LOOM: The loom I use in this project is a 41-peg XL gauge round loom, because I wanted to make an adult-size hat. If you want to make a preemie or newborn hat, I suggest you to use the 24-peg round loom. If you want to make a baby hat, then you better use the 31-peg loom. And use the 36-peg loom for children and teenagers.
YARN: The yarn I use here is a bulky weight yarn (size #5). If your thread is thinner than mine (a medium weight yarn), I recommend you to use 2 strands at the same time. For this project, I used 90g (3.17Oz) approx. of a yarn called Phildar Rapido.

I just made this hat and it came out beautifully even with different weight yarn. Thank you ❤
I sure wish I had this tutorial when I made my first loom knit hat. I think the proportions would have come out better, and I would have had a better idea of sizing. It's so helpful to have the number of rows as well as the measurements in inches for each section of the hat. It makes it so much easier to substitute yarn, or to calculate yardage, etc. I also appreciate all the detail you include regarding your materials in your tutorials, such as the loom size and number of pegs you are using, the weight of yarn, and so on. I am adding the PDF pattern for this hat to my list of patterns I would like to purchase from your etsy shop. Your loom knit patterns and tutorials are excellent! Thank you! :)
Thank you for sharing your projects. You always have the best projects
Thank you so much for your kind words, Kathy! :)
I made this for my dad for Christmas; he loved it! Thank you so much :D
I made a wonderful hat with this tutorial. I used yarn that was 50% wool/50% acrylic. Thank you!!
Great! So glad to know you made it! ^_^
I really like the way you made this hat 😊❤

Thank you for this wonderful tutorial....🦋🦋🦋 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁
Thank you! Happy thanksgiving to you too
Hi I love your projects, thank you Merry Christmas 🎄
If I were to make this on a 36 peg loom, how many rows of each colour would you recommend doing?
I do 20 rows for brim in the same color always and 20 rows for the body. I change it up for the body too by doing different colors. I always use bulky 5 or 6. Walmart Joanns Hobby yarn.
Thank you🙏👏💐
You're welcome! Thank you! :)
Toujours aussi joli! Bravo et merci!
Merci beaucoup! ^_^
Do you think you could make video about how to keep stripes straight perfectly without jumping next row? And laddering? And holes is the major issues. Do you think you would make a wonderful video like you always do? My wish list is other one maybe Frenchie bulldog hat with two holes for ears? I would love to learn how? It’d be an awesome. Thanks!
Been following your RUclips and love it so far. I’m still following each project time to time.
Amo seus vídeos ❤️
Muito obrigada!! :)

For the 24 peg, 31 peg and 36 peg do you do 18 rounds like you do with the 41 peg
Is it normal to have a big spacing of yarn on the last leg? When I make my hats there’s a large space of yarn open if that makes any sense
Does this pattern work with just two colors too?
This is great and thank you! Christmas is here and this is a great way to also earn some 🤑 that we ALL need right about now.. Can you make some more Cowls? 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ok! More cowls! Noted down :)
How many pegs are u using
Hi Jean! I am using a 41-peg round loom, but you can use any round loom. If you want to make a preemie or newborn hat, I suggest you to use the 24-peg round loom. If you want to make a baby hat, then you better use the 31-peg loom. And use the 36-peg loom for children and teenagers.

Are you left handed? I normally knit the other direction. I am right handed.
