I reckon you’ve had a few to many bush chooks before this vid Dom, it’s a swivel not a schivel the old glazed eye’s don’t lie to funny, love your work after you’ve had a couple!!
Nah mate..it was the spot light camera. You wouldnt understand me if I was tanked. And the swivel, shrivel or schivle...thing some bloody thing😁👍
hey Dom good informative vid. we've tried a few different rigs depending on water depth, current and size of fish. for new players perhaps you could also share your reel size, mainline braid strength and rod type. all adds up to full package and helps newbies and experienced guys too to sharpen up their knowledge and skills. more fish in the bag for a dinner. keep fishing Dom
Hey mate, thanks alot for that. Will do that sometime. We'll done on mixing it up and experimenting aswell👍👍
I found this vid in a timely fashion as I need to make up some new whiting rigs. I am ditching the long shank hooks and going to try No 4 circle hooks. The trash fish just swallow the long shanks too often and they end up gutted and dead by the time you get them free. One question though. Where did you get those board type rig holders? I usually have a number of rigs on the boat and because of the need to supply 1 or 2 others.
Great idea in the circle hooks! Got them awhile back from a local shop..there now changed to the round ones
Not many butterfish these days dom? You’ve found some good ground or just not showing them? My whiting spots there is always at least a few butterfish, sometimes there are bloody plagues of them.
I was thinking that aswell with the lack of butterfish out there. Prob cause the lack of weed at my spots lately👍
Good on ya Dom you only forgot one thing
10 bucks each plus postage….!!!!!
Lol...nah thats why I did a DIY!👍
Sub'd today WE use a triangle swivel 4 sorta same rig idea & use 30 lb mono! Never saw a swivel like urs will look around on amazon 2C. TY 4 ur fine work & Go Fish Wud Ya my motto ;)
also WE use sabiki rig 4 mullets/spots etc. WE shorten it to 3 or 4 hook rigs & fish it @ nite. Does real' well sometimes 2 or 3 @ time. WE also use bank sinkers toss it out away's & lift it occasionally & reel N couple feet & let it settle again. Sometimes catch school fish like mackeral's & bluefish also ! Try it U'lllike it
Thanks alot mate!
Totes cant catch a whiting KG, but gonna keep trying
Thats the best way mate
Hey mate why don’t you put the red bead on both hooks why only one
No reason..i usually use the red tubbing aswell..only had the one beed left👍
Hey Dom that knot is called a Uni Knot.Great knot. Why do you use a snap swivel for your sinker instead of a simple Loop?Love your videos mate.Keep up the great work mate!
Thats right, cheers for that. I find it easier with the snap..and if the bottom hook is tied too long it may get stuck in the loop👍
What the fuck is a shrivel?? 😂😂
The thing that looks like a swivle😁👍
Love your vids Dom! Always awesome and love the info on the rigging you use!
I got my skippers for my boat the other day but got the spicy C so cant go out for a week.
Cant wait for the next vid!
Thanks alot Denzel. Thats a bugger..hope you get out there soon👍
Thanks alot👍
@@FishTuckerMan Thank you very mutch... have a nice day.... see you….
Im sorry dom but the are not called shrivels but they are swivels
Ive been robbed all my life then👍
@@FishTuckerMan You and me both. With this cold Sydney weather we’ve been getting it’s certainly “shrivel”.No fine specimine in my pants at the moment mate.😂
Nice mate thank you
No problem 👍
Nice video mate.
Cheers mate👍
Thanks Dom JUST wish you did the knot tying A few time .As I am slow lol .But I went back and looked at you showing how the knot is done 5 well more like 10 time .And I hope I get it right lol
Thanks Kim..practice makes perfect! Its called a Uni Knot
Love it Dom 👍🏻
Took the old man of north mole today, got a couple of squid and one whiting 🫣☹️
The north easterly killed us, 3 knot drift🤦🏼♂️
Keep up the good work mate 🍻
Thanks mate..better luck next time👍
great video Dom ,good to see you keep up the good work my friend stay safe and take care...😀👌🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
Thanks alot Sam! Same to you mate👍
Hi Dom, I hadn't seen those type of swivel before, but while I was watching the video I used two different sized loop swivels and put the smaller swivel loop through the larger one, and then crimped the larger loop with pointy nosed pliers, to kinda mimic what you showed.
Sounds great mate.👍
Cheers Dom
Cheers Deb🥂
Love the way you say it’s only one lol disappointing there wasn’t two lol 😂 great video mate but no cook up lol 😂
Lol..love catch 2 a time ! No cookup in this one..sorry😁👍
Good to see you doing what you love. I tie my own rigs I use dropper loops and circle hooks we predominately only catch King George in Victoria. I have fished in W.A. as a young fella I lived in a suburb called Kingsley for 4 years.
Thanks great mate! I always used the dropper loops before, and they are great aswell. For some reason its a bit hard to find small circles here..well done in the KGs👍
Some nice sized sandies. Bet they tasted great and the water looked like a mill pond. Great video.
Thanks alot Allan, sure did mate👍
Awesome Dom , Thankyou for the tips. Cheers Geoff 🎣🐠🐟
Thanks alot Geoff👍👍
I use small crimps for my paternoster rigs cheaper than swivels.
Awesome mate👍
Interesting Dom , here in Qld the standard rig for beach ,estuary, river fishing , is 6lb main line on a running sinker rig and 6lb fluorocarbon trace about 3 foot long using a no 6 or no 4 long shank hook . Never been fishing for Whiting off shore so don't know what they use . Cheers 🐓🍻🍻🐔
Due to sinkers I use out deep and the chance for a heavy fish..and the constant tangles..ibwouldnt use anything under 40 lb..prob a bit lighter line in the hook. Your spot on with the esturay rig up 👍👍
@@FishTuckerMan Forgot as well Dom , we also use about 50 mm of red plastic tubing . Do you use the rig mentioned above for your estuary fishing as well ? Cheers more bush chook beers🤣🐔🍻🍻😂🐓🐓
good video 👌
Thanks alot👍
My favourite rig of all time mate. Nice work 👌
Awesome mate, thanks alot👍
Wel explained. Thanks mate
Thanks mate
Thanks for sharing with this 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙋♂️.
Your welcome mate!👍👍🍻
Glad to hear you say that, sir. 🙋♂️
Nice bagfull of stonkers Dom 👍👍.
Cheers mate👍👍
40lb line seems like serious overkill for fish that size.
I agree but maybe a snapper comes along and he'll stand a chance?
It is, but in 16 meters off water with a snapper sinker and a chance for a small shark, or other fish..with less tangles aswell, its what ive been using for years
@@FishTuckerMan Nice work! Well anyway, looks like you got some great results! Who am I to talk.... I am a terrible fisherman.
Nice video 🤙🎣
Thanks mate👍
