- A very special thanks to MR Robert Farmer from Carbis Bay, St Ives,Cornwall for shooting this footage of the late great Jeff Healey at the Islington Academy in London, England 2007. The audio is from Jeff`s new record " Mess of Blues" and has been synced to Bob`s video footage of the same concert and the results are what you see.
The line up of the Jeff Healey Blues Band is guitar- Jeff Healey, guitar- Dan Noordermeer, keyboards- Dave Murphy, drums- Al" baby" Webster and bass- Alec Fraser.
There is going to be a big tribute night planned for Jeff`s family at the Sound Academy in Toronto, Canada. May 3rd is the date and The Jeff Healey Blues Band will be backing up an assortment of guests that were friends of one of the greatest musicians ever.The new CD will be available internationally through Ruf Records www.rufrecords.de/ and in Canada through Stony Plain Records

nobody ever played quite the way he did. his limitations made him a unique and incredible player because he had to find his own way.
his soulfulness and lyrical quality of both his "voices" were a treasure. he is terribly missed
a true genius as his interest went far beyond blues to many genres.

Not many covers of this that I like.. But this is the best.. (yes best!) Thanks for the intensely great sound quality.. and for getting this up to share.. All the info you posted here is very helpful. I have some cd buying to do.. and I aint rich! But there are some priorities in life.. Jeff IS one! Live music is the other, when possible.
Gonna miss mr Healy.... been away for a while and just found out he's no longer with us...

As someone who is visually impaired myself, a note on Jeff. He chose to play the way he did, it had nothing to do with his being someone who was blind, but rather a preference he had to play in this manner.
One of the things I never understood about the bluegrass folks--they speed this song up so much that it kills the melody. I love BG, but that may be my one big criticism!
