Is it bcause you are addicted to weed, and want it know, just don't want to admit it? Either weed is not addictiv, and you can remove the wealtfare state first, then smoke OR weed is addictiv, and you know it, but you want a wealthfare state, in case it makes you sick. I see both sides of this debate as a good thing. I worked for the Social Security Administration as an adjudicator for disability claims, and the amount of filings for people with bogus allegations would be the result of meth, alcohol, heroin, etc. Most of them needed money, however what is the point of providing money to an addict if there is no incentive for them to become sober/productive members of society? It’s a vicious cycle that continues to expand, and the politicians (FROM BOTH SIDES) are benefiting from the “but we need more money” syndrome.

    • @firstlast9916

Seems like if we put them in jail as opposed to disability benefits, we would be spending more. So the war on drugs technically increases the welfare state. The jailed welfare state.
Not only that but when they get out of jail, nobody will hire them because of their criminal record. Which will make them sell more drugs and get back in jail. Killing some other drug dealers along the way of course.
