The defence is trying to prove that the drugs alone could have killed Mr. Floyd. But doesn’t that also play against the defendant? If Mr. Floyd was or could be under the influence that is 1reason more why the offficer should have stopped holding him down in that way. For it means the risk of him have difficulties or stop breathing were way higher.
I'd argue Floyd would've been better off actually overdosing in public with no cops around than in their "care". He also told them he'd suffered Covid, so there's that.

No if drugs are in the system police are generally given more leeway
