jeff was out of this world, one of the better renditions of this song that i have heard.jeff was truely amazing, just goes to show how much we should thank god for what we have. And use our gifts for the better of man.
nobody ever played quite the way he did. his limitations made him a unique and incredible player because he had to find his own way. his soulfulness and lyrical quality of both his "voices" were a treasure. he is terribly missed a true genius as his interest went far beyond blues to many genres. RIP Jeff. you are dearly missed shally
He was Amazing ,,,,,RIP Jeff......Show'em how to pick up there ! Jeff fought cancer all his life., He lost his sight as a child from it... I think he had a few bought with it,. it was cancer that took him.. very sad.
Rippin it up in fine style, ... he'll always have a special place in my music collection RIP Mr Healey over 2 years on, and I still can't quite beleive it.. :(
An awesome display of musical prowess! And in a style where it really counts, full of experts. I hope they play this rendition at my funeral. Hell, listening, I AM sitting on top of the world!!!!! I hope you RIP Jeff Healey Sir.
love seeing him from the heart bobbing his head while playing this tune. even though I'm not blind still bobbing my head the same way from the heart on a very Kick A song!!!!!
Not many covers of this that I like.. But this is the best.. (yes best!) Thanks for the intensely great sound quality.. and for getting this up to share.. All the info you posted here is very helpful. I have some cd buying to do.. and I aint rich! But there are some priorities in life.. Jeff IS one! Live music is the other, when possible.
As someone who is visually impaired myself, a note on Jeff. He chose to play the way he did, it had nothing to do with his being someone who was blind, but rather a preference he had to play in this manner.
One of the things I never understood about the bluegrass folks--they speed this song up so much that it kills the melody. I love BG, but that may be my one big criticism! Thanks for this. Lordy, Mr. Healy had the talent!!! I was so sorry to hear that he passed away!
Look how excited he gets. Being blind, he is so open, and honest. He isn't performing. He is the music
Thank you for all your great music Jeff. Rest in peace my brother. Another gift from Canada to the world.
