How to loom knit a hat (super easy for beginners) DIY TUTORIAL

- This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to knit the simplest hat ever using a loom. So, if you have never loom knitted before, this project is perfect for you! And if you are already a loom knitter, this video tutorial may help you guide your family and friends on how to start with your beloved hobby.

LOOM: The loom I use in this project is a 41-peg XL gauge round loom, because I wanted to make an adult-size hat. If you want to make a preemie or newborn hat, I suggest you to use the 24-peg round loom. If you want to make a baby hat, then you better use the 31-peg loom. And use the 36-peg loom for children and teenagers.
YARN: The yarn I use here is a bulky weight yarn (size #5). If your thread is thinner than mine (a medium weight yarn), I recommend you to use 2 strands at the same time. For this project, I used 90g (3.17Oz) approx. of a yarn called Phildar Rapido.

I just finished cancer treatment as well I needed something to keep busy without a lot of physical stress! I was thinking of giving them away as well. I also have essential tremors I thought this might be something I could do with shaky hands! Lol

Which is miraculous for someone who can’t breathe due to anxiety. Yeah. I could’ve quit and said “it’s not for me”, but my grandpa made Thousands (no joke!) of hats and gave them to the homeless. I live in Ohio and have been self educating myself a lot on the homeless lifestyle and we have harsh winters and I've been noticing a few more new local homeless people around and I'm really worried they won't make it into a shelter before winter so I'm about to order a loom and I'm watching these videos so I can make some hats for them. I'm hoping this is something I can become skilled enough at that I can make a lot of hats/scarves each year to donate not only to shelters, but the people I see wandering around local areas

Found a loom hat kit my mother had and decided to look at some you tube videos to learn how to use it. Your video is by far the best one I watched. I am also a breast cancer survivor and I crochet hats for my local Chemo Buddies group. This loom will make the hats much faster than crocheting one at a time!
Last Thanksgiving I taught my Sister to knit and now she makes all kinds of things! She said she couldn't learn but she did just fine!

This is a good tutorial for someone who is left-handed

I will surely try this. I tried one doing crochet and it came out pretty good, but I think with a loom I might have a little more control. Breaking out the loom this weekend need to get proper yarn too. Also love that you have relaxing music to work along with your project. Thank you for showing the proper way to wrap the next row. I have tried a few times and it would get so tight when pulling the yarn over the yarn would break, a peg might pop off, or I miss a peg when wrapping=frustrating moments. Wanted to try again and I love knitting a few pegs at a time. It doesn't get tight as you work around and it helps you make sure you wrap each peg

TY…GREAT vid! The best one…I’m a desperate beginner and got so confused trying to learn. One person wraps to the right..the other, left…then there’s an “ E” wrap..which no one clearly explained I’m a conventional knitter and crochet-est …and this technique was supposed to be “ easy” 😂..

Thank you. I kinda wish you had provided a guide as to what size you need for what size hat. Mom said she wanted a hat so I just finished making her a hat but I'm broke so I kinda want to make a hat for my 2 year old nephew for Christmas.

This was a great beginner video ! I watched others and they were not as clear and simple as this one. I especially liked how you did the brim of the hat at the beginning to keep it from just curling up. It looks professional ! Also, liked how you held the hook to pull the loops over. And you worked 4 or 5 loops at a time. Thank you !
