now this choice made by the company is blatant fan-service Cloud is the one initiating the hug and the kiss cuz otherwise it would have been pathetic , making Tifa reach for him . Throughout the whole game it is always Tifa trying to start something and Cloud just going along with it because of the trauma from nibelheim. Again u dont need my opinion just watch the scenes and see whats more intimate , look at the way Cloud reaches for Aerith vs Tifa.
People think an optional kiss is suppossed to seal everything when they never had a touching moment together except the scene in gongaga which was a moment of vulnerability and not a moment of actual want.
And in the childhood flashback , once again its Tifa initiating the promise and Cloud just going along with it.
While with Aerith its more of a pure - soulmate relationship while with Tifa its the sexual relationship most of the audience is dying for .
Also Note that Cait's fortune says "You will lose what u Cherish the MOST " The ending of the game clearly shows what Cloud cherishes the most hence losing Aerith.

Tifa is the canonical lover he goes on to live and raise kids with. Without his love for Tifa, the game doesn't even happen.

You need to interact with the rest of the party to raise your relationship with them. If you end up with Aerith, it probably means you've raised her relationship the most.
