Technically this is one adaptation of one edition of loveless, of SOME of loveless. He was specifically obsessed with a specific book of it, because he projected his life into it and also the lost portion. It's pretty clearly spelled out in crisis core, that it's a weird fandom and he's obsessed with the lost portion and being weirdly interpretational and religious about it. What with the while wings thing.
The subtle differences between all the girls going in for the "kiss" are great. 6:06 Cloud pulls Tifa into the twirl and she looks a little surprised, but then looks like she's longing for the kiss. 8:25 Aerith seems to be leading the twirl and looks like she's simply expecting the kiss to follow. 10:44 Yuffie goes for the infinite twirl that makes her swoon and then panics when she realizes that it's the kiss scene, but goes for it anyway.
Cloud definitely leads a strong twirl w/ Tifa start to finish, staying close the whole time/ more physical. Arithe he starts the twirl but gives her more room to finish on her own. Yuffie he just lets completely go, letting for her free spin a million time
If you pay attention to all the romance scenes with cloud/tifa and cloud/aerith you will notice that in the aerith scenes she is almost always the one initiating the contact or the affection, whereas with Tifa its both of them initiating it at different times. Tifa takes his hand a couple times but Cloud starts the hug and kiss in the gondola. Aerith is always kind of pushing him into romantic situations and he just kinda goes with it.
I like the sublte differences between Yuffie, Aerith, and Tifa. Yuffie leads Cloud into the dance while being dramatic about it ofc. Aerith kind of pulls Cloud towards her a bit. And Cloud just straight up leads Tifa into it.

Okay it’s actually fascinating how the English actors really sound like they’re reciting and it’s a bit awkward and wooden (especially Cloud), but in the Japanese version they were eating up and selling it. Just like Genesis.
Out of Barret's character (who is going Ham) in English, I think it is a mix of inexperience in the theater setting. This scene takes place in a play which requires a different skill set than just expressive regular voice acting or dubbing.

And it is true. In the Lifestream, it is Tifa's love for him and him for her, and she sticking by his side is what got him his self back. And Aerith's love for her friends and people is what saved them from meteor. Sephiroth doesn't care about anyone which led to him not conquering it all.

honestly I love how all of this is just foreshadowing of whats to come, with specific words used as well. It's because tifa feeds his soldier persona again by calling him a true hero. This is why he acts this way, it's not the real cloud. We only see the real gentle him with serith because unlike yuffie and tifa she doesn't feed his soldier persona, instead she says true love conquers all

Honestly, cloud acts exactly like the script with all of them and you see some funny moments as well, but with tifa he really adds his desire he genuinely takes her hand passionately and spins her hard you know well he wants and love this woman
i was going to say this! he takes initiative with her because of how shy she is compared to the others. it’s like aerith is elegant and following her script, tifa is shy and insecure and then yuffie is outgoing and not following the script. they all got their personalities down in the play😂 though i personally enjoyed tifa’s version more

Is it me or is the play full of subtle references to other Final Fantasy games? "For I know that I will find you here" sounds like the opening of FF8, "Rosa" is from FF4, etc.
In general he seems more assertive towards Tifa while Aerith tends to be more assertive towards him. Yuffie is just puts extra energy into everything no matter who she's interacting with.
Cancer doesn't really want to be that way, they are emotional and would rather be gentle with their women. He's doing what he thinks she wants. Cloud liked Tifa when she was young in her little dress. As an adult, he liked Aerith in her little dress. He has a type.
The play fits perfectly into Cloud and Aerith's narrative, the song also talks about reunion and mentions the place where they met for the first time, on Loveless Street, the same name as the play. But my favorite scene was Yuffie, nothing beats it! She is very exaggerated.
Well it makes sense, im guessing that its the canon route since. I haven't finished the game but i guess that the relationship sistem was implemented to save her life at the end of the game.

Okay, so both Tifa and Yuffie shares the same type of dialogue at the end. Where they talked about the victory and Alphreid is a hero. Whereas Aerith's dialogue is unique, about how it was love that conquers all. Interesting. And also how three of them act with Cloud in the 3rd choice. Tifa being slow, Yuffie acted a little bit too much, and Aerith just being in sync with Cloud.
I love the fact that the spinning at the third choice is individual for each character, Aerith and Tifa spinning elegantly while Yuffie just looks like she doesn’t even know why she’s there
The moment I saw “Rosa” with a staff, I knew the role fit Aerith the most. But the story also feels like it parallels Cloud and Aerith’s story in Rebirth. But this is a game with shipping in mind, of course there will be three alternative versions of this

Aerith has always been Cloud's number one. Tifa number two, if even that, as it never went beyond friendship, not even in AC.

Aerith and Cloud story mirrors loveless plus is the name of the street they meet, Rosa uses a staff just like Aerith and hugs the Alph in the same way Cloud and Aerith hug in their last date (the scenes look nearly identical minus the location) and the whole theme of meeting again with no promises. This was clearly made with Aerith in mind, but I wonder if this whole loveless thing is the result of CC influence or if it was a thing back in the og.
Nah for real, some other things to note is that the princess is literally using Aerith's attacks like judgement ray and powering up his sword like what happened with Bahamut in AC. Cloud and Aerith get their kiss interupted by the demon like Seph doing you know... There's other hints with the goddess being Aerith because when Cloud asks Tifa how she found him, she said she got help from the goddess while Aerith said she heard Cloud's pleas/cries. Lastly, Aerith's is the only one that mentions true love saving the day, while with Tifa, it's about Cloud being a hero saving everyone.
The play makes most sense with Aerith simply because of the foreshadowing to Aerith’s fate. It’s almost as if she’s saying goodbye in the play in a way. Letting Cloud know how much she truly loves him, but knowing that he doesn’t reciprocate much, she’s hesitant. I’m one of the rare few who think Aerith would have been best for Cloud at least in the remake version. He’s already suffering from trauma and Tifa just brings it out more within him. Aerith? She pushes Cloud to bring out his best. Almost kind of forcing him to find himself, but in a more gentle manner. She knows he’s not always his true self, but she can see him. She knows he’s there. I love Tifa, but man…she just brings trauma for the poor guy.
Interesting seeing the reactions. Tifa is like into the kiss immediately like it is a dream come true. Aerith is looking off to the side because she suspects something is weird about Cloud. and yuffie is dizzy and maybe a bit nervous.
This part confuses me greatly, they put VR goggles on, are they performing virtually while sitting down in audience? I just cant imagine how they are doing this. Somebody explain pls.
And does every audience member see themselves? So it's fake clapping we hear? Do they sign up a role beforehand? And what if we just want to watch the play and not participate?
Jesse's part and Aerith singing is something everyone saw, the in between of the play was different for each person, I'm pretty when they're exiting the theatre Yuffie mentions something about her play and it's different than what we saw, which was Cloud's perspective.
The entire section makes no sense. The only way it would make sense was if the party were chosen to perform the play like in FF7, and VR goggles show special effects and Jessie's opening film. But this is shown to be impossible because Cloud is still in his seat. If everyone sees a different play, how does Cloud's play know to show him Barret and Red XIII? The combat sim is the closest technology and that doesn't read minds, it has to be told "show the party a wolf". If it's all VR, why would there be a VR section of the audience in their seats, while they're physically in their seats? Cloud is also the only one in the audience with a romantic connection to Aerith. Imagine if everyone sees Aerith perform while they stand off stage and Aerith keeps giving them doe eyes and glances.

Honestly, cloud acts exactly like the script with all of them and you see some funny moments as well, but with tifa he really adds his desire he genuinely takes her hand passionately and spins her hard you know well he wants and love this woman

The play fits perfectly into Cloud and Aerith's narrative, the song also talks about reunion and mentions the place where they met for the first time, on Loveless Street, the same name as the play. But my favorite scene was Yuffie, nothing beats it! She is very exaggerated.

And also how three of them act with Cloud in the 3rd choice. Tifa being slow, Yuffie acted a little bit too much, and Aerith just being in sync with Cloud.
Yeah, there is no "canon" date, like the actors themselves confirmed, but I always thought Aerith was the most fitting for the play.

Aerith and Cloud story mirrors loveless plus is the name of the street they meet, Rosa uses a staff just like Aerith and hugs the Alph in the same way Cloud and Aerith hug in their last date (the scenes look nearly identical minus the location) and the whole theme of meeting again with no promises.
This was clearly made with Aerith in mind, but I wonder if this whole loveless thing is the result of CC influence or if it was a thing back in the og.

Nah for real, some other things to note is that the princess is literally using Aerith's attacks like judgement ray and powering up his sword like what happened with Bahamut in AC.
Cloud and Aerith get their kiss interupted by the demon like Seph doing you know...
There's other hints with the goddess being Aerith because when Cloud asks Tifa how she found him, she said she got help from the goddess while Aerith said she heard Cloud's pleas/cries.
Lastly, Aerith's is the only one that mentions true love saving the day, while with Tifa, it's about Cloud being a hero saving everyone.

The play makes most sense with Aerith simply because of the foreshadowing to Aerith’s fate. It’s almost as if she’s saying goodbye in the play in a way. Letting Cloud know how much she truly loves him, but knowing that he doesn’t reciprocate much, she’s hesitant.
I’m one of the rare few who think Aerith would have been best for Cloud at least in the remake version. He’s already suffering from trauma and Tifa just brings it out more within him. Aerith? She pushes Cloud to bring out his best. Almost kind of forcing him to find himself, but in a more gentle manner. She knows he’s not always his true self, but she can see him. She knows he’s there. I love Tifa, but man…she just brings trauma for the poor guy.

Jesse's part and Aerith singing is something everyone saw, the in between of the play was different for each person, I'm pretty when they're exiting the theatre Yuffie mentions something about her play and it's different than what we saw, which was Cloud's perspective.

The entire section makes no sense. The only way it would make sense was if the party were chosen to perform the play like in FF7, and VR goggles show special effects and Jessie's opening film. But this is shown to be impossible because Cloud is still in his seat.
If everyone sees a different play, how does Cloud's play know to show him Barret and Red XIII? The combat sim is the closest technology and that doesn't read minds, it has to be told "show the party a wolf".
If it's all VR, why would there be a VR section of the audience in their seats, while they're physically in their seats?
Cloud is also the only one in the audience with a romantic connection to Aerith. Imagine if everyone sees Aerith perform while they stand off stage and Aerith keeps giving them doe eyes and glances.
