Did his child or family get any type of compensation? I don't understand many things. If he were on the back of the bus how could so many people not get off the bus. I'm basing this on the assumption that he returned to the back of the bus. Why didn't police shoot? He could have killed more people. It seems like negligence on a few parties part. May the US is different.
I'm not certain if this video would be more hurtful to hear/watch, or help them feel better listening to the commentator's remarks & knowing that others are aware of a killer out there.

If Vincent was released from a mental health facility, able to go about the world unmonitored and be responsible for controlling his own mental issues, then he should have been found competent to stand trial and face murder in the first degree.
This man showed signs of premeditated murder. If he's able to plan and make preparations for certain things and keep a once track mind long enough to carry out his crime, then he's able to take responsibility for his crimes.

      It's probably just complete madness.
Not that the result isn't evil, nor do I know exactly what constitutes as evil, but it would seem
that evil is when someone who isn't crazy, does unspeakably cruel things.
The most awful though is that the family got no justice, no respect of getting to attend trial.
What IS evil though, is the judicial system who too often make random, awful decisions.

One of the most difficult things in treating schizophrenia Jodi is them maintaining their medication. As a matter of fact that is the case with a large portion of mental illnesses. The likelihood that he will remain on his medications for the rest of his life I can't believe for one minute is even close to a reality. Most women know how easy it can be to forget something as important as a birth control pill. I'm on I'm on heart medication and these keep me alive and there have been a few times when I have forgotten. Fortunately I remembered and took them before there was a problem but I don't have schizophrenia and the other emotional problems that come with it. I don't want to be angry because there is so much sadness this story is heartbreaking but I feel absolutely no compassion for the man that did this and I think even the level of understanding that this young man's mother had showed she was an amazing woman. I honestly have to say that I think this is one of the most horrible things I have ever heard and to be honest I wish that when he suggested that we not watch and move on that I had.
