Kill the keyboards, we all thought, and cringed. How great was BC? How great was Stuart? No way I can say anything smart except that in 1984 I was a lost teenager, and I heard "The Crossing". I thought, well, if someone can do this, I better figure it out. And 31 years later I'm still in awe. Tony, Mark, Bruce and Stuart - you changed me life for the better. I have every thing BC has put out for sale on vinyl, tape, CD or DVD, but I only saw you once live in 1986. It was The Seer tour and I remember it well. Thank you and I miss Stuart every day as well.

This song takes me back to my days in the US Army when stationed in Germany during the Cold War. The threat of war was constant and my artillery unit was less than an hour from the East German border. We would practice deploying to our wartime positions near Fulda, West Germany. It went so well for you
With a place right where you wanted and the ones to fill it to
But some blows break the spell
That it hits you every day until you need to hit as well
It's just a shadow of the man you should be
Like a garden in the forest that the world will never see
You have no thought of answers only questions to be filled
    And it feels like hell
It all seemed fine for you
Till the struggle of ambition turned in violence upon you
    Sometimes a landslide comes
If you're hiding in that avalanche you need a place to run
It's just a shadow of the woman you should be
Like a garden in the forest that the world will never see
And you have no thought of answers only questions to be filled
    And it feels like hell
I know there is no need for what's been done
I know there is enough for everyone
Frustration brings a heavy hand to bear
And there's never been a hand
Did we ever have it good
While we lived in Eldorado did we find the gold we should
If it really was the truth
Why are faces filled with anger that should only shine with youth
It's just a shadow of the people we should be
Like a garden in the forest that the world will never see
You have no thought of answers only questions to be filled
    And it feels like hell
I know there is no need for what's been done
I know there is enough for everyone
Frustration brings a heavy hand to bear
And there never is a hand outside that cares
Still the promise comes of living fit for all
If we only get our back against the wall
I look at backs that pushed the wall for years
Scarred by many knives and too much fear

I saw them sing this at Wembley empire pool, supporting the Jam back in the day. What a gig. Much missed band.

Stuart's voice and passion for playing is without equal. With the best musicians and artisits in the world, BC made a band that was better live than in studio, which is rare now. "I looked at backs that pushed the wall for years, stabbed by many knives and too much fear". How poetic is that.

I wish I was there :-( Last time I´ve seen them was in the 80s. Before the concert I met them at McDonalds in Hamburg/Dammtor. Could´t believe my eyes when Stuart stood right next to me to order a burger :-). If I only knew then....

Some people think they do good in politics. In business and other really quite selfish careers...these men Stuart Mark Bruce and Tony...helped us to Stay Alive and realise that music maters.
