About the track:
For his 1968 television special, Elvis Presley reunited with Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana, his first backing musicians, for a raw “sit-down” performance of his earliest and most favorite songs, including his very first single, “That’s All Right.” Though it did not feature in the original broadcast, you can experience every moment from the taping on ’68 Comeback Special: 50th Anniversary Edition, the new 5CD/2BD box set available November 30.

I agree honey 100percent whether U believe it or not it's pretty factually now and forever Amen.
The 68 Comeback Special will still stand up against any music out today. No smoke or flashing lights, just Elvis and the guys jamming out and playing good music. Awesome!
You are SO RIGHT. His music, voice and production is all so fresh. Thank you.
This was Nirvana Unplugged before the 90s
One of a kind! Ahead of his time! Music was his soul! Love him! ❤
@@jeremiahstoddard985I’ll bet that’s where they got the idea for the UnPlugged series.
I've not been able to get this song out of my head since watching the Elvis movie. What a performer and also a huge credit to Austin Butler for his performance as Elvis.
I just saw it a couple days ago. I must say it was so unique and amazing. I’ve seen every movie and documentary about him so I didn’t think I would see anything new. Boy was I wrong. I told my kids who are 20 and 23 even if your not an Elvis fan and don’t care for his music you should see it. You will love it. I also was so interested in the super hero theme so to speak in the movie. In a way he was like a superhero.
Huge credit to the person he stole this from 🧐
@@spokentruth5909 he didnt steal it lol, he just remastered it :))
bro frr this song is catchy af
@@spokentruth5909 I don't think he ever hid that his music wasn't original. (Though he did change a few lyrics). He gave songs a different style and was praised for doing so plus he had a great voice. Also it was 1954 when he originally made this and America/Society was racist af.
Of course every song ever released since 1954 in the music business has been an original work of art 🙄
Thank you and good day sir.
That was the first Elvis record I ever bought. I still love it, but it's even more special seeing him as he sings and plays the guitar. I met him in 1956 when he was performing at the Olympia Theatre. The evil Tom Parker had told me, my cousin and my sister that we would be able to meet Elvis, because we were members of his fan club, but when we got to the theatre, he said we couldn't. That's when I saw Red West and told him what happened. He said, "You girls come with me." He then took us to Elvis' dressing room and we got to meet him and get his autographs. We were there for quite awhile and were thrilled to spend time with the "king".
So rad. Still have em?
My 23 year old daughter just texted me she loved this song.
Let’s give a hand to Scotty Moore, who was providing those cool rockabilly guitar licks (sitting to Elvis’ left). Scotty Moore was a guitar GOD.

And I will say AMEN in loud, big capital letters! Scotty Moore inspired such guitar greats as Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, and Jimmy Page. That’s one hell of a guitar player tree right there…
I read somewhere that this was the last time Scotty saw Elvis or even spoke to him.

The ELVIS film is bringing all us new generation of Elvis Presley fans together!!! My parents grew up with his music back in the day and they passed it on to me. Austin Butler disappeared into Elvis Presley and he has to win a Best Actor Academy Award.
No matter how goog the young man might have been in the movie, NO ONE can ever really portray Elvis... He is unique, period._
Come back Elvis!
Yes!!!
Absolutely this is how Elvis should be remembered. A Young Man in his absolute prime. And when you have built a Legacy as big as Elvis’s you will always remain alive.
He was 33 here, not saying that isn't a young man but he was 19 when he signed at Sun Records
I was 25 and got so lucky to see his comeback concert LIVE. Thrills me to this very day. One of a kind. The King lives on ...his spirit fills us with passion and hope.

Of course
I was 15 when I saw Elvis in Las Vegas. My mother flew with me and my sister to see two shows. Mom rolled up a bunch of one dollar bills to look like a lot of money to tip the man seating guests. Well it worked because we were right at the front stage. Elvis walked on from the left looked right at me (I was just a kid) waved at me and said hello. At the time I never realized what a big deal he was. Both shows were just great, a once in a lifetime experience. Yes, he was super good looking and extremely talented. He always gave it his all.

7 years without concerts…come back and break the stage…He is still The King!
Unfortunately, "Colonel" Tom Parker's gambling wrecked the guy. Presley was ignorant of business, or he didn't want to deal with it, so he thought he needed Parker to get more work, as his albums weren't selling like they used to.

Elvis was incredible! He was good and kind to everyone around him. He took care of his family and always put forth an awesome performance. How many Elvis impersonators are still representing a legend after 46yrs?
The gospel music he sang was also legendary. During a concert everyone was yelling out calling him "the King", and he corrected the crowd and said "There is only one King, and that is Jesus Christ"
I can't get over this!
More than fifty years old and it looks like it could have been filmed last night!
I have this show on videotape recorded from the TV. One of my treasures despite the poor quality
B
By this time, high-quality film was already very good. 35mm film is capable of capturing a similar amount of information to a 5.6k digital image. TV shows from the pre-digital era can still look good if you can get a nice scan of the original negatives. Compare that to pre-HD digital TV, where there's no possible way to upscale it to HD and looks terrible on modern screens.
@@ApotheosisCM I love technology and stuff but cameras should have stayed in FILM, nothing can beat film.
He was born Jan. 8, 1935, this was filmed in late nov. or early Dec of 1968, he was only 32 when this was filmed. But does he looks good, always did.
@@elvisgal8953 Yes, of course, but I was just talking about the quality. Obviously it's on film instead of videotape, but I can think of any number of movies from that period or even later, up until the mid 1980s, that were shot on film and still look "grainy" compared to this.
Elvis is the best lookin guy EVER born!!!

The song that started it all
Elvis Presley's death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique and irreplaceable. More than 20 years ago, he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled. His music and his personality, fusing the styles of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense, and he was a symbol to people the world over of the vitality, rebelliousness, and good humor of his country.
@Nery Santa Cruz VERY well said! 🥰🥰🥰 Elvis Presley will live on forever as one of a kind, with a talent of musical legacy that can NEVER be duplicated, and a beautiful physical presence as well.
Listening to this in honor of my grandma who just passed away on Tuesday. She was a huge Elvis fan. ❤
It's wonderful how music can bring back memories and feelings in us.
🌹
Bill Black died just three years before this was filmed. Imagine how cool it would have been to see all three of them jam together here.
Yes. That is a shame. Would have been magical.
I think Elvis developed a disdain for Bill....but Black had his combo with lots of hits@@cut1986
Ive never seen another human that has a gift like this.....when he's in a room, a video, movie whatever, all you can do is look at him.

The fact he was only 33 here is baffling now that I’m 37. He was always portrayed as a middle aged flop in his “later years” but he literally only died in his early 40’s. What a gorgeous fucking man.
I am so happy the next generation is getting a glimpse of greatness from the past ❤️

I dont know why some people are discrediting Elvis' musicianship..he can play a guitar for goodness sake! Isnt that enough?!? The man is talented!
Elvis was an excellent Rhythm Guitar player.
He started learning the guitar when he was only about 10 years old.
Johnny Cash said he played rhythm very well,
that voice tho, who the hell can sing like that
The people who talk shit about Evil are losers.
Elvis was a pretty decent pianist as well
he had good rhythm too bad he never learned to solo but it wouldn't have been the same sound if he did
The fact he jollied with his band mates and respected their ending shows how much this guy was loved. His musicians loved him and him them
