      I can only imagine the amount of pain he was in, physically, emotionally and mentally but he preformed his heart, like, no pun intended, it was his last night on earth. The movie definitely gave me more depth to how tragic and mislead Elvis life was.

    I saw Elvis last night early screening, all i can say it was beautifully done. Elvis was before my time but I grew up listening to him. To see the man behind the cape, how tear jerking it. Yet to know how a simple family man he is that family came first. Clapping, loud cheers and folks giving standing ovation inside the theater. • @MJsap13
      @MJsap13 Год назад +17

      Austin Butler did an amazing job. Unfortunately I feel like his performance was wasted by Bax Luhrmans egocentric self centered styling directing. Would’ve been much better if he focused more on Elvis and less on Parker. Elvis led such an interesting life, and they left a lot of it out. Instead of telling the story of a remarkable man’s life Luhrman was more interested in putting his own pizazz and interpretations into the film. Under a different direction this film could’ve been an all time classic.

    • @jamesprior2496
      @jamesprior2496 Год назад +9

      @@MJsap13 Excellent assessment, Mr. Sapelli. I could not have worded it better myself. I agree with you that the focus should been more on Elvis and not the narcissistic self-serving huckster that was the 'Colonel.' I believe that without the stifling confounds of Parker, the raw talent and charisma of Elvis would have made an even more profound mark on American history; realizing his fullest potential and living well beyond his premature demise.

      Everyone realized he was a massive drug and food addict. Everyone. The public saw him talk without making sense and get fat as shit. His entourage saw him be a drug addled mess. His doctors saw him be a drug addled mess and kept cutting him off. Tom Parker saw him as a drug addled mess and exploited him to bankroll his own gambling addiction. His ex wife saw him as a drug addled mess and left him. We all realized it. Where were you?

    Elvis Presley never dies. There are only two men that still ( until this day) are the Greatest singers/ performers and broke all the records. First was Elvis then MJ. The two most successful artists of all time in the music industry. Two men that made music for everyone regardless of the color of someone’s skin.
    It’s so sad that a few days ago there was still a person on this planet who looked so much like Elvis and carried his genes and somehow, that person used to make me feel that part of Elvis was still living and walking on this earth. His beautiful daughter Lisa Marie. Gone too soon just like her Dad.

    Imagine being the lucky recipient of the very last silk scarf that Elvis gave in his last live performance. Man, what a treasured keepsake that would be. Seeing him in that physical state less than two months before his death is sad, very sad. The voice till the very end was still powerful and moving. If only he could have changed just a few lifestyle habits, he could still have been with us today or at the very least lived a lot longer and ultimately retired when he wanted and been happy in retirement until his death much beyond his 42 years of age. Taken from us way too soon. Bless him. RIP.

      I saw him in concert the day before this was taped in Kansas City. On Sunday I spent the day at our downtown airport waiting for him to arrive. (I tell everyone this but say I babysit his plane) My daughter and her friend were with me. We stood at the back of the limo as he got out. He turned and looked at our way and smiled. I promised my daughter and her friend I’d take them to see him the next Time he was in KC. As we all know that would never happen. But at least we have that Wonderful memory of him. I saw him 3 times in concert. My Mom sent me a sympathy card. When he passed away. I’ve Loved him since I was 11 and still do. I’m 77 now. I’ve been to Graceland several times. He used to come to the gate to talk to fans. His funeral procession went past our place in midtown. Despite Elvis being everywhere growing up I didn't have a deep appreciation until I was older. This is absolutely heartbreaking but so wonderful to watch.
