She always loved to claim how much she did for us, but it was my dad who busted his butt in a job he hated because that's what it took for her to be the stay at home mom she wanted to be with several kids. I never knew till I was older that we were on the lower end of middle class. Then once he retired, she divorced him, taking half his retirement income. He had already planned out his social security to take care of them both. She didn't give him any forward notice, other than she started to get bitter towards him. I tested it one time after he had asked her what she was cooking and she was rude to him. So I walked up and asked what she was cooking, and she was polite. All the while, I was in college, and she kept pressing me to get good grades and finish college so that dad could retire. The whole time, I thought my mom really cared about wanting my dad to retire for his health, but turns out, she just wanted half his retirement money. My dad is my hero.

It's like he took these lyrics from my life. I tell my wife all the time she should have been gay. Because she doesn't want a real man she wants a bitch! You take and take and get blatantly disrespected every single day. I also have 5 daughters. So no matter what the issue is, it's my fault and they take her side every time. They've even bold faced lied to have me arrested! But when I show the video the state drops the charges and turns me lose. Women use the cops as a weapon against men who don't do what the woman wants. I'm a real man! Never put my hands on anyone but have my reputation tarnished on 5 separate occasions without a single conviction! And I have remained steadfast in my commitment to having children. Working 10-12 hour shifts just so my wife can be at home with my 2 little angels. Stay strong, everyone, and try and spend every non working minute with your family and babies. We hurt and grieve together, but to our family we're the rock that holds everything together. Remember that.
Working 3am to 4pm everyday to keep things above water. The place I live 3 incomes just gets you by. Soon enough moving to a small town we can have a better life together and she can get out of the job she hates.
I’m a lineman on the east coast. I’m a husband and a father to 2. I’ve missed birthdays, thanksgivings, and even Christmas to make sure my family is well taken care of. Nobody cares about a man’s mental health especially when those wolves are knocking on the door and the feelings he gets while away helping others keep their lights on just to keep your lights on. That’s so true. No one cares about us men and our mental health. My wife and I decided to reverse roles. I needed a break. She agreed to it. Her family doesn’t agree. They make comments about how worried they are for her. They never asked how I was doing when I was constantly missing family functions and was working OT-just proof no one cares about us men.

I know twenty guys going through it right now. Another dozen that went through it last year. Man one dude was putting in 18 hour days for weeks jusy for his wife to drop him because he was never home or tired and aggravated. And I mean the guy was working from 6 in the morning till 10 at night, was so tired he couldn't even drive home most days.
This is literally what I am going through. It's hard to try and be strong but every moment I want to scream and break down but I can't. I have to move forward.

Ok I’m bawling 😭 I have 2 boys, 5 and 8 who are full of life and carefree. I have a husband who works all the time, 16-18 hour days 6 days a week so I can stay home with our 3 children. It makes me so sad to know my boys will one day be doing what my husband is doing. Life just drained out of them. And it makes me sad that my husband was once the full of life carefree boy that my little boys are now. My husband can never come to family functions, our kids’ sports games, or anything fun. It sucks. I hate it for him. But I am also so grateful that he is willing to sacrifice for our family, for me so I can stay home with our kids. I just hate how our society operates. We get one short life and majority of people spend it working and away from everything that they love! I do try to make home life easy for my husband. I don’t nag or complain. My husband gets whatever he wants when he wants bc that is my job as his wife! More women need to show compassion towards their husbands. Remember that men have feelings too! They just show their feelings different than women.

But wants that money? I didn't grow up that way. My ex fiance worked 6 days a week from 730 to 9 pm. He went to college and got a bachelors degree. He'd come over and just him coming over late from work 45 min away to where I lived, and he needed peace to study. I would stay in the bedroom since I'd go to sleep earlier and he'd be in the living room. I never complained because he was a hard worker and was making those trips to me, and even if we couldn't go out or watch a movie, just him being in the next room was amazing to me. I won't forget those times.

Lost my dad to covid. I was 31 he was 55. He joined the Army 4 days after he graduated, spent 10 years active then got out and spent 17 years in state corrections. I understand now that everything I had growing up (which was everything I wanted within reason including a dirt bike and atv) is why he was not home. I also understand now how he felt having to or just wanting to work overtime so we could have those things. Thank you to the "real men" 🙏 Ps. I now have a son whom I try to do the best for!

I watched DAX perform this song in person last night in Nashville.. I thought this song was powerful in the video, but it is way more powerful than words can explain.
Love this Dax! Too many females out there have never worked a day of hard labor in their life. For myself I didn't have such a charmed life and was a child laborer in the farm fields at age 11. When my man gets home he has a protein smoothie, clean clothes, a towel set out and is asked if he needs anything. He has a few hours to decompress and I wait until dinner to discuss anything of relevance. Of course I cook the dinner and do the dishes. When he forgets and leave his socks in the hallway I just pick them up and don't nag him about it. I work part time from home and make caring for my husband a priority because it's his hard work that keeps a roof over our heads and all our needs met.

I’m a lineman on the east coast. I’m a husband and a father to 2. I’ve missed birthdays, thanksgivings, and even Christmas to make sure my family is well taken care of. Nobody cares about a man’s mental health especially when those wolves are knocking on the door and the feelings he gets while away helping others keep their lights on just to keep your lights on. The late nights the weeks away the time trapped in a mental prison to seek those moments or pure joy when you arrive at home. That’s so true. No one cares about us men and our mental health. My wife and I decided to reverse roles. I needed a break. She agreed to it. Her family doesn’t agree. They make comments about how worried they are for her. They never asked how I was doing when I was constantly missing family functions and was working OT-just proof no one cares about us men.

I know twenty guys going through it right now. Another dozen that went through it last year.
Man one dude was putting in 18 hour days for weeks jusy for his wife to drop him because he was never home or tired and aggravated. And I mean the guy was working from 6 in the morning till 10 at night, was so tired he couldn't even drive home most days.
This is literally what I am going through. It's hard to try and be strong but every moment I want to scream and break down but I can't. I have to move forward.

Ok I’m bawling 😭 I have 2 boys, 5 and 8 who are full of life and carefree. I have a husband who works all the time, 16-18 hour days 6 days a week so I can stay home with our 3 children. It makes me so sad to know my boys will one day be doing what my husband is doing. Life just drained out of them. And it makes me sad that my husband was once the full of life carefree boy that my little boys are now. My husband can never come to family functions, our kids’ sports games, or anything fun. It sucks. I hate it for him. But I am also so grateful that he is willing to sacrifice for our family, for me so I can stay home with our kids. I just hate how our society operates. We get one short life and majority of people spend it working and away from everything that they love! I do try to make home life easy for my husband. I don’t nag or complain. My husband gets whatever he wants when he wants bc that is my job as his wife! More women need to show compassion towards their husbands. Remember that men have feelings too! They just show their feelings different than women.

As a woman, I love this song. I love all of your music and I hold you in high reguard. I couldn't fathom having a man who works hard to provide, and women say they're never home. But wants that money? I didn't grow up that way. My ex fiance worked 6 days a week from 730 to 9 pm. He went to college and got a bachelors degree. He'd come over and just him coming over late from work 45 min away to where I lived, and he needed peace to study. I would stay in the bedroom since I'd go to sleep earlier and he'd be in the living room. I never complained because he was a hard worker and was making those trips to me, and even if we couldn't go out or watch a movie, just him being in the next room was amazing to me. I won't forget those times.

Lost my dad to covid. I was 31 he was 55. He joined the Army 4 days after he graduated, spent 10 years active then got out and spent 17 years in state corrections. I understand now that everything I had growing up (which was everything I wanted within reason including a dirt bike and atv) is why he was not home. I also understand now how he felt having to or just wanting to work overtime so we could have those things. Thank you to the "real men" 🙏

Love this Dax! Too many females out there have never worked a day of hard labor in their life. For myself I didn't have such a charmed life and was a child laborer in the farm fields at age 11. When my man gets home he has a protein smoothie, clean clothes, a towel set out and is asked if he needs anything. He has a few hours to decompress and I wait until dinner to discuss anything of relevance. Of course I cook the dinner and do the dishes. When he forgets and leave his socks in the hallway I just pick them up and don't nag him about it. I work part time from home and make caring for my husband a priority because it's his hard work that keeps a roof over our heads and all our needs met.
