- A few years ago, I remember hearing Ain't No Sunshine in Notting Hill and I immediately fell in love with the soul in this song. Bill Withers is an absolutely legendary artist. This was always one of those songs that I just sang around the house... doing homework, cleaning my room, etc. but I never considered actually singing it. Then after I reaaally started liking to sing, my mom suggested I learn this one. The band is so unbelievable on this, I really hope you like our rendition :) xx canen

Good grief! The original by Bill Withers is a timeless classic, but this version I think is just as brilliant, absolutely wonderful, and all the musicians deserve credit too.

Well in truth the only way for an artist (cover band or just a fan) to properly cover a song especially a popular one is to own it. I mean plenty of people can and do make "good and faithful" copies/replications of popular songs. Very few can properly own their own version of it.

No it's a cover. A rendition is just sampling music that's already been made and changing the music and even lyrics to make it different to your own taste
@@ChodyRay I think it falls somewhere in between. The music is essentially the same and the lyrics almost identical but the lyrical perspective is altered and informed by our knowledge of the singer. So it is mostly a cover but with a different perspective. I hope I am making sense.

I've listened to this video numerous times. Everytime I'm blown away by the fact that Canen is just 12. There is so much more maturity and depth to her voice. She has a long and very successful career ahead of her.

I was amazed how the cello commanded and controlled the song(in the best possible way) the whole band is tight,I didn't hear anybody needing a speeding ticket. But that girl is SMASHING IT,if she was only 12 then,I don't know what she's been listening to or where she got that old soul of hers but DAMN.
