Posiedon's design is one of my favorite designs for a God of War boss. The water, the horses, the claws, the trident and crown, then when he says "You challenge me, mortal, A GOD OF OLYMPUS!" he's so badass... No match for ma man Kratos though

When i was a kid played this game on my nephew's console and i don't even know what this game about cause it's from Japan and i don't understand anything even the combos i was just a spamy boi when i get to defeat Hercules and get through the maze then there i am in "the room" just a little bit of context i had to play this game in the morning,in the living room with my nephew and then boom there i was sweating real hard not knowing what to do and good thing no one questioned wtf is going on and i just there kept playing the game trying to act normal
The voice acting in japanese is also a lot more awesome rather than english

I love how in the first game it was such a big deal to defeat a god, but in God of War 3 Kratos has simply become such a powerful warrior that he started killing every god and titan like they were a joke, even Zeus.

I was always so surprised by this game; killing Poseidon and Hades first, when they're supposedly rivalling Zeus in power.

Well aside from the end of the game, Kratos was at his strongest right at the beginning so it kinda makes sense to kill Poseidon at that moment. He lost a lot of power when he fell into the styx, remember?
I also think that the boss order is kinda disproportionate in terms of narrative. The player starts by killing Poseidon, Hades and Helios, but the penultimate boss is a scorpion that doesn't even is that important in Greek mythology? Or Cronos, which had not much to do with Kratos' revenge plan and was just an excuse for Hephaestus? I'm not complaining though, I just think it could be handled a bit better

It's actually quite convenient that there is a stage right at Gaia's heart where 2 gods can battle it out and get to easily without being crushed by rocks. Take a moment to realize the absolute craziness of the stages Kratos fights in sometimes.

That game is a masterpiece
Yeah, GOW4 was more centered on storytelling and character development than massive boss fights. I believe that it was also setting up for a new mass destruction of a pantheon, dealing with Thor and Odin and the like. If GOW5 comes out, we're bound to see a larger scale of bosses and gods, but they're bound to keep with the more recent theme of storytelling over violence.

I always found the fight between Kratos and Hades rather interesting given how they fight in similar manners regarding their weapons. Though I honestly would imagine that Hades would be better skilled at fighting in such a manner as he would have had more experience with his weapons against Kratos who has only really had his weapons for a little over 10 years.

Even his Chaos Blades shouldn't be able to power on if that were the case, since he's no longer in Greek. But u could chalk that up to the Blades being bound to his soul, hence why it always returns to him.

Badass as Kratos is, it's kinda hard to believe that the first two gods you kill are Poseidon and Hades, the two most powerful gods after Zeus. And the fact they went out so easily - especially Poseidon - is somewhat hard to believe.
Because are you forgetting that's the same kratos who minutes before that beat the shit out of zeus
This video only shows the last third of the Poseidon fight. Prior to that he was wrecking the rest of the Titans and nearly killed Gaia, and speaking of her, Kratos needed her help to beat Poseidon. And Hades absolutely did not go out easily; he kept coming back for more even after Kratos beat him over and over
Poseidon lost because kratos had gaia's help not to mention his swords were lvl 5 until he fell to the underworld where he was weakened by the souls of the river .
Actually gow aside, Poseidon is the most powerful of the gods, he just never challenges Zeus because he does not want to. They do not go to war very often either. That's hades job
@@alakazam1706 It likely depends on the version since in the illiad it was stated that Zeus is stronger then the rest of the olympians, at one point Poseidon, Hera and Athena tried to overthrow Zeus by tying him up with chains but that failed cause of Thetis, he also stripped Poseidon's and Apollo's Godhood away once.
i think Poseidon himself even admits to being weaker then Zeus.
Poseidon is pretty powerful tho, he used the part of an island to crush a giant once and he is the God of earthquakes, hes easily in the top 3 olympians but If were factoring in all the Gods, the primordials are the strongest, also i dont recall Hades going to war, maybe when he tried to defend a city from Heracles.
