  • Gotta go fast!
    Edit: Thanks to Raymond Sandalphon Rahon in the comments, a few mistakes on my part have been solved. I have a long way to go yet.

    Min/Max Munchking has you beat might want to check his build out: ruclips.net/video/NJ9RKgZ3KWE/видео.html

      Um, dude? His build only goes up to 5,280. This video goes up to 8,040 and beyond, and even after making corrections and recalculating (see the pinned comment thread), the actual top speed is still well over 6,000. I'm all for people pointing out when someone does better, it helps make me better, but in this case, unless I missed something, my build is faster.

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 i had replied to the video because boots of speed was walking only and if you include the Eagle Whistle to work around that then Wind Walk becomes redundant since they are both base changes not additions so cant stack. ill look at that thread and see what the changes are
      edit: i looked and here are my conclusions:
      additions multiples actions Totals
      min/max 120 8 6 5760
      +Whistle 120 16 6 11520
      tabletop 335 4 4 5360
      +Whistle 65 16 4 4160
      revamp 70 16 5 5600
      WORTHWHILE NOTES: boots of speed is walking only, Eagle Whistle makes Wind Walk redundant

      @@blargminton So here's what me and Raymond pretty much came up with by the end of the thread.
      2 lvl Fighter for Action Surge
      2 lvl Bladesinger for +10
      11 Druid for Wind Walk for 300 base
      5 Monk for +10
      Mobile +10
      Longstrider +10
      Potion of Speed/Ring of Spell Storing(Haste) x2
      Feline Agility x2
      300 (Wind Walk)
      +10 (Longstrider)
      +10 (Monk)
      +10 (Bladesong)
      +10 (Mobile)
      =340
      x2 (Haste)
      =680
      +680 (Dash)
      +680 (Haste Dash)
      +680 (Action Surge Dash)
      +680 (Step of the Wind)
      Or just x5 to keep it simple
      =3,400
      x2 (Feline Agility)
      =6,800
      I never said I was adding the whistle to my calculations. I know the difference between a speed calculation and a speed increase. I've also been considering remaking this video down the line just to set the record straight. And to be clear, you can still go even faster if you have a friend help.

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 ok i see how you reached it now. you beat the video by itself but +Whistle still make his build faster(11520
      !!)
      also id be interested on hearing your take on artificers level 14 ability "Magic Item Savant" do you think "You ignore all race requirements on using a magic item" means a nutty artificer can run on all fours with "Horseshoes of Speed"? free +30 movement no attunement required!

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  2 года назад

      @@blargminton Well then I guess you beat both of us. As for the Horseshoes of Speed thing, it depends on whether or not you think the "you ignore all race requirements" thing only refers to "requires attunement by X Race", because the Horseshoes technically don't have that. They just say they work when worn by a horse, which is why they don't require attunement. I'd definitely let a Centaur do it, and probably a Minotaur because I think it's funny.

    I seriously think that movement is the least used mechanic in dnd. You can literally be untouchable

  • @raymondsandalphonrahon6124
    @raymondsandalphonrahon6124 2 года назад +2

    Boots of speed is specifically says boost your walking speed. But even if without that, damn this build is fast!

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  2 года назад +2

      Okay, so walking speed as in "on the ground", not just movement speed in general. You know, that actually makes sense now that I think about it.

      @raymondsandalphonrahon6124 2 года назад +1

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 boots of speed and eagle whistle stacks tho, so 4x speed but just for walking

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  2 года назад

      @@raymondsandalphonrahon6124 So assuming level 20 Tabaxi Monk, using the whistle, the boots, Mobile, Haste, and Longstrider, AND triple dashing, you get a movement speed of 4,480. Pretty impressive, actually.

    • @raymondsandalphonrahon6124
      @raymondsandalphonrahon6124 2 года назад

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 subtitute 2 monk levels for fighter for action surge then 2 levels to bladesinger so +5 net gain to speed. So with 4 dashing (action surge for the 4th) you will have a speed of 6800, just above mach 1 by a couple of ft/s.

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  2 года назад +1

      @@raymondsandalphonrahon6124 The only problem here is that the +5 you'd get from Bladesong is the same amount you'd lose from Monk's Unarmored Movement for taking 4 levels away. That said...holy shit, how did I forget Action Surge?! New max speed! 13,400!!!
      Edit: Sorry, forgot the boots thing. The maximum speed would actually be 6,700 solo, 7,000 with help.

  • @prostatus7190
    @prostatus7190 2 года назад +1

    for the monk subclass, drunken master will increase your walking speed by an additional 10 feet with drunken technique after you use flurry of blows, it's not permanent but it is an increase
    Edit: I do realize you'll be using Step of the Wind anyway but this is on the off chance you don't, in case you know you have to attack

    • @tabletopnephilim4633
      @tabletopnephilim4633  2 года назад

      The problem is that Flurry of Blows has to follow the Attack action, which you can't do while in gas form, and would cost one of your Dash actions even if you could. I did consider Drunken Fist for that reason though, and might still use it later on for another speed-related build. I'll give you a hint; he's in the thumbnail.

      @@tabletopnephilim4633 oh nice, also I meant in the way that in case you are playing this character ever and you do need to deal damage. if you wanna double down on speed, Drunken Fist is the way to go
