    Just to summarize his interview, he obtained a 1 yr. diploma from Centennial College (Toronto), moved to Nova Scotia after he graduated and waited to be employed then applied for his PGWP. So meaning, his PGWP is only valid for a year but still managed to apply for a PR since it is under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program because he is now based in Nova Scotia?

Firstly, if I am planning to eventually apply for PR under the Atlantic Program, would studying within that province benefit my PR profile when compared to studying in another province (eg. Ontario)? Secondly, would you say AIPP has a better and faster success rate for international students applying for PR as opposed to OINP? Thank you.

    Thank you guys for the video! It was super useful for me since I’m planning to apply for information and communication technology 1 year program in Vancouver. I’m super nervous about getting job and if 1 year will be enough to get a job. I just wanna be sure if I understood correctly so he said that after you finish your study you have like 90 days to apply for a work permit and you can look for a job that period. So that means it is better to apply after nearly 80-90 days? and after you get the permit your 1 year starts? Thanks in advance !☺️☺️

I am fine with nbcc but planning to take next yr fall 2021 which aip program will end that yr as well. Is it hard to get PR in BC? Btw, planning to take business ad. Hope you will reply! Thank you so much for being an inspiration! 💕

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  4 года назад +4

      Hi and thanks for your kind feedback 😀Its really nice to hear you are inspired by the videos!
      Regarding your question:
      BC is in general a bit harder to get PR, but it depends on your details as well. Look up the provincial programs in BC (PNP ) and the federal ones.
      But if you get a PGWP for 2-3 years you have some time to get work experience points etc.
      Yes AIPP is running out but I would not be surprised if they extend it or come up with something similar. The Atlantic provinces are really trying to get people to move there and grow the economy.

    Hello MC, thanks a lot for sharing this insightful video and thank you to Dex for sharing his experience. I just have a quick question as I am planning to have a 1 year posy degree program under marketing and I am looking at my program options now in applying for PR - Express Entry Federal Skilled Worker specifically. One of the requirements for this program is to have a 1 year Canadian experience. Although working while you are in student visa is accepted and will be counted for the 1,560 hours for as long as they are: paid by wages or commissions
    and was continuous (no gaps in employment).
    My question is that, do I have to stick with the same employer for the whole 1,560 hours or it will not matter for as long as I have accumulated this total hours and CONTINUOUS regardless of the employer. I can't see to find that info on the website, would be great if you could let me know if you have some info on that front.
    Thanks a lot!

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  4 года назад +2

      Hi Rich, we both did the same, I studied nursing in the Philippines and took business ad course here, for me its easy to justify because I got a recent exp in business before I applied for student permit, so i told the immigration officer that I dont have the business knowledge that would support my business experience, and also since my previous education is completely different and now I am changing my career,

  • @ferman8397
    @ferman8397 3 года назад +2

    Hi , Actually this is a very good video for my questions. I am sure even many immigration advisors dont know many details like this. I am also studying in 1 year electrician program in NBCC and I was thinking how to manage PR with 1 year PGWP. I know there is a waiting period after graduation but I think to get this extra time you have to apply for Visitor Record which gives you extra 180 days.
    I have some questions on the interview. Because I am not sure about that. For ex my study permit is valid till 18/09/2021 but my school finishes on 11 June 2021 so I already have 3 months more to the end of my study permit. He said that after graduation he went on working 20 hours a week in student status. So as we finished the school but still having study permit , are we allowed to work off campus 20 hours ? If that is correct , it is great. Because the school guys told me that you can work untill you are a student in the school but I think they also miss some info because in my way of thinking you are still a student in summer term even you graduated.
    Another question is that he said he used extra 90 days for finding a job. Is that 90 days , coming from the days left from the study permit or days from visitor record application ?
    What also I understood from his words that he applied the PGWP at the night of his first day of the job. So this way you gain extra time added to the 1 year work permit ' right? Because what they told me in the school is the PGWP starts as soon as you apply but may be they wanted to mean that when you apply you become eligible to work but your 1 year PGWP starts to be counted only after you get the official approval. Is it right ?
    Normally how long does it take to get an approval on it while you are working ?
    Last question : for example you study in Toronto and work in Nova Scotia so your PR process will be working in Nova Scotia rules which is Atlantic Pliot program , right ? So for ex I study in NB but if I go to Manitoba and find a job there so I can apply for Manitoba Provincial Nominee program right ?
    Thx a lot;)

    Hi MC! Im also planning to get a Post Grad Certificate with Centenial College. Is it possible to get a PR in Ontario after 1 year of a full time job? ( assuming I get a PGWP after my studies) Or would you recommend that I take a 2 yr diploma instead so that I'll have a chance of getting a 2 to 3 yrs PGWP?
    My main concern is that I may get a low CRS score if I'll only work full time for 1 yr in Ontario.

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  3 года назад +1

      Hi,
      Did you already check your CRS Score and other immigration programs? I would base it on that. But its definitely safer to have a longer PGWP and have more time to accumulate Canadian experience, points, find a good job, etc. But also more expensive to study longer...
      It depends on you ;) Both is possible :)

I know you can move anywhere and do any job but do they count towards your PR after your pgwp has expired? The info on canada.ca is a bit confusing hence the question. Only professional jobs are counted towards your PR or any job? Can you elaborate on that please? Thanks.

      Secondly can you also shed some light on the reason as to why he believed Aipp is better way to a PR rather than fsw or cec? Are the chances better in aipp?

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  3 года назад +1

      Hi,
      the higher the NOC (skill 0, A or B) the better. it . Yes its usually just professional work experience that counts. Working at lots of different places for a short time only is not good though. They want to see solid continuous work experience as much as possible.
      Each program has their pros and cons and works better for some than others.
      However the AIPP give some easier options, you might find an eligible employer in a different or less skilled field but still be able to immigrate through aipp

    Hola Madam MC, I'm about to face the same problem as Sir, I'm about to take a Biotechnology program in Centennial in Jan 2021 and will end in Aug 2021 also. I'm planning to apply for the 1 year pgwp and take his advice of presenting the grad letter to show that its literally one year LOL. I'm planning to stay anywhere in Ontario to build up that PR easily and I don't have any idea of what will be next after my PGWP has expired, will I apply for an extension, apply for a work permit, or apply for the PR immediately. If you are reading this Madam MC please do give an advice, I really want to achieve that PR so bad :(. Many Thanks for the videos btw very informative and very helpful for students planning to study in Canada :)

      If you can get PR or not totally depends on your CRS score or whichever score is relevant for the immigration stream you are using.
      Here is one of the calculators for skilled workers - Express Entry

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  4 года назад +1

      If you have straight As in the entire program you will get an "honour" indicated on the transcript, but honestly speaking they don't look at your grades, they look on your qualifications work experience, volunteer experience, professional license, community involvement, etc, grades don't really weigh at all, actually its a bad impression to show them off your grades, they value the soft skills rather than the hard skills. You can always ask for a recommendation letter from your professors :) and you need to build your networking skills i believe to be recommended.
