@@markhendley5559 don't mind them,i guess you need facial scarring to be a monster, billy let the family of his best friend die, tried to kill his said best friend, killed stein, shot madani in the head, killed alot of people and worked for rollins but people are more concerned about his face. Through out season 1,it was made clear on how he liked himself above other, about how greedy he was,his "pretty face" had no single scar despite all the shit he's done, frank fuck up his face and ruins the one thing he care about the most, but yeah, his scarring is not like his one-dimensional comic book counter part so he is a shit villain😒
Yeah thats the problem with the english language you can't have a different word variation for a girl that's a friend and a boy that's a friend.he ment the his friend was a girl.
I'm pretty sure john pilgrim was supposed to be the only real season 2 villain and jig saw was to return as a threat in season 3...but It's pretty clear to me that the show runners and writers knew Netflix marvel shows were getting canceled so they combined 2 seasons into one and tried to give the fans a satisfying enough conclusion...something the other shows didnt have time to do since they came out earlier in the year.
Gonna respectfully disagree on the villains, I thought John Pilgrim was way more compelling and badass. That fight scene with him where he pulls the two teeth from his skull after headbutting someone was just amazingly brutal. So dissapointing that Netflix will likely axe the show, and we won't get him in a third season.
I felt like it would have been more satisfying if John killed the couple after a brief talk about manipulation and the Christian faith and then safely walked his children out. My mouth would have been so watery.
Like every Marvel show on Netflix, it seem like they were forced to think of a series finale, because they knew the odds of being cancelled were pretty big.
Yeah if I remember correctly Daredevil gave him the credit for catching Punisher and he got promoted. He was also a pretty big part of season 1 of Punisher too.
If you watch closely most of his wounds carry over through most the season with respect to the in story time. He has a frikin hand cast for like 3 episodes and is mostly limping around everywhere. You have to give the show some credit for at least making it somewhat credible and you can bridge the gap of disbelief by the fact that he subjects himself to this trauma regularly and is sued to it.
Season one was better IMO for two simple reasons. Season 2 had zero iconic scenes.. amazing action but the most memorable was the fight scene with the gym equipment. Season one on the other hand.... The final battle with Bill was legendary especially the way he rationalizes not killing him “you’re gonna learn about pain *flashback* you’re gonna learn about loss *flashback* ...... you’re gonna remember me!” but more importantly, there is no scene in season 2 like my favorite scene to have ever been filmed with a camera (movie/tv/short film/etc) which is in season 1, the death of Rawlings and Frank choosing between being with his wife or embracing who he is as the Punisher . The wife hallucinations and the “I am home” ...... fucking chills. Raw violence and emotion that could just never be topped I rate Punisher season 2 a 7.75/10
@@fissilewhistle What's their in Lillian scene dude, yes it brings the two characters close which is inevitable at some point but it has nothing to do with being great or something, S1 has crazy good last 4 episodes, yes it has so much filler but it is all invested in charecter development of Frank & for building the very good final episodes.....
Really??? I don't disagree with the the good you say about season 1, but litterally every fightscene in season two was fucking RAWWW, you don't find them iconic? Get outta here!
Exactly, and he did what Jeremy suggested already, but with his struggle to accept Daredevil (and he really didn't kill anybody). It seemed like it was hard enough for Medani to come to grips with Frank finally! 😃🤙
RIght? This is damn near, if not the most screen time his character has had in all of the shows. Would I like to have seen more and had his arc centralized a bit more? maybe? sure? idk, but he was used well enough imho.
Season 1 felt like a more cohesive, tighter, and more focused story than season 2. We learned a lot more about the characters in season 1 and they went through change more organically than what they kind of forced in the second one.
@@SPM0717 When did it get cancelled? I have looked up the news under Punisher on imdb, and haven't found one yet. I have only seen rumours, it was not cancelled 3 days ago according to EW, as there was no official announcement, but there is a lot of articles about Viewershop being dropped. It's weird Netflix would release it, as they are the only one that can. /Slash film had an article yesterday where it if Cancelleation is Next? So if anyone can link me the official Netflix cancelletion statement? So far there is a lot of talk about possible cancelletion, which it even was before the show was released because of Daredevil cancelletion, and the viewer drop doesn't help.
Unlike the other Marvel Netflix series, The Punisher feels like it truly had a finale. I would've loved to have seen Iron Fist's adventures in Asia, because his second season was way better than the first. I also would love to see Iron Fist and/or the Daughters of the Dragon having to bring Luke Cage back to his senses. Daredevil felt somewhat complete, but that final Bullseye scene made me want more...
@@xavigarcia9372 Daredevil did not have a series finale. I feel cheated. The Punisher isn't gonna end up on Disney's sunshiny D Plus streaming channel. So, if you wanna see more Bernthal you gotta check him out on the new Sopranos. P.S. I really did miss seeing Castle in his Punisher togs in the final season, but noooooooo! That look is too "tactical" and menacing and no one in America wants to potentially see some cringey nutcase mass shooter wearin' that sh t, when the next incident happens. ((CANCELLED))
I feel like the final episode of Daredevil was a proper finale. Matt puts away Fisk once and for all and the trio comes together again to help people through the law. I do feel like the stinger at the end with Bullseye wasn’t needed.
Overall, I liked it but took some pretty huge exception to Frank's "mercy" in this. Not blasting the Russian mob boss' teeth out the back of his head because he had a daughter?! So what. Pilgrim killed a bunch of teenagers. Frank doesnt kill him because he has 2 sons. Franks kids are not a weak spot. Theyre a sore spot. Big blunder here. The game got it right. Guys are all " im gonna be a daddy!" Boom. " no youre not.". Or " I got kids!". Boom. "So did I.". Frank I supposed to be merciless, and they missed it.
That first episode of Punisher was amazing. It was very much a modern day western. The music played tied in so well to his character. I enjoyed the punisher overall but that episode can get multiple viewings. I am surprised and happy that a series like this is still possible.
This season started strong with some great action and a really interesting premise. Then it went downhill fast with some horrible story developments and so much pointless drama I almost fell asleep during some of the episodes. I really hated the Billy Russo story, it felt so anti-climactic in regards to how season 1 ended and the whole memory loss story angle was just lame. All those scenes with him and that boring psychiatrist chick was just painful to watch and she has to be the worst character in the show by far. The pacing of this season was terrible with jarring jumps to each storyline throughout the entire run. The story with the Pilgrim started off really strong but also went nowhere with a terrible ending that felt so rushed to me. The entire premise behind it was just stupid and none of the story arcs had a satisfying conclusion. And why the hell did Frank let Pilgrim off the hook, was he not the guy who had killed Amys friends and have probably murdered a bunch of innocent people? Why can't they just focus on one aspect of the show and then move on to another story after they conclude it? Why do they have to make every show these days these long-winded and overly convoluted stories that has way too much boring dialogue about peoples feelings and problems. I miss the more episodic nature of shows in the past where you could sit down and just watch a story from beginning to end. I think that would be much better for The Punisher, to actually see him be the punisher and take down horrible people. A good revenge show is something The Punisher should be.
@@amateurwave3593 no. netflix cancel punisher for the same reason they are all getting canceled. disney are setting up their own subscription service and netflix don't want to promote characters they only have temporary contracts for. they still have a jessica jones that was already in production but after that they will all be gone and netflix will try to buy up some independent comic properties that don't belong to marvel or dc.
For me The Punisher Season 2 was a big step back from The Punisher Season 1. My biggest disappointment in particular was Billy Russo aka Jigsaw. I don't like how he was handled in Season 2 at all and as the Main Villain he was pretty lame. Heck, John Pilgrim was far more interesting and terrifying Villain than Jigsaw.
@Mind of the North Star I think it was some bad writing on billy russo part 2. could have been much better. his face shoud've been deformed much more. like, when he removed the mask I was utterly disappointed. Liked the arc with the psychiatrist though. But that wasn't perfect either, could've been written more convincingly. Now that i think about it, that was the main issue with billy russo part 2... He wasn't convincing as villain, or character as a whole. The pilgrim on the other hand... when he showed up you KNEW something bad was about to happen. He was convincing on another level. When russo was on scene though... just not that much.
This season is really mixed for me. Two things dragged it down for me. Russo's amnesia and his subsequent relationship with the doctor. I hated those scenes, couldn't wait for them to end. I think that making him forget robbed him of the whole arc he got in season one. He turned out to be a monster and now he suddenly, sorta, was not. The first two to four episodes were great. That brawl in the bar, shoutout in the police station - great. Jon Bernthal continues to kick ass in this role, pun a bit intended, and I really liked his growing relationship with The Kid, Amy. And Pilgrim always being just one step behind them added a bit of tension to the episodes. I also enjoyed his arc. Former neo-Nazi who fell from one bad crowd to another one and at the end Frank felt a bit for him, understood his reasons. It neatly showed that Frank, miraculously, is still not a monster on the inside. Season 1 > Season 2 for me.
I thought daredevil season two was a better punisher. Season 2 I feel like they humanized frank too much it wasn’t as brutal as the last 2 appearances by him.
I like him better humanized. You want the shooty shooty only type of Punisher I would refer you to Punisher War Zone. Frank is so dull in that movie it's so bad. But the action is decent
@@stevangonzalez5908uh who wants a humanized punisher. He’s the punisher. And war zone was the best punisher movie. But i guess pew pews aren’t your thing.
I’d say this season suffered from the same issue as Daredevil S2 (which is funny seeing as how DDS2 introduced the Punisher, but I digress). The two main villains not only had absolutely nothing to do with one another, but whenever the show wanted to focus on one villain conflict, the other one felt like it came to a screeching halt (at least in terms of actually interacting with Castle, I’ll admit they at least developed a little while in the background). The first couple episodes had this preacher guy come at Castle continuously with dozens of trained hitman, then the Russo plot began to occur and all he did was put a bounty on Castle’s head and kill gangsters Castle’s already dealt with. Meanwhile Amy (I think that was her real name?) ends up just waiting around for half the season (while Castle deals with Russo) and only gets into trouble when she decides to wander off (at least until the Preacher guy finally starts directly going after Castle in the last quarter of the show). Don’t get me wrong, when looked at individually I was really interested in these conflicts, but I wish that they could’ve just focused on only one for the season (or heck, I wouldn’t have minded a Luke Cage-styled season where the two villain stories are divided into each half of the season). Also of course the action was brutal (but awesome) so that’s always a plus...
Personally, season two was a step back from season one. The bar fight in the first episode was the high point for me, and it left me wondering how 12 more episodes could possibly match it. Simple answer is, it didn't. I think it was mostly the villains...more specifically, the lack of a clear enemy. How could the Medieval torture Castle unleashed on Russo's face leave him looking like the victim of a bad shave? They could at least have put a cloudy lens over one eye or something: his character felt more like a 1960s Batman villain of the week. What the hell happened to John Pilgrim? His arc was meandering and unresolved. The fight at the end felt like a couple of 50-year olds trying to prove they're still 20. It felt almost like Marvel realized the trend Netflix is taking with superhero shows, so decided not to invest the same creative energy into this season.
I agree that season 1 is better. As for Jigsaw's face, I remember Madani mentioning one time that he had facial reconstructive surgery hence why he doesn't look so disfigured like he should have.
I agree except Marvel didn't realise anything as it's a Netflix produced show, Netflix decided not to invest the same creative energy into this season.
@@DORADO1999 (Season 1) I don't find it boring, yes it has Ton of filler but thats all invested on good use, making Frank's charecter more appealing & making viewer's invested in his characterisation despite he is brutal in every sense, S1 showed his pain so clearly & masterfully that it is the perfect charecter development of any Charecter.....
Black SideKick You just reminded me of some oldish comment thread where people were going "Frank probably yells before brushing his teeth every morning" and that when he sleeps he goes *snore* "YouKilledMyFamily" *snore* "YouKilledMyFamily" I wish I could find that comment thread again, it was so damn hilarious
I liked season two to a point. I didn't hate it, but the punisher is one of my favorite comic characters so maybe my view is a little skewed. First few episodes were good, liked the whole bar scene and how Frank was playing with the idea of having a normal life with the bar maid and that whole story with Pilgrim and Amy was,to me, the best parts of the season and maybe should have had more of a spotlight. When they got into the whole Jigsaw thing,it severely slowed down to me. I found myself not really caring about it which is weird cause before,i wanted to see the conclusion to that story and have the big Punisher vs Jigsaw fight, kinda like we saw in the first season finale but with Billy actually dying instead of having his face cut up (which they should have given him more facial damage) or they should have saved the Jigsaw storyline til possible next season but maybe they knew axe was coming so decided to put that story in too maybe, idk. The ending was kinda left open for a third season if Netflix doesn't cancel it (pretty sure we know answer to that) or it's picked up somewhere else somehow. To me it was a ok season. Not the best, but not the worst. The fight scenes and action scenes tho.... beautiful
Really? This season was just way too unfocused for me. It should've stayed either in Michigan, focusing on the Pilgrim, or stayed in New York, focusing on Jigsaw. But because they wanted to do both, both goals felt weak, and it seemed like Frank was just kinda fucking around with no real goal in mind. Like...it's still good, but...not as good as season 1....
they should have made this 2 parts, first with John Pilgrim, then do Billy.. John is the one with high stakes, deep character, man, he is original. May be John could join force with Jigsaw towards the end, cause they both have some business with Frank, This may give a more satisfying, not rushed finale.
*I wish they focused on John Pilgrim trying to catch Amy and Frank beyond the Assault on Precinct 13 scenario (episode 3) and not dealt with Billy at all ~*
To me this season was a lot like Age of Ultron, some moments were just awesome and literally perfect but there was a lot of unnecessary filler that made the whole thing feel disjointed. The first two episodes were good, and then as soon as he got back to NY with the girl it was like they didn't matter at all and were just an extended set up that could've been made shorter. The thing with Russo and Dumont was so obvious from literally their first interaction and the amount of time we spent with them was just arduous for me. As everyone has said, his face was nowhere near fucked up enough for it to be believable, and when everyone keeps commenting on his face it's so forced. I'd much rather have that face than have a leg blown off so they should've really committed to making him look like like he'd had his face shredded off. The psychological aspect of him not remembering what happened to him, trying to be good and yet finding himself still doing bad things was really interesting and honestly that in itself could've been his whole arc. But then they brought in Amy and all that other drama and they really should've just committed to one villain, either the crazy family and their assassin or Russo. I think either one would've been great if they were given the proper attention but when they're both fighting for screen time it's just messy. Madani was alright but Mahoney was just a pain in the ass. He was like a fucking gnome that you keep throwing into the ocean only to find in your yard the next day. Amy had gone through some traumatic shit but she was still such a pain in the ass and even in the final scene, I didn't give a shit about her, they just wrote her mega poorly imo. So much of this season could've been cut out and shit they could've even made it 8 episode of just the good stuff and it would've been way more enjoyable. Still, the fighting was great and the final scene when Frank killed the wife and then made the husband kill himself was so fucking hardcore I forgave most of the issues on the spot. Damn.
I'm kinda shocked that you liked season 2 over season 1. I kinda consider season 1 to be a political action thriller that's almost going for realistic that just has a few touches of comic book stuff (frank being OP as fuck being the main one). Season 2, all realism was basically stripped from the show but they didn't replace it with enough comic book stuff to make up for it to make it more entertaining. Spoilers Russo should have just died at the end of season 1. He just sucks this season. It's basically a joker and harley quinn storyline but way worse. The therapist is just the worst fucking person ever. Nothing she does makes any sense. Her motivations is just awful and she's so poorly written. The last few episodes where Russo and the therapist are falling in love, I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. And yea, the amnesia stuff is really lame and it takes basically all the stakes away from Russo and Frank's relationship from season 1. John Pilgrim was also pretty damn awful up until the last few episodes. I couldn't care less about him for the first half of the season. He had almost no development. Why the fuck are these shows still doing two villains per season? At the very least, focus on one villain and then the other, give them each half a season and quit cutting between the two where you have to sloppily finish them both in the last episode. "Well, it's episode 13, I guess we should get rid of one of these villains pretty quickly, we'll just have Frank walk up and double tap Russo, easy enough." There were a few scenes where I could see the potential for this show to be more comic-booky and fun. If they were going to go with this style over the first season, they didn't go far enough. One such scene was where Frank and Amy go to the guy who takes pictures of underage girls. Amy telling Frank "this is too dark even for you" and then "but I wouldn't blame you if you want to burn his place down" was pretty funny and I wish there were more scenes with the two of them like that. Overall, huge step down in quality between season 1 and 2. Russo was worse and Madani were a lot worse this season. Mahoney was annoying. I'm kinda happy Curtis had more screen time though and I thought Amy was a good addition.
I think John Pilgrim should have been the only villain these season, I mean, he was constantly chasing them the first 3 episodes then suddenly, oops lets forget about him, time for some Billy Russo arc
Personally, I prefer Season 1. Pilgrim and Jigsaw’s arcs were good in Season 2, but the ending to the Season as a whole was anti-climactic. Whereas Season 1 may have been a slow build, but it at least felt like all of the arcs payed off satisfyingly. Also, they should’ve killed off Madani. In Season 1, she was annoying but at least I sympathised with her. But in Season 2, she’s f***ing annoying and makes all of the wrong choices.
To kill a woman? Don't be ridiculous, come on. Women are pure perfection and they get killed only to make a hero feel bad because we are all equal but a woman's life is worth more. *sarcasm*
@@pascalsimioli6777 what about the one woman that was after frank in 1st 2 episodes that pilgrim killed? Or the women that frank kicked their asses in the 1st 3 episodes?😒
@@pamoweiberezi5315 so it's a 2 to 100 ratio? Got it. I enjoyed Frank slaying those bitches because I finally saw women treated like people but then again you have characters like Madani always repeating that they're strong women, stronger than a man, tough (Madani has a few lines about it with an heavy emphasis on the fact she's a woman). Also please don't think I hate women: I just consider them as important as men. If I was Jigsaw I would've killed children instead of women THAT would've destroyed Frank and made a pussy out of him.
Yeah he pulled down his mask and I was like that is it? He just has those scars. I mean they were big scars but he would still be able to steal your girl 9 / 10 times.
agreed. it was way more tactical when it came to gun fights. i feel like the hand to hand fights such as the bar fight and gym fight were really good tho.
Literally just finished the last episode and saw you uploaded this review, solid timing. Even though this season was really good I think I still prefer season 1 but it was tough to decide. I totally agree that Billy's scars were pretty lacklustre considering they built up to the reveal but that's a minor nitpick.
I knew that Dr dumont was gonna end up falling for Billy (literally) the second she first showed. And Amy was just kind of annoying. Overall, a not so good season but I wouldn’t call it bad. It was just too predictable.
I found this season much more better that season one. Expanding Frank's character and relationship with surrounding cast. Oddly I found Jigsaws plot was less interesting than the cristain dude
@Alastor 52 That works very well for a great focused arc. Especially as a continuation from last season. But I was thinking opposite. Drop jigsaw and midani for now. And have the focus be purely on Frank and Amys conflict with the christian dude (John i think his name was). Just because their relationship ship of father and daughter develops very nicely and impacts franks character. It also connects to the motivations and development of john (so called villain of series), and his confrontation with the punisher at the end of the season. Regarding midani. Unlike many character types portrayed in media, she definitely isn't a mary sue, and I believe she is very important to Billy's arc. The one issue I had with the series was its juggling between two stories. Which I can see why people felt like she had too much time. I felt that time could have helped further amy's character, instead of leaving her in the caravan.
@@ConnorMcCartney95 Including the points I made n my original comment and my post to Alastor 52. First I found the first season very boring and uninteresting. I felt personally there was no weight to franks actions or his feelings to crime, which are much better covered in season 2 of Daredevil. In addition the enemies in the first season werent simply thugs with frank stamping his creed upon them. It felt more like mission impossible if thats a fair comparison. I havent seen the season in a while but i remember how I felt. In this season every encounter had weight. Initially frank simply crushing thugs purely out of ideals. But once introduced to amy his actions revolve around her and his relationship with her- excusing the moments when he pursued the subplot of billy. This added weight makes each kill or maiming of villains and thugs much more satisfying. Which all lead up to his Conflict with John (christain dude). Connecting franks goals and new experiences with his motivations.
@@usaydt We've already had Frank as a father figure with Micro's family in season 1. They're just retreading the same boat over and over. His character is so repetitive
Technically, I think it was amazing it even made it to 2 seasons(given the insanity in society these days). Personally I enjoyed both seasons. But the evolution of the connection between Castle and Amy, brought a few tears to my eyes☺.
Honestly i disliked the 2nd season and here i'll give my reasons spoilers to what I say In season 2 it started with frank loving a girl all over again it was interesting he started to care and gain feelings then it all changes cause he protects a girl and then seems to forget about him falling in love they scrap that idea then introduce a new villain who is bad a but then scrap him for billie who shouldve stayed in the hospital until the end of the season and then expand on the idea of the crime syndicates and johns as the villains fighting for the son who was being groomed for the president fighting for him, I think billie shouldve fought the demons this whole season and showing his trauma throughout the season then they made frank castle think he killed innocent women but for plot reasons they forgot about that whole idea and why it was so interesting he thought he killed 3 innocent people they shouldve dragged that out add tension to the series allow billie to torment with frank as he comes back but the show seemed rushed and wanted to be filled with just so many plots and storylines but didnt stick with any and with just action scenes they couldve so easily made punisher season 2 great, im not going to like i hoped madani would die from billie since she injuried billies love interest cause she messed up in that situation because she went off assumptions and then the final dialogue between SGT Mahoney and Madani just seemed so un natural he hated her the whole season has no reason to trust her and has no reason to want to trust her frank may have saved his life but it doesnt mean things would be so straight forward, allow these characters to disagree have a shaking conflict because of everythings that has happened frank killing billie at the end didnt seem like it was really filling of his ending i wouldve loved to see one more season of him struggling with the fact frank is the one who messed him up and coping with that i wanted billie to have some what of a win cause you feel bad for him he doesnt know a thing he's done and everyone has to live with the fact he is alive and can still do damage and still does just emotionally. The end of the season just didnt satisfy me at all you didnt get a build up of the main villains playing as puppet masters and all they talked about is how John you gotta do this and John has done so much for us... like what has he done what is your guy's real goal anyway just to get some pictures you seemed to forget about and then kill frank and the girl with a 5 million dollar bounty on each of there heads but it doesnt seem to matter cause there was only 2 groups of people and one guy who tried to get that bounty so another idea scrapped they had so many ideas but scrapped them or barely expanded off the idea John should've been the main villain and captured franks love interest as he has the girl, the battle goes to new york we see the crime families fighting for the next president, and for fillers we see billie struggling with ptsd and what not, as the season continues Madonie is trying to get billie out of her life Frank is still battling with John and it continues, around the end of the Season with build of billie and madonies relationship have billie escape the compound, frank finds out the true villains and then you have 3 episodes of frank fighting them and killing them off, and by the end of the season Frank wins, the love interest either dies or lives would be interesting either way, Have john go off away cause frank warned him, Billie should be able to become suitable villain for next season once he finds out frank is the one who caused the scares somehow, and it would save the show In my opinion hopefully you enjoyed the long read and yea my ideas of the season
the john pilgrim story was so similar to frank castles it was kinda spooky. he was a hardcore, badass neo nazi enforcer, thanks to a cult he found love and happiness, the cult and his wife asked him to do a rather simple job that spiraled way out of control and he was forced into returning to his old stomping grounds, and dealing with his old issues, and at the end he asked castle "what would you do for your kids, if they were still alive?" seeing the similarities, and knowing that he would do exactly what pilgrim did in pilgrims situation, castle rescued the boys and let him go free. thats a damn good story right there, one of the better ones off comic book tv show originals. mahoney and turk are from other netflix - marvel shows, there for the hard core fans of marvel-netflix
Spectacular show. Genuine love for the source material, and it's evident that Jon Bernthal really knows and respects the character of Frank Castle intimately.
I think you hit the nail on the head. S1 was well written and it told a good story. However the drama to violence ratio was to high for the Punisher we were introduced to in Daredevil S2. In S2 the violence was really ratcheted up to be the Punisher DD S2 gave us. The dual story lines were quite disjointed in my mind. I think it would have been better if they were split into 2 separate 8-10 episode seasons. The Jigsaw Season probably could have been a great 10 episode season if the Amy/Pilgrim/Anderson plot was pulled out. To me the first 3 episodes (Outside the action set pieces) served only get Frank to New York. The Amy/Pilgrim arc started off great, but it faded away and resolved abruptly. I wish that it would have been its own season. As an aside, I thought Ben Barnes (Russo) delivered a fantastic performance
I liked the majority of this season actually. Amy was a great character, that added a bunch of emotion to every action frank took. Amy & Franks chemistry was infectious. Pilgrim was easily my least favourite part about this season. I felt like he needed more screen time quite honestly. The actor done his job, but I didn’t like how they handled him. They tried to make us feel empathy for him, even after we know he shoots teenagers & does various awful things. They also never really gave us an explanation as to how he’s so experienced as a shootist & a hand to hand combatant. They tell us that he used to live a life of sin, and that he used to kill people. Still doesn’t make sense to me that he could handle the punisher. The character just needed more time.
Mohd Amerul Aidil yeah true, the therapist really annoyed me actually. Here’s why [SPOILERS] My biggest problem I had with the therapist was In the fight with Madani. A trained Homeland security agent, can barley handle a psychiatrist in hand to hand combat.
Dead show walking for sure. I like season 1 and 2 differently. Season 1 I don’t have many gripes about though. Season 2 castle should have worn his costume every episode. These don’t feel like comic shows, because besides daredevil, no one is dressed in outrageous hero attire. That is part of the aesthetic that people love about super heroes. Then there is billy and his scars. I believe if they had just played connect the lines with his scars it would solved all those critiques. It wouldn’t make him too ugly but his face would look like it’s in pieces. John pilgrim definitely needed to be killed or fleshed put more. I feel like I would have liked it i that plot ended around episode 6-7, which were slower episodes. Then the main arc of the season is about the detective and billy.
Mark Hendley fair but that’s my biggest complaint about all netflix marvel. I love me a good super hero suit and would have been fun to see frank castle suit up more.
@@MrIknoweverything101 to be fair Jessica Jones and luke cage doesn't wear suits. If a character can't be compelling without a suit that they are a poorly made character. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see frank wear the suit more though.
Mark Hendley I’m not saying they aren’t still good without suits. It’s just comics are visual medium and these shows visual styles all blend together too much. Jessica jones doesn’t need one you are right. But Luke cage has iconic looks whether they be suits or not. It would have really set these shows apart from each other if they each developed their own visual style and color pallet unique to them. I would have liked to see multiple costume changes from iron fist, he is billionaire where are all the fancy suits. I would have also liked to see him use both fists from the start. Or even has is arch in the first season learning to unlock his second fist. I wish Jessica jones could fly in the show, and I wish Luke cage came across even more like an unstoppable tank. I also think daredevil should have guest starred in each other show before defenders. The. Defenders comes out, lower it to 4 episodes with the same budget. First episode our heroes are brought together by Matt recruiting soldiers to help. The fight scenes would show 4 visually distinctive characters, fighting in different styles. Also show so team up take downs with each hero. Jessica flies around saving people or taking out bad guys that way. Luke cage runs around like the hulk smashing everything and taking no damage. Iron fist has bad as green and yellow suit and two fists doing crazy fast martial arts. Daredevil is leading everyone with his super senses and fights with his bully club that he fails around hitting every target with perfect accuracy. Punisher is the one show with unique tone, style and fights because he is ultra violent. I’m not saying it’s the end of the world we didn’t see him suit up more jus would have been nice in this slow ass season. Especially possibly being the last.
this was much better than season 2 for sure. liked how they fleshed out other characters like madani. only things that they just ignored was whatever happened to frank's wedding ring and what the hell happened to the woman who was in the hospital, the bartender. is she still alive?
Alright Jeremy! I loved season 2 even more than season 1 as well - right from episode 1. I gave it a "Shaka Thumbs Up " in my review, man I hope Netflix doesn't cancel this show....😟
I was a bit disappointed that the girl Frank met in the bar (Beth, I think it was) was only in like 2 episodes. Frank should've visted her at the end of the season. It just seems like something he'd do
Punisher Season 2 wasn't bad, but it suffers under the weight of a LOT of missed opportunities, the biggest of which was a meaningful conversation about what separates Frank Castle from a psychopath murderer with a criminal fetish. They even tried to talk about it near the end of the season, but it fell flat and amounted to "I gotta do what I'm good at". Totally unsatisfying. That convo should have been at least half an episode, and lots of great pros and cons could have been introduced to tie Netflix Marvel to the MCU. Anyone: We have cops to handle this stuff. Frank: They don't. They're corrupt or overworked. Too many laws that protect the powerful from the consequences of their orders. Just look at Kingpin. Anyone: Yeah, but new heroes are coming out every day. That Devil guy took down the Kingpin... Twice! Anyone Else: Yeah, and what about that bulletproof dude in Harlem? Or that guy in Queens? He caught a car, for crying out loud! Calls himself the Friendly Neighborhood... something... Frank: Yeah, half measures. These masked do-gooders capture criminals and then leave them for the cops to process. They aren't showing up in court to testify, most of the evidence they collected is inadmissible, and even the stupidest lawyers get these guys out at arraignment. No, they might stop Individual crimes, or at best the culmination of a major plan, but those criminals get back out and do the same things they did before. Anyone: But that's the law. And Kingpin is back in jail, so it's not like they accomplished nothing. Frank: I was in jail with that monster. Being behind bars didn't slow him down in the slightest. No, catch and release only handles the symptoms. I provide a cure. Anyone: You don't "cure" anything. You kill people. Frank: No, you're reducing what I do to fit in your narrow view of the world. The criminals I've taken out will never commit a crime again. You guys are so centered on the immediate effect that you don't view the long term. Let's take Billy, for example. I stopped him, I beat him, but I left him alive. Some of that was because I wanted him to suffer, but a large measure was because of you, Madani. You wanted to do this by the book; no killing. Take him in and let the Justice System work. So, even though I thought you were dead, I respected your wish and let him live. Now look at this whole mess. Dozens of people dead, hundreds of lives ruined, and it's all on me. Because I didn't stop him when I had the chance. -SILENCE STRECHES- Frank: You think this is all about me, don't you? That I'm just rampaging around with a revenge fantasy and murdering anyone that gets in my way. This isn't about revenge. It never was. Revenge is an emotional response and incompatible with Justice. No, this is Punishment.
Can't believe how well all the plot lines connected into each other, but still had a bit of a tired whatever ending. You can tell they assumed it was the last season and that the easy way out was that eventually everyone would get tired of killing people, except the Punisher.
no Time cause it’s the Punisher, I dont like the show made him a romantic and a ladies man personally. Punisher is better alone. They were trying to do that same thing with Logan and Amy but somehow I cared for them more personally. Also Billy Russo was not a good villain and his storyline was weak.
that whole billy/krista story line was a clear JOKER/HARLEY QUINN ripoff Some crazy villian with a weird scared face breaks out of an hospital with the help of his psychiatrist, then he immediately gathers large a group of people to commit crimes around town then convinces them to take on the most dangerous hero in town. while in the background the psychiatrist falls in love with him. helping in his crazy plans, helping to plan a murder then trying to murder a cop. she survived the fall so she can come back next season as a cyborg (mechanically enhance) or something like War Machine to avenge billy's death.
The season was totally meh. Your reaction to season 1 is how I felt with this season. The first season totally grabbed me. This did not. The action scenes were the best part for sure. The first 3 episodes were great. But once they got to New York, it went down hill. Should have just focused on Pilgrim and the Schultz family and saved Jigsaw, but I guess we know the show probably is going to be canceled so they had to shoe horn the billy stuff to end it this season. Both story lines just didn't gel and the russo/dr. stuff was so boring and uninteresting. I wish he would have actually remembered Punisher destroying his face and I wish the scars would have been worse. Plus I didn't like the ending. So anticlimactic. Like I said, should have just focused on Pilgrim.
Frank stopped feeling like the Punisher to me when he let the pedophile live. That's not something he ever would have done. Which is a shame because Bernthal is a pitch-perfect Punisher.
Made sense that he didn't kill Pilgrim. He was essentially a soldier following orders like Castle when he killed Madani's partner. And when he asked him what he would've done if he had the chance to save his family and Castle said "Anything". There's no way he was going to kill him after that.
The Punisher's second season is amazing! I love the old testiment overtones, the way it plays like an old fashion western set in New York. It paints morality as grey and has fun with topical events, such as Frank saying he is old fashined and doesnt like Russians. And this is the role John Bernthal was born to play. And the actor playing the Mennanite is superb. It is a story of redemption and learning to love again when broken. Honestly less episodes is not the answer... more are. More episodes dealing with Mahoneys struggles and playing up the cat and mouse stuff, albeit a really well armed and tough mouse.
I was ok to wait and see what else they did with Billy Russo with them wanting to go the mental jigsaw route. But they still tried to do several "face reveal" scenes where people acted like he was hideous and couldn't look at him. It made me laugh every time.
Hey Jeremy, love your content, man. I enjoyed both seasons of "The Punisher", but for different reasons. Hope they don't cancel it like they have most of the other Marvel Netflix properties, but I'm not holding my breath. You should check out "The Umbrella Academy" trailer, if you haven't already. Might be Netflix's big, new, super hero show.
I thought it was two seasons of a great Frank Castle story, the guy who would be Punisher, but never got there. After an incredible debut on Season 2 of Daredevil Season 1 of Punisher starts with him burning his uniform and then moping the rest of the season. Season 2 starts off with him on the road, giving up that lifestyle, then being pulled back in. The problem with both seasons though is we never get the cold, calculated, strategic Punisher. We get Frank Castle being overemotional, making dumb choices and being more Hulk smash then Punisher. It seemed at the end of both seasons we got the real Punisher but then it ended. So for me, the last few episodes of each season were the best season.
I thought I was the only one to think this, everyone raving about this show and I'm just sat here confused, wondering when the actual Punisher was gonna show up to his own show lol. This is why I hated it, both seasons in fact; he already became Punisher at the end of Daredevil season 2, we shouldn't have had to sit through two whole seasons for him to come back full circle. Jigsaw was just as bad too, a whole season to set him up only to have him lose all his memory thus all motivation to get revenge against Frank, talk about wasted potential. Its an entertaining action show but a terrible Punisher show.

Loved s1 and s2 of The Punisher! His intro in Daredevil s2 was epic! Think he should’ve gotten at least 4 seasons. Wished they had a Daredevil cameo or 2 in season2. Jon Bernthal absolutely nailed the role.
She was. I understand they wanted to give her a revenge arc, but she came off more like that girl you have a one night stand with but she wanted more. So she feels played and now wants to ruin your life. Also, we're meant to believe she can outduel the guy who went toe to toe with Punisher. Ok.
I really enjoyed season 2 even a little more than season 1 which was great but really heavy. season 2 was a little more comic book and the fight choreography was on point.
Hey Jeremy, your channel is great, is full of good movie reviews and spoiler. When I want to go watch a movie or new movie, your review never disappoint me; it saves me a lot of time; like you used to say "I watch it so you don't have to watch it". I always been a fan of your review. You review lots of movies, games and etc, but never foreign movies; I mean like Korean, Chinese, or other Asian film that is Awsomtacular. Like Kingdom in Netflix, men from no where, or others good Asian Flim that worth the times to watch....it will save lots of people's time watching your review before spending more time on the movies like me......maybe its one more step further.?....Just saying..thx..
Yeah it's funny you mentioned Smallville since a certain actor/actress was in Season 2. Spoiler...it's long read... I actually like season 1 more than season 2 because I felt like I understand and like most characters in season 1. Frank relationship with Mirco was more believable than with him and Amy. Amy was an annoying character for me for about eleven episode. Characters that I really like in Season 1 became somewhat annoying in this season for example Curtis was bugging me in certain episode. I hated the Billy Russo plot line because it could have been much better but instead he loss his memories which never returned at all and quickly got killed. That woman who was trying to help Billy out was a basic Harley Quinn type character but unlike the real Harley I didn't like her at all. Action was hyper violence but that was best part of this season. That Karen cameo was really pointless and kind of forced imo. Pilgrim was one of the new characters I didn't care for at all along with Amy which if that plotline wasn't in the show and they focus on the Billy Russo plot completely than I would have like it more. I would have Billy remember everything he did and have him slowly manipulated the wannabe Harley Quinn into believing he love her while using her knowledge to get what he wants. Of Course this happens in the show but she voluntarily help Billy to break Frank Castle mentally which didn't last nearly as long as you would think. All in all season one left me more sasifity unlike this season was more of a meh it was okay.
I loved season 1. Season 2 was not as good, but I still really liked it. It is really too bad that we will not see more of Jon Bernthal's Punisher. I really liked him as the character.
"Don't look at me! I'm a monster! You can't fix this!" 3 episodes later the mask is finally removed, and it looks like a badass supermodel...
LOL
So they made him more of an actual person the the one dimensional comic book character that nobody cares about and that's a problem?

I'm pretty sure john pilgrim was supposed to be the only real season 2 villain and jig saw was to return as a threat in season 3...but It's pretty clear to me that the show runners and writers knew Netflix marvel shows were getting canceled so they combined 2 seasons into one and tried to give the fans a satisfying enough conclusion...something the other shows didnt have time to do since they came out earlier in the year.
theduke548 apparently The Punisher didn’t have time to develop its final show either since it felt rushed as fuck, and really badly edited
I come from the future and to answer your question it’s Disney +‘s fault
It got cancelled mid season 2 production so the season 2 finale got rewritten
@@joeyhammer6702 funny enough the shows are on Disney+ now🤣🤣🤣 im still surprised that Disney allowed these shows on their streaming app
My mouth would have been so watery.
no blame "thisnat" iywkm
Dormammu I’ve come to bargain
Like every Marvel show on Netflix, it seem like they were forced to think of a series finale, because they knew the odds of being cancelled were pretty big.
Pilgrim reminded me of The Mennonite in Garth Ennis's Punisher Max arc when he was hired by the Kingpin.
Anyone remember that Mahoney was a beat cop in Daredevil season 1?
TheHighButWise and wasn’t he pursuing the Punisher in season 2? He’s already fleshed out Jeremy!
He's in all three seasons of Daredevil.
Yeah if I remember correctly Daredevil gave him the credit for catching Punisher and he got promoted. He was also a pretty big part of season 1 of Punisher too.
@@sshadow2 yeah, I'm not sure Jeremy has watched some of the other Netflix shows. Mahoney shows up in nearly all of them at some point.
Yeah he's also in an episode of JJ season 1.
Someone explain to me how Frank recovers so fast every time.... this man gets shot, stabbed, beaten up and recovers in no time....
Because he's the Punisher
If you watch closely most of his wounds carry over through most the season with respect to the in story time. He has a frikin hand cast for like 3 episodes and is mostly limping around everywhere. You have to give the show some credit for at least making it somewhat credible and you can bridge the gap of disbelief by the fact that he subjects himself to this trauma regularly and is sued to it.
The Punisher has an insane level of durability and pain tolerance
That might be true, still..... its like he has a healing factor sometimes....
@@bluemeister22 he has
I like both seasons...the way season 2 end....its like it knows it getting cancelled
Agreed
Season one was better IMO for two simple reasons. Season 2 had zero iconic scenes.. amazing action but the most memorable was the fight scene with the gym equipment.
Season one on the other hand.... The final battle with Bill was legendary especially the way he rationalizes not killing him “you’re gonna learn about pain *flashback* you’re gonna learn about loss *flashback* ...... you’re gonna remember me!”
but more importantly, there is no scene in season 2 like my favorite scene to have ever been filmed with a camera (movie/tv/short film/etc) which is in season 1, the death of Rawlings and Frank choosing between being with his wife or embracing who he is as the Punisher . The wife hallucinations and the “I am home” ...... fucking chills. Raw violence and emotion that could just never be topped
I rate Punisher season 2 a 7.75/10
Derek Gianchetta Are you saying the Lillian scene wasn’t iconic? Peasant...
@@fissilewhistle
What's their in Lillian scene dude, yes it brings the two characters close which is inevitable at some point but it has nothing to do with being great or something, S1 has crazy good last 4 episodes, yes it has so much filler but it is all invested in charecter development of Frank & for building the very good final episodes.....
Every fight scene was iconic in season 2.
I agree with you absolutely but I’d rank the punisher lower. Maybe a low 6 to a high 5 imo
Really??? I don't disagree with the the good you say about season 1, but litterally every fightscene in season two was fucking RAWWW, you don't find them iconic? Get outta here!
Wait you don't know who Mahoney is?he was in like almost every show
All the way back to Daredevil season 1
BIGMOE375 yeah that one confused me, I felt like they showed plenty of Mahoney and his struggle with right versus wrong.
Exactly, and he did what Jeremy suggested already, but with his struggle to accept Daredevil (and he really didn't kill anybody). It seemed like it was hard enough for Medani to come to grips with Frank finally! 😃🤙
@Samuel Maurer. Don't forget my man turk barret

@@Ravenbones People who say "cringy" are virgins.

Iron Fist sucked
Daredevil kinda had a finale too, just forget about bullseye
TM Martin season 2 improved tho
@Er boro yeah I loved how he did it ...that's my punisher
Frank in Season 2 is more Jack Reacher than Frank Castle.
Exactly right
He doesn't kill those guys because in his mind he'd be the monster.
That first episode of Punisher was amazing. It was very much a modern day western. The music played tied in so well to his character. I enjoyed the punisher overall but that episode can get multiple viewings. I am surprised and happy that a series like this is still possible.
there are scenes that are still worth going back and seeing on youtube though like that gym fight lol
I wished they stayed in that setting than having to go back to New York, that place is already a crowded setting.
Loved the bathroom fight
Merwanor I agree 100%
Hell yes that second paragraph holy shit that is like every show, Legion S2 was like that.

I kept waiting for Frank or someone interesting to reference him _as_ "Jigsaw" but it never came, just felt like Billy Russo part 2.
and to be honest nobody in this world will care for all that shit u just typed out lol we will all continue our lifes
Yep. It is trash
@Mind of the North Star
I think it was some bad writing on billy russo part 2. could have been much better. his face shoud've been deformed much more. like, when he removed the mask I was utterly disappointed.
Only part of his character that disappointed me was the lack of severe scarring. There wasn't enough of it. His performance was actually really good.
Season 1 > Season 2
agreed 100%! season 2 first 4 episodes were great. iw ish the rest of the series was the same.
Amen
Yea season 1 was alot better
Season 2 was turgid and weird, and often seemed cheaply made.
Season 1 was boring asf it dragged on for so long
Yea you hit the point. They just waste all potential because they knew there won't be next season, but it's very unprofessional

Like...it's still good, but...not as good as season 1....
strongly agreed. with emphasis on 'fucking around'. i couldn't get pass ep 5. i don't know what they are trying to do it's so boring.
My thoughts exactly!
they should have made this 2 parts, first with John Pilgrim, then do Billy.. John is the one with high stakes, deep character, man, he is original. May be John could join force with Jigsaw towards the end, cause they both have some business with Frank, This may give a more satisfying, not rushed finale.

The Punisher was very enjoyable
I loved season 1 and 2. I want Season 3 and 4 now
@@MrSr3nity_97 I wish
*I wish they focused on John Pilgrim trying to catch Amy and Frank beyond the Assault on Precinct 13 scenario (episode 3) and not dealt with Billy at all ~*
Yeah, it felt like 2 seasons mashed together.
The first four episodes had me hooked on Pilgrim. And then I cared less about him after that.
Exactly. I couldnt stand Billy.
Madani got shot in the head and still has her memories, Russo gets scratched and forgets his whole life
To me this season was a lot like Age of Ultron, some moments were just awesome and literally perfect but there was a lot of unnecessary filler that made the whole thing feel disjointed.
Damn.
When he came to her house, I knew they were gonna pork at some point
I'm kinda shocked that you liked season 2 over season 1. I kinda consider season 1 to be a political action thriller that's almost going for realistic that just has a few touches of comic book stuff (frank being OP as fuck being the main one). Season 2, all realism was basically stripped from the show but they didn't replace it with enough comic book stuff to make up for it to make it more entertaining.
Spoilers
Russo should have just died at the end of season 1.
"Well, it's episode 13, I guess we should get rid of one of these villains pretty quickly, we'll just have Frank walk up and double tap Russo, easy enough."
There were a few scenes where I could see the potential for this show to be more comic-booky and fun.
I couldn't agree more. Specially the part about the Ruso-psychatrist relationship being a joker-harley Quinn rip off.
I think John Pilgrim should have been the only villain these season, I mean, he was constantly chasing them the first 3 episodes then suddenly, oops lets forget about him, time for some Billy Russo arc
@@justanotherblackwhitemicke7817exactly, i even skipped some scenes
Jeremy grew up with wolverine because he grunts like him.
I finished the second season today and looked up what Jigsaw looked like in the comics. And wow! They could’ve put mire effort into it.
*sarcasm*
Wrong decision like what?
@@pascalsimioli6777 pretty sure women are easier to come by than children
Didn't name Mahoney? Did Jeremy not watch Daredevil? The closest thing we have to The Dark Knight trilogy; especially after that third season? Smh
i want his face to be much worse also.
So did I, but it made sense since according to Dinah Madani, he had facial reconstructive surgery.
The Black Lodger didn't have to
How did he even afford it I thought they froze all his assets
Yeah he pulled down his mask and I was like that is it? He just has those scars. I mean they were big scars but he would still be able to steal your girl 9 / 10 times.
Even though it's not great, watch Punisher: War Zone that looks more along the lines of what Jigsaw should look like.
Wait...you liked Season 2 but not Season 1? That's a real head scratcher.
Yeah Season 2 had a lot more CGI Blood. The shootouts in season 1 were more realistic to me
agreed. it was way more tactical when it came to gun fights. i feel like the hand to hand fights such as the bar fight and gym fight were really good tho.

Literally just finished the last episode and saw you uploaded this review, solid timing. Even though this season was really good I think I still prefer season 1 but it was tough to decide. I totally agree that Billy's scars were pretty lacklustre considering they built up to the reveal but that's a minor nitpick.

Hate that idiot
Why was it better to you?
@@usaydt "I found the first season very boring" thought that.
@@usaydt We've already had Frank as a father figure with Micro's family in season 1. They're just retreading the same boat over and over. His character is so repetitive

"RUSSSOOOO!!!"
Honestly i disliked the 2nd season and here i'll give my reasons spoilers to what I say
In season 2 it started with frank loving a girl all over again it was interesting he started to care and gain feelings then it all changes cause he protects a girl and then seems to forget about him falling in love they scrap that idea then introduce a new villain who is bad a but then scrap him for billie who shouldve stayed in the hospital until the end of the season and then expand on the idea of the crime syndicates and johns as the villains fighting for the son who was being groomed for the president fighting for him,
I think billie shouldve fought the demons this whole season and showing his trauma throughout the season then they made frank castle think he killed innocent women but for plot reasons they forgot about that whole idea and why it was so interesting he thought he killed 3 innocent people they shouldve dragged that out add tension to the series allow billie to torment with frank as he comes back but the show seemed rushed and wanted to be filled with just so many plots and storylines but didnt stick with any and with just action scenes they couldve so easily made punisher season 2 great, im not going to like i hoped madani would die from billie since she injuried billies love interest cause she messed up in that situation because she went off assumptions and then the final dialogue between SGT Mahoney and Madani just seemed so un natural he hated her the whole season has no reason to trust her and has no reason to want to trust her frank may have saved his life but it doesnt mean things would be so straight forward, allow these characters to disagree have a shaking conflict because of everythings that has happened frank killing billie at the end didnt seem like it was really filling of his ending i wouldve loved to see one more season of him struggling with the fact frank is the one who messed him up and coping with that i wanted billie to have some what of a win cause you feel bad for him he doesnt know a thing he's done and everyone has to live with the fact he is alive and can still do damage and still does just emotionally.
3:25 he is not "a" cop, he is the same beat cop who was foggy and Mat's friend from DD season 1
You are awesometaculer Jeremy jahn...
the punisher did not have enough “HUUUAAAAAGGGHHHHH”s
Ben Barnes was fantastic in this. You cannot deny how this man pulls out anger and drama.
That thumbnail is so great!
Here’s why [SPOILERS]
My biggest problem I had with the therapist was In the fight with Madani. A trained Homeland security agent, can barley handle a psychiatrist in hand to hand combat.
Darknight 307 yeah that bothered me too
Here's a good question, where's ARROW seasons 4,5 and 6 reviews? ..and flash seasons 3 and 4...i'm still waiting for them lol.
They're shit
Don't you compare those shitty CW shows with marvel (Daredevil & Punisher) masterpiece.
Hell no I hate those shows now they’re cringe
Screw the detective, billy, and his dumbass Harley Quinn stand-in shrink. When they went back to New York is when the show nose dived.
If you've ever read a punisher comic you'd know he spends a lot of time out of the costume being an average joe
Would your kindly do a bioshock infinite spoiler review

Alright Jeremy! I loved season 2 even more than season 1 as well - right from episode 1. I gave it a "Shaka Thumbs Up " in my review, man I hope Netflix doesn't cancel this show....😟
If the purpose of this season was to make me not care/hate Punisher and all his allies then yeah it was great.
-SILENCE STRECHES-
Frank: You think this is all about me, don't you? That I'm just rampaging around with a revenge fantasy and murdering anyone that gets in my way. This isn't about revenge. It never was. Revenge is an emotional response and incompatible with Justice. No, this is Punishment.
Man I wish your comment was the script. Sounds much better and pretty logical too
Dang! This is sick. And that last line. 👌
Can't believe how well all the plot lines connected into each other, but still had a bit of a tired whatever ending.
You can tell they assumed it was the last season and that the easy way out was that eventually everyone would get tired of killing people, except the Punisher.
The girl was sooooo incredibly annoying...
I hated the storyline with the con artist girl. Why tf was The Punisher so quick to throw his life away for a girl he knew for a couple days?
no Time cause it’s the Punisher, I dont like the show made him a romantic and a ladies man personally. Punisher is better alone. They were trying to do that same thing with Logan and Amy but somehow I cared for them more personally. Also Billy Russo was not a good villain and his storyline was weak.
@Alastor 52 not really,it's just that frank moved on,and wanted to settle down
Alastor 52 especially ditching him to hang out with her “homegirl”. I would have gave up on her after that point
When she left off the trailer alone to see her friend when there's 5 million dollars bounty on her, I was like this girl's dumb af.
that whole billy/krista story line was a clear JOKER/HARLEY QUINN ripoff
Some crazy villian with a weird scared face breaks out of an hospital with the help of his psychiatrist, then he immediately gathers large a group of people to commit crimes around town then convinces them to take on the most dangerous hero in town. while in the background the psychiatrist falls in love with him. helping in his crazy plans, helping to plan a murder then trying to murder a cop. she survived the fall so she can come back next season as a cyborg (mechanically enhance) or something like War Machine to avenge billy's death.
I felt for the Pilgrim, i felt for Billy and i felt for Frank.. But god damn Madani annoyed the frick out of me
Season 2 was the best for me, way up there with Daredevil season 1
yea it was a great binge. not sure which season I enjoyed more tho. I still need to rewatch S1
Frank stopped feeling like the Punisher to me when he let the pedophile live. That's not something he ever would have done. Which is a shame because Bernthal is a pitch-perfect Punisher.
Perfect?! He is nothing like Frank Castle at all.
@@gregoryl.levitre9759 sure.
Give us season 3!!!!

Damn! An Otacon and Snake reference. That's why we love your show Jeremy, you ain't fuckin' around!
Did anyone catch the Weird Al Yankovich reference??? Did ya?

Yo, Jeremy!
Are you gonna review Resident Evil 2 Remake?
Loved The Punisher S2, shame it's the last season.
Loved s1 and s2 of The Punisher! His intro in Daredevil s2 was epic! Think he should’ve gotten at least 4 seasons. Wished they had a Daredevil cameo or 2 in season2. Jon Bernthal absolutely nailed the role.
Agent madani is probably the most arrogant, rude and annoying character in the marvel universe.
she was good in season1 because she served purpose but not so much in season 2 hence she came off as irrelevant.
After been betrayed and shot in the head by billy, she has the right to be.
She was. I understand they wanted to give her a revenge arc, but she came off more like that girl you have a one night stand with but she wanted more. So she feels played and now wants to ruin your life.
Also, we're meant to believe she can outduel the guy who went toe to toe with Punisher. Ok.
Ture that!
Reamusray That krista was worse
The religious hitman storyline was so interesting it felt like a slap in the face with how it ended.
Totally agree with this comment
Pretty sure it was filmed at the same time as Daredevil season 3. I think it worked fine though.
I loved season 1.
Season 2 was not as good, but I still really liked it.
It is really too bad that we will not see more of Jon Bernthal's Punisher. I really liked him as the character.
