I love this version. Ian's delivery here is more world weary and compelling. Will's guitar solo is simply beautiful. I return here on occasion as the years pass, and its meaning only grows richer.

Got drunk one night and played this VERY loud about 20 times till 3 in the morning. My Bangaldeshi next door neighbour knocked me up next morning. I started to apologise for keeping his family awake, but he'd just come round to ask me where he could buy the CD.

Ocean Rain is the most compelling song for any soul who has put their heart to the waves. I played this video at my brother in law's funeral, he was a sailor in the Viet cong era, on a destroyer. 8 yrs he was gone. Letters came infrequently, but I still have each one. He never married, bought a big house with scores of land and Drew into his darkest thoughts. He passed in October of 16. Never really saying what he might have wanted to say. So Ocean Rain says it for him.......I miss you Roy Jr. With love your brightest star and dearest sister in law.. Jan chiodo Wilhelm six nation's NY

Derek Higham .....you have a kind heart to send this message to me. I wish I could meet you....why? Ocean Rain brings us a common thread, and I have never had the great opportunity to see E and the B,'s. One of the few bands still on my bucket list. Do you live in Liverpool? My husband was stationed at Weathersfield AF base, but I couldn't travel to see him. He said England was his favorite place to be stationed. He was able to tour Edinburgh Castle. God keep you safe, and my love to your Queen. Peace Love mercy Jan chiodo-Wilhelm six nation's NY

Jan Chiodo-Wilhelm ,thank you for your reply,I do live in Liverpool, the music city of England, and the best football team also, people come from all over the world to see them and hear the Kop sing you will never walk alone, which is our anthem and sung before every game ! The words are meant to inspire you and give you hope.i have been to Edinburgh which is a beautiful city so historic with many sights ,I hope you have the chance to visit both cities as I honestly would love to travel to America,I have seen Europe with my football team, and been to India and Vietnam many times so America next would be nice, lovely to hear from you, take care of yourself.Derek ,YNWA ✌🏼⚽️🎸

Derek Higham hey my over seas friend, I live in Buffalo NY. The outskirts town is North Tonawanda. Niagara falls is 15 miles from me,on a clear day, I can see the mist from the falls and every Friday night they have fireworks. The falls is an incredible wonder when they turn on the lights...YES !!!! Lights in places where 350million gallons of water go over every day. The falls has great travel packages. My people run a Huge casino/hotel and there rooms face the falls. In funky terms I live 15 miles between Buffalo and the falls. Tonawanda means "fast running water" referring to the Niagara River that feeds the falls from the great lakes. The casino/hotel has a great entertainment program...from Kiss to prog rock to contemporary. But the most amazing thing is of course the falls. It has this natural deep soul turning revitalization for ones who are open to it. Being here all my life, how many times we ditched school, somehow we got a car , some "green",and off to the falls. Now I go to find answers to why....you get my drift. I'm 57, a teen in the '70s ( oh man!!! Frampton and Wings!!!) Now that I'm older it's Hawkwind and Strawbs etc. My Dr says I don't have plateletts in my veins I have musical notes. I've been to about 400 concerts. (Too young for Wood stock) but I have met Pete Seeger (RIP). I also Love!!!!!!!...... NICK DRAKE! I DISCOVERED him about 30 years ago or so. A wonderous talent,a tragic tale. But the music he left us......no words to say. My fave lp by him is Bryter Later. Listen my friend, getting close to dinner time...my duties!!! Thank you for a great note love peace and mercy . If you can search for Frampton's "Won't you be my friend" from "I'm in you" LP. Rock on! Jan Chiodo Wilhelm six nation's NY.

compelling stuff. For an even better vocal, check out the clip from 'The Tube' in 1983. Saw the Bunnymen dozens of times between 80 and 88 with Pete at the helm. I would wholeheartedly agree with the veteran NME hack in 84/85 who commented that they were the best rock n roll band he had seen live. And he had seen everyone from 1969 onwards. Reckon they peaked in Liverpool in 85. Just perfect shows. Atmosphere, edge, technique. Great, great, memories.
