    My green card has been approved without an interview. I did a work based green card application.
    Before the approval, I received a notice asking for a medical exam certificate.

      My lawyers suggested to submit medical at a later stage in order to make sure my medical exam is still valid at the time when the officer examines my case.

    Thank you for sharing this! I recently sent out my family-based (through marriage) adjustment of status application, and I am hoping to get an interview in the spring. I have been here under a F-1 visa since 2012, and have been married for over two years, but have been with my partner since 2011. I hope we get approved! It’s great to see these types of videos, and to see lawyers share helpful information with people. You feel very vulnerable applying to be “approved” to stay here, so these videos give me hope.

    Hey! I have been married to US citizen for more than 20 years. My children are 18 and 11 have birth abroad based citizenship as well. I appeared in my home country to prove the marriage to have my name on their birth certificates.
    I came here in visit Visa, applied for status adjustment, it's almost been 14 months, still no interview been scheduled.
    Is there anyway we could ask USCIS to waive the interview?

      You should get a "receipt" within a few weeks of filing that will provide you with 18 months until the actual card is processed. The time may vary depending on where you live within the US. You will definitely need that receipt (Notice of Action) along with the expired card in order to travel without problems. And yes you can work of course, as long as you have filed on time and keep that extension receipt and your expired card. My wife just filed for her renewal and went back to her home country for a visit after we received that receipt. If you don't have that receipt AND your expired card, you will be likely to have problems re-entering the U.S. So be very very very sure that you have those 2 things before leaving the country.

    Sir, Is that valid for K1 visa?

    • @rhondadejean
      @rhondadejean 4 года назад

      K1 visas are those that the interview is done where the fiance lives. If the consulate/embassy has enough evidence of a bonafide relationship, it would be up to that consulate officer to waive the interview. It also depends on whether the consulate is operational during Covid in that country.
