It's always hilarious to me how terrible at the game these griefers are. You'd think after spending their entire life trying to waste other people's time they'd be at least okay at it but nope they all suck so bad at it.

Some of these griefers got quite an odd little brain with how it works.
Grief a streamer, gets banned, pretending to lie low and acting cool about it, feeling as proud as a kid who just stole some candy from a store and somehow they think themselves above everyone else.
Creating their community discord dedicated to grief and later on roast the IRL appearance of players from a Discord avatar.
Man, some people just grow up faster than others. And some doesn't even grow up at all

Lovely video. I think it's sad that a lot of players justify griefing when it's clearly players with destrutive behavior to both the game and themselves.
The HC guild on Bloodsail should have a decoy role available. Have some people just leveling up and playing the old fashioned way so that if griefers go after them, thinking they 'sent them back to Elwynn', they just res and go back to questing wasting the griefers' time.

Been clean from WOW since the end of WOTLK, but this brings back good memories. The most fun I ever had in that game was leveling my first character and doing world PVP. If you were within 5 levels of me I was going to try to kill you. No exceptions. Level 20/30 fights in STV were so intense.
I know this video is about a totally different issue, but just seeing world PVP made me nostalgic.
World pvp was pretty fun around Tarren Mill, around UBRS / MC instances and city raids but the negatives far outweighed the positives for me. I started in vanilla and left live before Wrath but have bounced around a few privates servers here and there just to goof off once in a while.

The conversation in the discord is...painful, its not even cringe its past that, its pathetic. Pity is all thats left for people like this. Theres some kind of deep seeded hatred within them, and it overshadows any logical empathetic thought. Something thats beautiful is people with mindsets like this leave the house, forget themselves, then get a dose of reality when a real human lays them out.
As an OG summit viewer. And an MMO enjoyer its so fun watching summit go on his WoW binges.

oh man, I went into this expecting these griefers to be super losers, but maan I can't take this second hand embarrassment, the cringe is waaay more intense than I expected. These dudes are like omegalosers, especially seeing how bad they are at the game and the way they act regardless. After how bad Savix owned them, they're better off offing themselves, this level of embarrassment and shame is just too much dude... There's no coming back from this.
Idk about offing themselves but they should probably find something better to do in life than grief players trying to enjoy the game, especially creating videos where you click all your skills it's embarrassing

People would use those wall exploits to get into the Vault in Wintergrasp when it wasn't occupied by their faction
You could also fly under the map in some parts so a lot of people would mess around down there, I would clip under the stairs right before the door
Since I was playing my hunter I could shoot and use eyes of the beast with the glyph and control my pet and kill some people but most people knew about the trick
so it's not like I wouldn't fight people under there, but anyways I annoyed enough people that they reported me and a GM whispered me and warned me to stop
or there would be consequences, then he ported me out of the stairs and into like 20 horde waiting for me outside lol, After that I never messed around with stuff like that again though I would still do world PvP etc.
of course blizzard is going in on the griefers. It reflects terribly on their game and them as a company if you constantly see this shit on twitch. Anyone who would be interested in checking out classic hc can see their favourite streamer get constantly griefed, you think that would make them wanna play the game themselves? obviously not. Griefers hurt the game and the business long term, nobody wants to deal with that shit. Griefers running wild is terrible optics for a game so of course Blizzard has to step in. It has nothing to do with streamer privilege, it's about advertising.

Many ppl thinks HC are pvp servers... If it was pvp server streamers army would just oblitarate those few griefers and they would die themself in random fights every 5 min... it would be madness. Those are PVE servers.

It'd be cool for games to just transfer the banned account characters to a jail with no option to escape from there. No options to create new characters until the jail time is over and let them "play" by only being able to move through the jail cell and the dining area. They could talk to other banned players there or not, who cares. This way games can still charge money while punishing bad behaviour like in real life.

a few years ago, I was attacked a couple of times by a paladin and a priest from the horde, several times not allowing me to finish the quests. I log out and go rogue. I spent the whole day killing those two noobs.i follow them like on BB,Ungoro crater, later on outland.

Dude the greifers are literally beta testing for official HC servers, there's no point in banning them just remove the ability to greif, make it so quests dont flag you and make it so mobs cant be kited to other zones.

As a paladin, I would like instant free flash of light. The reason I fell in love with Paladin is because how good it is at off healing and utility it has with blessings, stun, bops.
There is a small part of me that enjoys the griefing due to the fact people get soooooo angry. I’m pretty sure it’s the same reason I enjoyed watching “Crank Yankers” but then again I don’t play the game and haven’t had to experience the rage.

These are the kind of people who never had any friends, and they got so jealous that other people were having a good time that theyd do anything to stop it. Thing is tho, most people learn to stop doing that when they hit their teens, these guys are middle aged toddlers who never stopped n instead got even deeper into it. can someone explain to me how they get people killed i never played hardcore just some retail. Is it like he aggros a strong mob from oblivion and then kites it to the guy he wants killed? why doesnt the mob reset and why does the mob even aggro others?
The people griefing to this extent are very likely going through a rough time in their life. We need to hire a therapist and have them go undercover in that discord.
everyone is painting up that picture that the griefers are sad lowlives losers but honestly, i have a good job, nice apartment, wife and kid. and I think it's fucking hilarious to watch. I'm not griefing because classic is not my game of choice right now, but it is actually funny to farm the reactions of people. It's like content.
Honestly, I've come across a few people like this in my time. I've tried to respond with overwhelming kindness and niceness where possible, and most of them crack after a few minutes and their real self comes out. It is ALWAYS them going through a rough time and their behaviour is just a way for them to vent and get attention. It's always suppressed stuff they don't want to be dealing with so they focus hard on doing something else.
Unfortunately they've picked an unpleasant thing to do - and I usually try to steer them towards a more fruitful, fulfilling activity. In some cases it even worked which I'll consider a win.

Trolling and griefing in mmo within the TOS is totally fine. It’s content for a different audience. Taking it outside the game is 100% not okay. Like discord, or any form of irl. Some games are pretty much based around greifing like eve online or Albion

You know I use to feel bad that I am a neet and have nothing really going for me. But at least I am not spending my whole day griefing people who are just trying to play a game and do their job while getting some artificial ego boost from it. Hope they continue to stay losers so I can always feel better than them.

If Blizzard allows it to happen in-game, then punishing players for doing those things makes no sense. If they didn't want it to happen, they could just change those things in-game. They could, for instance, change that quest so it doesn't flag people for PvP instead of just punishing the players who engage in PvP when a player is flagged.
Difference in engaging when someone flags from the quest and Camping it for hours on end waiting for someone. Big difference pal.

I agree with you. I think it's a little strange not to just fix certain griefable quests. But these guys have griefed in multiple ways that they should get banned for by exploiting mechanics.
I don't want the infinite leash mechanic to change or the social aggro. I like those aspects because it adds some excitement.

I remember when wow first came out. I was a troll rogue. A friend of mine was a hunter. And mind you I was like what 10 back when wow launched. I recall spending a lot of time in the barrens equivalent of the night elves. It was an RP sever because I just joined the sever my parents played on. Point is, it was not pvp. So my friend would tame some low level mob there and then use beast mastery to take control of it. He would turn on his pvp and walk around as the animal like he was the animal. Then I would be sitting there with my 60 assassination rogue with cold blooded up and just smoke the level 12 that hit his pet.
I would dance and cause chaos and was just a lot of fun. Though some people would get super pissed and make horde just to whisper me. Also I would like to point out we would not camp people. If they revived I would just wave and bow or something. We were not like hard trolling people just messing around. But we got so many complaints baiting so many people into their deaths that the GM asked us to stop abusing beast mastery to trick newbs.
That said it was a lot of fun because the new people would ask for help. Then there would be hunting parties of other 60's just trying to catch me. I was young but the memories were intense and maybe just because I was 10. But i recall like a lot of hunters coming out and using flair and other mages with AOE's. They would be spreading out trying to find us and I would not just run away but would try and pick them off as they separated and go back invisible to hunt the next while they hunted me.
Sadly the GM's were really pissy about us camping around their barrens. But ya know what... Blizzard could eat it because they hated the horde at launch. We had alliance patrols in the barrens... They even had unique easter egg pets. Which I accumulated with my father and sold through the neutral AH and then on the horde AH which is how we made all our gold.
Needless to say looking back I am kinda shocked they did not ban us. We did kill a ton of newbs. Even if only once. And man was a mean kid. Nothing like someone hitting the pet realizing they went pvp and running back to the guards. Only for me to let them go. Sneak in and kill them with a throwing knife. Sometimes you just needed to send a message as a 10 year old lol.
I admit it took me a while, but reading Zuggin's name backwards tells you everything you need to know about him.
And he had the hide to call that discord person a 'racist POS'.
I am still sad that Asmongold and Esfand got AdvertiseSP banned both on twitch and in wow back in 2019 for griefing on a PVP server :(

While I dont have the time for HC (only WOTLK) I do think its the most popular game mode at the moment. That means it keeps the most subs... aka a lot of money. If Blizzard cares about one thing, its money. Of course they will ban griefers kinda "for free" to make 99% of the population happy. Its an easy W and Blizz needs them.
"If people knew they would get banned, they wouldn't grief"... I remember this being the very principle that Turbine used back in the day to address RMT in LotRO. They never banned the gold sellers. They merely flagged their accounts, and banned anyone who bought from them. Once players got wind that they could lose their entire accounts for buying even $5 worth of gold, they stopped... and the gold sellers went elsewhere. No profit = no RMT problem.

I played on a PVP server when 2019 classic hit and I LOVED camping people. Even low levels... lol it was like Anakin Skywalker killing the sand people hahaha. Like I honestly do find it fun and it brings in so much drama and joy. I know it makes them mad and I already know their comments and thoughts on the given situation at hand and that makes me smile/laugh. Eventually they'll get their friends and they'll camp you and it feels like war. I LOVE IT. If youre playing on a PVE server though ahhh hell no! You're there to chill, you never signed up for that shit so yeah I think they should be banned.
I get that there can be something to it but damn man some people take it too far. I will say though it's hella sweet to get revenge on your camper later on, and I also love the moments when the low level mob has had enough and groups up to kill the camper 😂. But there is a point where enough is enough and the person should just get a life.

I don't like griefing, but I think camping diplomat is fair game. It is a pvp quest, you put yourself into pvp mode voluntarily, getting bombed by max level is pretty normal. That quest shouldn't be done on hc, if you choose to do it, if you choose to RISK that, you shouldn't cry about griefing, because you just griefed yourself.
