Some times people forget that storytelling and musicplaying are the same. Here is a man who does both well. When you play, you tell a story, dexterity, good looks and price of instrument are not relevant - it's the story -
If you're not dextrous, and your playing isn't interesting, or your instrument isn't high enough quality to sound in tune, then you won't have many to listen to your story. Of course, a pure story is what matters most, but even the greatest chef can't cook much without good ingredients and good tools
And, he's a good looking man, with dexterity, & a nice banjo. ❤️

my favorite version of this song, amazing performance.
To save people who came here for the same reason i did some confusion:
Tuning is gEADE , easiest way to do this is to put your banjo in a sawmill and then put a capo on the second fret, leave drone string open.
Alternatively, you can put your banjo in sawmill and tune the drone down to F to play a lowered version.
if you play to play along to this recording Riley is flat about 1/4 step.
You can also put your banjo in a standard G modal being GDGCD and play it the same

Your playing is really cool, Riley. Try to lose some of that weight for your health's sake. Try a diet of salad, collard greens, and tuna fish. Drink a glass of apple cider vinegar each day. I just don't want your life to be shortened by weight, because we would lose a very talented man.
