Bob great review as always.. I had a test drive of this car in Diesel automatic a month ago. Thought it was fantastic. Loved the infotainment screen, nice and high up in your eye line. Bose stereo amazing, cabin lovely and quiet. Disappointed by only 6 speeds in the auto, surely they could have gone 7 speed or 8 or 9. Also the lane keep assist doesn't hold you in lane like other manufacturers. It only pulls u back in if you drift out of line. The adaptive cruise worked great tho. Still though, im only nitpicking, overall brilliant car. I probably would go for a mazda 3 instead and save a few quid.. Cheers..
Mazda nails it in the looks inside and out, especially the interiors look very premium without being unnecessarily fussy like so many car interiors these days.
Thank you Bob for explaining why they named it that. People are terrified of getting a ticket on that stretch of the N7 as the government had tax vultures along it while they were widening it. Now with the money they made they can resurface it as it's awful.
Sorry, but Mazda should be applauded for developing a system that doesn't need a touchscreen. You might be fine with them but there are millions of drivers out there who are incapable of using them without being distracted. My next door neighbour has permanent neck injuries after being rear-ended by a woman who had exactly that problem, she hadn't seen the car brake in front of her because she was playing with the touchscreen. You see countless others who you can see are clearly distracted when they're fiddling with the screen. They're a pain anyway, few makers implement them well. On my car, if you have the sat nav on and want to turn off the heated seats (for example), you have to go back to the home screen, then into the climate controls to turn of the seats. Then go back to the nav screen when you have finished. I don't like the stick-up screens as well but have recently realised that the reason is generally to place it as close to the bottom of the windscreen as possible so that you're not having to shift your line of sight from the windscreen.
Good Review Bob, but how comfortable is the suspension of the CX30 compared to ompetitors like for example VW-T-Rock, Kia Xceed, new Peugeot 2008, Skoda Karoq-Kamiq or the basic of this car Mazda3?
Hey Bob. How are you? The US gets the 2.5L petrol engine standard. No manual transmission is even available. I like Mazdas. This one is pretty good for the money. How far away is the far side? I can't find it on Google maps!
Great review Bob. I don't get Skyactive-X. Is it just hype. The fuel economy reported by you and other journalists is not great and it's not quick either. What's the point, given that's it's priced at a premium over the Skyactive-G versions?
Good review. Most times the shot cut to the instrument binnacle it appeared the gearshift indicator was telling you to change up? (unless I am mistaken). Could this explain the disappointing fuel economy?
Guinness, Baily's, and Jameson would need to be included free for life in order to deal with the plastic cladding around the wheels and along the bottom.
The car in this video is the Skyactiv-X 180 PS, not the Skyactiv-G 122PS. You can clearly see it at 0.26 seconds and Bob actually says it’s the Skyactiv-X! It’s also on the boot door!
This car left me bored shitless (sky active X engine 2.5 l. 186hp). There is no life in this engine unless You rev the shit out of it. I didn't look back on this one although it's otherwise not a bad car.
The red indicator on the speedo that moves with the "local" speed limit is genius. That's a nice touch.
If you have carplay or auto then waze does this too, a handy feature indeed
It's brilliant, you can tell at a glance what both your speed is and what the limit is. Class system
Waze has saved me many times

If this is a skyactiv X why are you saying its 122ps? Isn't the X 186?
I could punch people for telling me that touch screens are a good solution )
Thank you Bob for explaining why they named it that.

yeah that surface is crappy, it can't displace any water and it's bumpy. Heads should roll but in this little country there's no one to blame
These SUVs are all blurring into each other at this stage! Like the behind the scenes...
Question, would you like to be a moderator on the channel?
Bob Flavin 👍 just mailed you there...
great video bob, cute wee crossover
It is nice, a bit small for families but good though
@@BobFlavinVideo Well I enjoyed your video Bob, hope you are staying safe :)

Do your jeans mark that light interior?
Not so I noticed, my jeans are well worn though
@@BobFlavinVideo I have these seats in my CX 5 which is 5 years old and i wear jeans with no problem.
Bab, dis engine DOES have an electronic supercharger (albeit a little one).
Touch screens really annoying for me. its an age thing I think. The are hard to work on Irish secondary roads.
Guinness, Baily's, and Jameson would need to be included free for life in order to deal with the plastic cladding around the wheels and along the bottom.
good thing it's not a touch screen you might transfer the virus to another driver lol...
Its Skyactive G(122PS) not X(180PS)

@@eamonnmcdermott1939 yes, but stats saying for Skyactiv G
Biorkas Lt what are you talking about?
@@eamonnmcdermott1939 6.55 min. Power is 122PS torque 213Nm. That's Skyactive G stats. Skyactive X is 180 PS and have a small supercharger
Biorkas Lt well spotted! I understand you now. He gave the wrong specs.
Touchscreens not dangerous ? hmmmmm.
It was the point not to have the driver touch the screen...

too expensive and price are too close to cx 5
