Funny, so many of us were drawn to this song via the Bose demo. I stopped the TV salesman mid sales pitch to figure out who this was years ago. BUT, I wonder how many bars they sold?
niansillabffs Ditto! The whole arrangement was too beautiful to ignore. I usually go to Best Buy to purchase video games, but I'm a music enthusiast as well. I had to stop what I was doing to see who it was.
How funny I did too... I was across the store when my husband turned on the sound bar..And I was very impressed. With the sound bar and her voice. Definitely on my Playlist now :)
She is so incredible. Not because the other band members were not, but man! she plays that bass... also listen to their version of Rich Girl. There, she really pulls out all the stoppers...
Just recently came across Lake Street Dive. HOW have I gone this long without hearing them? I'm obsessed, my favorite band right now! Love from Brazil!
How is this band not ruling the whole world??? They are absolutely exceptional in harmonies and show-stopping simple beauty. They inspire me to look for the good in this world.
Lake Street Dive is a live band, working night after night for packed concert venues. I saw them just last night. And, they are terrific young people to talk to. Go on their website and find a show near you!
Thank you! Thank you! --- I have no doubt this is a hard working impressive (in live) band! My breath into the ether is stating how can this band not be a HOUSE HOLD name and known by all? I mean WOW --- I can't believe this talent exists. I am so thankful, to the point of prayer, that I am living in these times to see this incredible audio-beauty. Thank God for LSD !!!!!!
That first bass note. Letting it sort of rattle like she does. She chose to play it that way, a decision was made. To me, it conveys so much emotion, or attitude. It snarls.
Devin Sullivan this, Pentatonix Take me Home, and Air Traffic Controller You know me. over and over and over, but I still sing them out loud when they come on lol
I thought the original studio version was outstanding, but this version totally blows it away. The sound is spectacular and both the trumpet and bass exceed all expectations. Incredible musicianship.
I wonder if a better headphone setup would help you? I have a variety of Beyerdynamic, Hifiman and a Klipsch HP3 and this sounds wonderful regardless of which I choose. It's full and rich and I love how I can hear each of the voices in the harmonies. In the living room I have an old pair of Klipsch Cornwalls. I don't use any EQ (don't need to). I can feel those first bass notes through my whole body. It's not lacking here. It helps to use an external DAC and amp so that you can leave the PCs digital volume at full. Details are lost if you reduce volume digitally at the time of conversion. Analog volume afterward is the way to go.
As a Best Buy employee, I rarely heard this song in the middle of the day. But every day my co-worker in the Home Theater section would play it on a sound bar when he was leaving after his shift. It was a sort of ritual. It's been a month since he's left and when we do the whole store thinks back to that time. I have a feeling years later if I have the idea of hearing this again I will definitely get emotional over these great times. Music has always been the greatest textbook for me.
Thanks for sharing that little slice of your life. About 15 years ago I worked at a hardware store with a good friend of mine. We were both teens and we ran the whole shop ourselves on the weekends. We used to jam to "Hold On Loosely" by 0.38 Special every morning. To this day, that song takes me right back to those summer days with hardly a care in the world.
Before the pandemic I would literally start my bartending shift in South Padre Island as a bartender at Coconut Jack's with this song to set MY tone and it was never NOT a hit. Speaking musically, this song is SO perfect! The arrangement, musicians, Rachel's angelic voice, the delivery, fkn EVERYTHING about this song is brings chills!
I just learned about them on Friday, watching a reaction video by Jamel_AKA_Jamal of their cover of Rich Girl (by Hall and Oats) and I fell in love! I spent a LOT of time on Saturday binging on Lake Street Dive, wondering "WHY haven't I heard of these people before???"
I heard this song at a demo station in Walmart, it sounded so damn good that I bought the $400 speaker.. it wasn’t until about 29 day when I realized I only wanted the song. 😂😂

I can't get enough. The musicianship, the harmonies, the vocals, and that bass playing!!! I can't wait until their next tour. I will be going to the closest show.
Her full blast voice fills up the air where not empty spaces are left. The double bass vibes pinch the exact moment you are allowed to breathe while the trumpet spells out stripes of melody like a cat gently purring. And everything around slowly fades away in waves drying on the shore
I never realized that how I was addicted to do the same thing in COSTCO by turning up the volume for this song every time. Now it seems another kind of pandemic spreaded in ears around the world which seems no vaccine so far.
This is the kind of music you hear and you feel like you’ve been divided into two categories. And you know you’re in the good Category that was lucky enough to experience this music. I can’t believe I almost missed this band. Wow.
I was driving down the road in my car and I heard this song today and I just started crying and then smiling and crying more. I don't cry often...her voice completely took me over. Amazing
God Rachel's got an incredible voice. I too have just recently discovered these folks, and they're amazing. What I like about them is their simple arrangements. I mean..... a modern group without a lead guitar OR a bass guitar!?
These guys amaze me! Racheal's voice is a great example of a refined instrument that is complimented perfectly with the obvious chemistry this band shares!

I was at Costco and heard this coming from a Bose display, I was hooked (:
Funny, so many of us were drawn to this song via the Bose demo. I stopped the TV salesman mid sales pitch to figure out who this was years ago. BUT, I wonder how many bars they sold?
One of the best 4 minutes of my life
Heard this on a Bose sound bar demo at Best Buy and I literally came from the other side of the store to find out who was singing. She sounds amazing
I work at Best buy and I left customer service to go find out who sings it!

The bass player is living in the pocket ❤
he got 5 pockets bro in his chino`s
Her bass playing is incredible.
Always is.
The entire band is phenominal
Slightly too loud in this mix, but yeah she's great and the BG vocals are also really fine.

This band is so great, and Rachel Price is not only supremely talented, but she is also a beautiful young woman!!
Me and a friend were messing with target speakers and this was playing, i fell in love with it immediately😫
I work at best buy and I hear this like a 100 times a day and somehow I still love it! They killll the harmonies

I agree Robert. Something about a song getting stripped a little from its studio version makes it amazing.

Wow! Great musicians, awesome vocal tone and harmonies! Well done!
When musicians jive like this there's nothing sweeter. Everyone in perfect synchronicity with the other. Chills everytime.

This song hits deep. What is mcDuck doin. That F’n smooth Trumpet. Just moved me.

Heaven has a lot of great singers, but we're still blessed with Rachael.
The harmonies here are absolutely off the chain. Her voice is a like a warm blanket or a .... a fine wine . . . or a ....?
Never thought I would hear someone with the same richness of Karen Carpenter again. You guys are truly great.

I know the outcome
And I'm not blind
I've been standing right here before
And I do it every time
I never think I lose,
But it's a losing game
And I'm breaking all the rules
Thinking that I'm gonna change
Oh, it's good
That these men don't know each other
I got one who's working undercover
Trying to solve my mystery
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
I'm jumping right on in
When I know it's gonna end somehow
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
I'm jumping right on in
When I know it's gonna end somehow
I've told these stories
And I've said these lies
I ignore what my heart tells me
And I break it every time
I never think I lose
But it's a losing game
And I'm breaking all the rules
Thinking that I'm gonna change
Oh, it's good
That these men don't know each other
Well, every time I lose one, I can just move on
I always find another
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
I'm jumping right on in
When I know it's gonna end somehow
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
I'm jumping right on in
When I know it's gonna end somehow
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
'Cause I know it,
'Cause I know it's gonna end somehow
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
'Cause I know it,
'Cause I know it's gonna end somehow
Look at what mistake
I'm making now
'Cause I know it,
'Cause I know it's gonna end somehow
