    Should arrive in Belgium begin september. Already got an offer from the local dealer. If the test drive is OK it will replace my mazda 3. I'm no Mazda fanboy. Just considering the fact that my Mazda 3 with the trade-in value Mazda gives and no need of repairs during use will have cost meabout the same as my former Skoda Fabia. As the CX 30 seems to fit my needs, I see no reason not to stick with Mazda even if I find that there is too much plastic cladding.

    I actually think going NA is better than down-sizing engines and stick turbos everywhere, but do Mazda's engines give you better the efficience than the small turbo ones? This kind of reminds me the rotary (in a completely different way).

    • @DashCamSerbia
      @DashCamSerbia 5 лет назад

      2l turbo would be better. :D

    • @dschonsie
      @dschonsie 5 лет назад +1

      no turbo means the engine needs higher revs to deliver power, which isn't very good for efficiency

    • @pedromonteiro1126
      @pedromonteiro1126 5 лет назад +1

      I get it. I'm not saying "The bigger the better" but if Mazda is able to do efficient engines without the need of a turbo, it's kind of better for them as they're known for having different types of engines (SkyActiv, rotary). In a long way term, not having a turbo can be good as not only it won't break up and leave you with a lot of less power (because it doesn't exist) and it won't stress the engine (even though engines are developed not to have these problems it can help). Overall, i'm not anti-turbo nor anti-NA, just like to see car companies trying something different from the usual (in a good way).

  • @ekspert081
    @ekspert081 5 лет назад +3

    So you are driving new Mazda with new revolutionary engine and all you are saying is that it is not that much powerful then the Skyactiv-G. Yes we know that already, it is not ment to be a huge improvement powerwise, we want to know does it pull better in the low revs and most important the fuel economy, is it better!?

    In Australia we are gonna get the 2.5ltr petrol jobby :-)
    Oh, and if you think your roads are bad in the UK you should come and drive in Arsetralia, especially where I live in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
    We have such bad pot holes that there are many people who go around painting art (or penises) around them to shame the council into fixing them.

    The main reason the ActiveX will do well on the continent is the increasing (yer crazy) tightening of CO2 outputs - cars with even very low outputs are getting crucified by tax charges.
    I do think the ActiveX is a good choice. Being non turbo it will last longer. Being non-diesel it will avoid expensive DPM issues and injector repairs.
    The ActiveX has no DPM (not needed) and has a chain driven cam shaft (so no 5 yearly big repairs. The ActiveX has more power and torque but it's true you'll need to rev the engine more.
    The best engine would be the one for the US market - the 2.5Litre petrol but thanks to Greta Thunberg and the other lying clowns we won't get that in Europe.
    The Mazda auto box is sluggish and old hat (I've tried it) and the manual transmission is slick and a pleasure to use. The autobox pushes out more CO2 so more tax unfortunately.
    Lack of rear leg room and luggage space is a big issue in this car...
    Remember it's going to be more reliable than European cars and is very well equipped for the price.

    Agree about the autobox. I have test driven the both the 3 and the CX30. The 3 had an autobox while the CX30 had the manual box. I found the manual to be frustrating when driving on the motorway. If i bought either the 3 or the CX30 it would have to have the autobox.

    Ok, why does the UK get the 2.0 skyactiv G in such a low state of tune? In the US, that engine (in the old shape Mazda 3) that engine has 155HP. I fail to see what the benefit is of offering a comparatively big GDI engine with so few HP.

    • @PaulHojda
      @PaulHojda 5 лет назад +3

      emissions compliance i guess. The euro 6 standards are stupidly strict. But keep in mind, mazda underrates that engine quite a lot. Most people have dynoed that angine at somewhere between 135-140hp stock. And with a simple ECU remap, you can get it up to over 160hp

    • @DashCamSerbia

    • @DashCamSerbia

      Shouldbe better than the G version. Higher compression means higher efficiency.

    • @RupOase
      @RupOase 5 лет назад +1

      @@HonestJohncouk2000 , please test the fuel economy in the city, since this is a city "crossover". That mid 40 mpg was done on quite speedy roads if I'm not mistaking (or at least that's how you drove the car). The Skys**t-G does 8,5-10 l/100 km (23 - 27 mpg) in mid to heavy traffic, which is where you often see this car. It's not even near the rated mpg figures.
      Overall, the cars (both 3 and CX-3 / CX-30 ) are all about the looks and the driver. It disrespects all other passengers with cramped interior space and poor practicality.
      The interior is VAG like crap, dull AF, and I can't seem how any driver would get so excited about that; maybe women would like it more since it's all black.
      Apart from that, Mazda tries to reinvent the wheel, honestly. HCCI tech was attempted before but failed miserably. It's good on paper, but I reckon we'll see huge reliability issues from now on, which Mazda never delivered, and never talks about it.
